PLANS

Rachel stood before a small house, took a deep breath, and pressed the doorbell. The door swung open to reveal Aunt Diane, dressed in revealing attire, chewing gum lazily. Her gaze narrowed, and she asked, her voice laced with hostility, "Back for what? To pay me what you owe?"

Rachel smiled knowingly. "Aunt Diane, I have a proposition. Would you like to make some money?" She set her luggage down.

Diane's expression shifted from annoyance to curiosity. "Come in," she said, gesturing inside.

As Rachel settled in, Diane sat beside her. "What's your plan to make me money?"

Rachel surveyed the room, noting the empty liquor bottles and faint cigarette smoke. She sighed inwardly, recognizing her aunt's familiar patterns, luckily she hadn't seen a man or men inside the house or so she thought.

"Mama, we're not done yet." A deep voice echoed from another room.
