Hyperventilating

"What's this?" Jaeneung ran up to the school, Ha-Eun training closely behind him. He panted as he reached the security card at the office standing infront of the school, operating the gates. "Are we late?"

"There's no school today." The security guard didn't pay any attention to them, he was reading a book and his black boots were placed on his desk. "Didn't you see the news?"

"What news?" Jaeneung caught his breath.

"Are you an idiot?" The security guard sighs and opens his phone, he clicks on a couple icons before shoving the phone onto the window.

Jaeneung scoots to the side as Ha-Eun looks at his phone. "Local student found dead in gang-related accident. Investigations ongoing." below was a semi-graphic photo of blood dripping down a flight of stairs.

"Oh my god..." Ha-Eun covers her mouth with her hand. Jaeneung places his hand on Ha-Eun shoulder and ushers her to leave, as if pulling her.

"Let's go." Jaeneung whispers quietly under his breath, trying to pull Ha-Eun away but she wouldn't budge.

"Now get out of here before we arrest you to investigate ya!" The security guard's hurly eyebrows covered his eyes and he barely opened his eyes to look at the two of them.

Jaeneung clicks his tongue and removes his hand from Ha-Eun's shoulder and moves out of the way, walking down the road. "Are you coming with me?" Jaeneung removes his bag from one of his arms, slinging it over only his right hand. "New York is a sketchy place."

Ha-Eun looks at Jaeneung and looks back at the school as a weird aura radiates off the building, the decrepit old paint on the walls slowly peeling off. "Yeah, let's get out of here."

Jaeneung walks to the left and walks onto the side walk, away from the main road as blaring red and blue lights come in their direction.

Ha-Eun runs quickly after Jaeneung and runs to the sidewalk, her eyes on her backpack as she runs.

Two cop cars come cruising down the road and halt immediately at the main entrance of the school. Ha-Eun couldn't help but look back, back at the two cop cars.

"Is that buzzard Chris here yet?" Kim gets out of the cop car, opening the door and slowly getting out, watching for her head. She's holding a coffee from Moonbucks.

"Is that..." Ha-Eun tries to get a proper look at her but she's interrupted by Jaeneung.

"It's none of your business, and I don't think you want to be entangled in that mess. It's tragedy enough a student died but it has nothing to do with us." Jaeneung continued walking down the side walk.

"How could you be so heartless?" Ha-Eun slightly raises her voice at Jaeneung. Jaeneung halts in his own tracks. "Can't you atleast show some sympathy? A student just died, it could've been one of our classmates!"

Jaeneung turns his head over his shoulder, showing his face towards Ha-Eun. On the side of his cheek there was a small cut, it was barely half an inch and barely visible, but it looked as if it had been there for many years. He opened his mouth but he didn't say anything, instead closing it before walking back down the side walk.

Ha-Eun looks at Jaeneung walking away and she turns around. She looks at the main entrance of the school but Kim had completely disappeared. Ha-Eun sighs and looks back down at the sidewalk, Jaeneung had completely disappeared too. She just stands there for a moment before stomping down the side walk, her feet wide apart and her hands by his side, swinging wildly.

Ha-Eun is walking through New York, the morning sun shining brightly on her face as she crosses a road. Tall large skyscrapers reflected the light straight into her eyes, blinding her.

She stops in the middle of the road and turns her head, looking at the middle of the road. In her eyes a flame erupted from a crashed car. The intense hot fire burned her skinned, boiling her blood internally.

She stood there stationary, staring into the abyss as the sun disappears, turning into a massive ball of flame that engulfs the skyscrapers and covers her in flames.

"Hey!" A car honked at her and snapped her out of her vision. Ha-Eun turns and sees a black vintage car screeching it's tires to brake right before hitting her.

Ha-Eun snaps back to reality as she dashes across the road, running away from the open traffic. She runs to the other side and she bends over, placing her hands on her knees. Her breathing is irregular and heavy, she could feel her very heart pounding more intensely.

She places her on the hot concrete wall of a massive building, trying to push her own weight onto it but it just cracks under her weight. The concrete peeled off the wall and wrapped it around her hands.

She groaned in pain as the concrete pulls her into the building, her entire hand submerged into the wall. She places her other hand on the wall and it too gets sucked in, her hands locked by the concrete wall.

She screams out for help but no one comes to her aid, the shadow of the tall building loomed over her. "Help!" She cried out for help but the building kept pulling her in, it felt like her hands were being crushed and stretched out.

Her individual fingers were shaking inside the wall, her flesh and bone twisting and turning. She cries out in pain and raises her head, only for a shadowy object to appear.

Glass shatters from the top floor and a massive burning car comes down, covered in flames. In the driver seat there was a shadowy figure, it was humanoid in shape yet she couldn't make out who it was. In the backseat, however, clear as day, she was able to make out who it was.

It was her.

The car crashes onto the pavement and catches her inbetween, flattening her body.

"Is she okay?" A passerby walks past Ha-Eun as she lays on the ground, sweating profusely and hyperventilating with foam coming out of her mouth.
