You sit with Georgia in the garden, having tea with her as you chit-chat about some books, you two have read.
It has been exactly two months since you started living with Mr. Darcy and his younger sister.
He also realized that he started to form feelings for you.
Georgia is a sweet girl with a kind heart just like in the book.
Mr. Darcy, on the other hand, is another story.
He acted cold towards you the first two weeks but started to warm up when he saw how his sister adores you.
However, in those two months, you were not allowed to leave the manor.
As Mr. Darcy believes that you still need rest even when you told him that you are feeling much better.
He just won't give you that freedom.
Not until he sees it fit.
"Have you ever fallen in love?" Georgia's question makes you smile.
"Yes, with fictional characters" the light-haired girl shook her head at your reply.
"No, as in have you ever fallen in love with anyone in reality?"
The question made you shrug.
But you stop for a few seconds before you answer.
"I do not have any memories of being in love with someone"
Yes, that's the right answer as it would sound suspicious if you answered otherwise.
"How about now? Do you like my brother?"
You almost spit out your tea, While Georgia stares at you innocently.
"What? No" you reply.
Actually, that's a lie, he is one of your favorite fictional characters.
"Why not? I think you two would make a good match
"Because, because..." You try to think of a good answer.
"Because?" The girl drags out, her eyes moving to look behind you.
"Because I think of Mr. Darcy as an older brother!" Your exclaim.
You finally notice Georgia's gazing, before you turn around slowly to see Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley standing side by side.
"I'm glad that you consider me as such, (Y/n)"
The coldness in Darcy's tone made you shrink back in your seat, while Mr. Bingley chuckles.
"Good evening" the blond man greets you and Georgia with a smile.
"Good evening to you too, Mr. Bingley"
You greet him back, trying to look anywhere but at the now displeased Mr. Darcy.
"Has Darcy told you about the ball?" You raise an eyebrow.
"What ball?" you inquire slowly.
"There is a ball tomorrow, and you should really attend, you will enjoy yourself, and maybe find a suitor" Mr. Bingley explains.
Before you could answer, Mr. Darcy cuts in angrily.
"I did not tell her about the ball, because she won't be attending it anytime soon"
You frown upon hearing that and stand up from your chair.
"I believe that is my choice, not yours" you imply, pressing a finger to his chest.
"No, it is not"
"Actually, it is her choice"
Mr. Darcy glares at his best friend, before looking back at you.
"You are not going, and that is final" you roll your eyes at him.
"Why?" you demand.
"Because you live under my roof, therefore, you follow my rules"
He leans his face closer to your ear, then starts whispering so his sister and Mr. Bingley don't hear anything.
"I own you"
Mr. Bingley knew that his friend won't tell you about the ball.
So, he decided to tell you, so you can attend it.
Maybe, he will get a chance at courting you.
