"Belle! It's already 9.00! Come out before I drag you down!" shouted her mom.

"Two minutes, mom!" cried Belle as she pulled her hair up in a high ponytail and slung her bag over her shoulder before rushing down the stairs. She was late for school. Again.

She shoved a slice of bread down her throat and gulped down her juice. She gave a quick bye to her mom and dashed out the door to catch a bus. But the bus had already taken off.

"Ugh, not again!" she shouted and having the last bus gone, she had to walk to school. She was going to miss her first class yet again.

She slowly walked to her school, mumbling to herself about her leg hurting from all the walking. The road leading to her school was empty and silent, in the middle of the woods.

Out of the blue, she saw a car whizzing past her in the silent road but suddenly, it stopped. The car reversed to where she stood and the window rolled down to reveal a guy, with the greenest eyes and copper brown wavy hair. 

"Want a ride?" he asked, with a sweet smile. She nodded and hopped into the seat beside him.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"Belle. Your's?"

"Sam. I suppose you are from YGN junior school?"

"Yeah..where are you headed to?"

"To where you are headed to"

"You attend YGN too?"

"Yep..I'm starting from today"

"Oh..great!Will see you around then...Thanks for the ride" she said as they arrived at YGN.

"Sure, no problem" he replied and they hopped out of the car and parted ways.

The bell rang just as Belle went in. Students came out from their classes and she was greeted by Meg, her best friend, with sleepy eyes.

 "You are late again, Belle! You always make me attend the boring classes alone" pouted Meg. 

"Which class has ever been interesting for you, Meg?" she chuckled, earning a glare from Meg.

They both headed to their next class, the most hated class by them, which was none other than Math. Belle sighed while Meg starting to whine.

They took their usual seats at the back left corner near the window. Mrs Stella, their math teacher, came in along with a new boy alongside her.

"Everyone, this is Sam. He will be joining our class starting today. I hope you guys will treat him well. Why don't you introduce yourself, Sam?" she said, giving Sam a cue to start.

"Hey, all! I'm Sam from the UK, moved to the US a few months ago and looking forward to make some American friends" he said and locked eyes with Belle before shooting a small smile at her which she returned immediately.

"Cute, isn't he?" whispered Meg to Belle as he sat in the empty seat beside them. She agreed with a curt nod.
