BLEEDING

"What do you want to eat for breakfast, love? I will cook it for you." Edge offered to me.

"Anything will do." I answered in a lifeless tone before I walked into our room.

While walking to the room, my knees hit the door frame, so I got bruises there. "Ouch! Fuck!" I murmured as I sat on the bed.

I heard someone rushing to the door. "Hey, are you okay?" Edge asked.

"I'm fine," I said while putting on the blanket to hide my bruises.

"Sure?" He asked again.

"Yeah, I'm very fine," I assured him while awkwardly smiling.

"Okay, I will call you later if I am done cooking our breakfast." He said before going out of the room. I nodded as I sighed when he was gone.

I immediately went to the bathroom to clean my bruises and changed my shorts to pajamas before going into the kitchen.

"What do you think of going out today, love?" Edge casually asked.

"I want to rest rather than go out for the day." I simply answered.

"Since when did you want to stay here rather than go out?" He curiously looked at me.

"Today, Edge, why? Do you have a problem with that?" I said as I raised my left eyebrow and looked grumpy.

"If you say so, love." He agreed and continued cooking our breakfast. "Do you want to come and visit the site?" He suddenly asked.

"Maybe next time, Edge. I'm not in the mood to go out." I answered in a low tone.

"Is it okay with you to be alone here? I have an important meeting with the client today and I will go back late tonight." He simply informed me while preparing our table.

"I will be fine here alone, Edge. Besides, I need to arrange my things and to rest. I'm too tired without doing anything yet." And I smiled.

He nodded. "But call me if you need something later, okay?" I nodded as I started to eat our breakfast. We ate in silence. No one talked until we were done.

"About last night, about what I said to you?" I casually stated to him.

"Let's not talk about it now, love. Don't worry, I won't waste the time that I have asked for. Just give me this day to finish my work and then I will be planning how I will spend my remaining time with you." He calmly said as he put all the dishes in the sink and started to wash them.

"Okay." I agreed. I hope to turn back time so that I dare to tell him my condition and apologize for leaving him so soon. I want to tell him how I am afraid of death. That is my only option aside from fighting with my illness now. And wishing that it was just a nightmare that we might fulfill our dream wedding, have a family, and grow old together, but today, it's impossible to think that.

"I have to go. Be safe here, love. See you later." He informed me and gave me a forehead kiss as he went to the door. "Call me if you need something later, okay?" he reminded me. I nodded and smiled at him while seeing him going out. He gave me a little wave as he closed the door. I let out a deep sighed and lay down on the carpet, covering my eyes with my right arm as my tears fell and I sobbed.

"This is so unfair to us!" I angrily exclaimed. "Why me? I almost got engaged to the love of my life! This is so hard! Please! Please wake me up! Please? I'm afraid of losing him. I'm afraid of death." I cried and cried more as I fell asleep on the carpet.

I woke up with stomach cramps and I panicked when I saw a red big spot on the carpet as I saw my pajamas were full of the red stain as I felt a heavy flow of blood from my lower abdomen.

"Damn. I need him. I can't move, argghhh!" I said it to myself.

(Phone ringing)

"Edge, answer, please. Please! I need you now." I murmured while trying to contact him.

"Yes? This is the secretary of Engineer Royce Edge Sullivan. How may I help you?" A man on the phone answered.

"This is an emergency. Can I talk to Edge? I need him right now. Please? Ahh!" I explained in pain.

"May I know who this is? Engineer Sullivan is currently in a meeting with his client." He asked.

"I'm his girlfriend. Please!" I simply answered and shouted in pain again.

"Okay, Okay! I will tell him! Sorry for waiting!" I heard him panicking over the phone. I hung up the phone. I tried to stand up to go to the bathroom to have a warm shower and changed my pajamas, but when I got back to the room, I collapsed on the carpet and cried again in pain and bent over my whole body on the floor because of the pain in my stomach.

"Damn! What happened? You're bleeding, love!" I heard someone cursed as I woke up when someone carried me to bed and covered me with a blanket.

With my half-opened eyes, I saw Edge, who looked so worried about me.

"My secretary told me that you called earlier. Are you okay? Do you need anything? Heating pad? Do you still have stock of sanitary napkins and pain relievers? Love, tell me what you need? Do you want a hot porridge? Love, please speak, I'm so worried about you." He asked a couple of questions, "Just stay there and feel comfortable. I will buy your period things, okay? Wait for a while." He said as he walked out of the room.

I fell asleep again. I woke up when I felt the heating pad in my stomach and by the smell of masculine perfume beside me, I knew it was Edge, who was cherishing my forehead.

"How are you, love?" Edge asked.

"I'm still having period cramps. I'm sorry for disturbing you while you were meeting with your client earlier." I apologized.

"It's fine because I already had the project before my secretary told me that you called me for an emergency." He explained, "Do you want some porridge?" he added.

"I'm sorry about your carpet. I will wash it when I am fine." I awkwardly said.

"Don't worry about the carpet, I already brought it to the laundry shop a while ago." He casually stated while watching me eating the porridge.

"Thanks." I genuinely said as he smiled and patted my head.
