Barnock continues to pummel the Dragon with his bare hands, each punch creating an indentation in the beast's scales. Soon enough, the concussive damage to its head starts affective its mind, making it hard for the beast to think, fightback, or even fly.
Like a hijacked plane, its wings fully extend as it heads straight towards the mountainside, Barnock shouting as they descend.
Mathias hated to admit it, but he was worried for Barnock right now, he didn't know if the Barbarian could survive taking an impact like that, nor if the Dragon would be fully dead either. He turns and looks at the one person who could help... "Selina, can you help him?"
The young quickly nods, turning on a heel and disappearing in a flash of light, the others watching as a similar phenomenon appeared on the falling dragons head.
Barnock's eyes widen at Selina appearing next to him, "BRAT! WHAT'RE YOU DOING HERE?! DO YOU WANT TO DIE!?" He exlaims, adrenaline causing him to act more abrasive than he usually would, especially to a child.
Selina ignores his angry yell and grins at him, "I'm here to save you! Hold my hand and we'll teleport to away!"
Barnock hadn't realised such a thing was possible, he'd thought the girl's teleportation was the same as Mathias, only capable of being used by one person and no passengers. He shakes his head as he wishes to retrieve his axe, but upon seeing the rapidly approaching ground, realising that there was no time.
He grabs the girls hand and the two vanish just as the Dragon collides headfirst into the mountainside, lifting a cloud of dust in its wake.
Selina and Barnock appear next to the group, the Barbarian falling onto his butt immediately afterwards... Not due to exhaustion, but due him experiencing flying, and falling at a great height for the first time. "Let's never do that again, were I not in combat I might have shit myself." he mutters, though, all of the group could hear him.
Tyrael "I'm glad that you survived Barnock, but perhaps we should check on our foe first?" he says, gesturing towards the cloud of dust that was slowly setting a few hundred meters away.
Mathias nods, "And finish it off if it's somehow still alive." he adds, getting a nod from everyone else.
The ground quickly make their way towards the landing site and ar rive just as the dust settles, revealing the lower half of the Dragons body...
Selina "Oooh! The Dragon cut itself in half!" she exclaims in wonder.
Quennie shakes her head, "Of course it didn't sister... The mountain has obviously been hollowed out so it could contain the Elven ruins. It probably just landed head first into the ruins."
Tyrael "Enough bickering, I think it's still breathing... This should be rectified." he says without emotion, stepping close to the Dragon while avoiding its tail as it begins to flick and swing at anything it can sense approaching.
The beast tries to pull itself out of the ruins, but doesn't seem able to... Either because its limbs were broken from the impact, rubble was securing it inside the hole, or it was too exhausted to move. Regardless, Tyrael hopped ontop of its body and was standing just above the beginning of the tailbone so the tail couldn't reach him.
Without a second thought, he raises El'druin and stabs it down into the beasts spine, drawing a pained groan from the beast in response... The blade enters its flesh like better and easily severs the spine, Tyrael prying it out of its back to cause more internal damage and hopefully put an end to the creatures misery.
The group breathes a sigh of relief when it goes limp, Selina giving cheer and hugging Quennie with a huge smile. Barnock slaps Mathias on the back and grins, "Good job!"
Unfortunately however, their reverie was to be cut short... Ghosts start passing through the beast's body, some raising their hands to block the sun but others immediately heading for the group.
Mathias fires his Disintegration Beam at them which temporarily deals with the problem, but occasionally another ghost would pop out and start floating around.
Quennie "I think with the ruins breached, whatever runes held the spirits within its walls is gone, allowing them to roam free..."
Selina "We need to deal with them before they start causing trouble!" she says, unsheathing her blade and preparing to delve into the dungeon yet again.
Tyrael "We cannot, if we allow Diablo to create more forces we'd undoubtedly be defeated, no... We can come back after we've completed our duty." he recites for the Nth time.
Barnock has Mathias use his magic to shift the ground in-order to allow him to retrieve his axe from the Dragon's head.
The group reluctantly nod and continue on their journey, leaving the corpse of the Dragon for when the return... Its body is a treasure in itself, but it shouldn't be scavenged by anyone as the only intelligent residence of the Dragon mountain are, well, Dragons...
As they leave a certain person with Draconic wings, white hair and turquoise eyes watch them from afar, a small smile on his face. He knew he'd get teased by his wives, but he couldn't help but keep watch over their children, should anything happen to them his rage would only be quelled by the destruction of a few worlds...
He glances over at the Ghosts escaping the ruins and whispers aloud, "Hinky, call for Harry, Solaire, and Rickert, tell them its a gather, repair, and conceal mission."
A *Pop* from nowhere signals that his message had been received, he leaves a stone that'll relay his order to repair the ruins, recover the corpse and reseal the ghosts so his daughters could deal with them later before flying off to continue watching over his kids.
