Even if they wanted to give Mr. Malmer a lift back to the office, it was impossible unless he was willing to be transported by the hearse, as the Immeras family didn't have a private car.

Paul and Ron worked together to lift Jeff's body out of the coffin and place it on a stretcher, pushing it back to the basement.
Then, they pushed Mr. Mozam out and transferred him into the coffin.
Aunt Mary came forward and started to adjust Mr. Mozam's posture, trying to make him look as "comfortable" and "composed" as possible.
The rest of the decorations and furnishings remained unchanged.
Then it came to his turn.
Although Mr. Mozam's children were stingy in other aspects, they had booked the "whole day" instead of "half-day" for Mr. Mozam's mourning ceremony. Because some of their relatives lived out of town.
Of course, if the conditions allowed, they would be willing to book it "by the hour" instead of half a day.
