(Flashback)
The days passed, and the GDA was becoming increasingly aware that the confrontation between Invincible and Allen Walker was drawing near.
At that time, Scott spent more and more time worrying because it seemed like his request to bring Invincible to trial would never be approved by the district attorney. It wasn't that he didn't understand the reason—police often make deals with criminals to catch more dangerous ones, and there are even cases where they let guilty people go just for information.
Scott knew that, since Invincible was the most powerful superhero of the present day and the Viltrumite threat was still lurking, no one would lay a finger on him. No, there was one person who could bring justice to his family—the only man who wasn't above the law but could directly control it. Not even congressmen had escaped judgment by the Regulator. This was, of course, information only available within the GDA. But Walker had even entered Congress and dragged a senator accused of *** with a minor out of it.
Powerplex was eagerly hoping and praying that this man wouldn't let Invincible go, that he would make him pay, even if he was a superhero, even if he was [INVINCIBLE].
...
That day came, and Powerplex wanted to be there. Unfortunately, he didn't have the means to get to the location, but he didn't want to give up, so he decided to steal the energy amplification devices his colleagues were working on.
They didn't have an official name, but he decided to call them ARC Discs (Auxiliary Recharge Capacitors).
It wasn't difficult for Scott to obtain them since he worked there. Along with a special suit capable of directing and withstanding the energy, Scott left the lab. As he put on the suit and the discs, he felt for the first time that he could use his power at full capacity, but instead of being happy, he called his wife and apologized because he might lose his job and possibly face criminal charges.
"Don't worry, Scott. I know you have to do this. For people like us, common folk, justice is a luxury we can't afford to wait for."
"Thanks, Becky... take care of Jack and Gretchen..."
"Honey, don't say that! You're going to come back!"
Scott's wife was scared for the first time. Scott was supposed to have just stolen the discs and the suit to be present. Just that, he wasn't going to fight.
"I know Becky..."
"Scott!"
Scott cut the call and destroyed the phone with his electrical power. He reaffirmed his will by doing this, today he would avenge his sister Jessica.
"Stop right there!" GDA guards were stunned to see someone dressed as a superhero in the middle of the facility.
Scott thought for a moment, and although he knew it was crazy, there was a voice whispering to him that everything would be fine. Scott attacked the guards with his electricity. It was strange because, unlike the original, he had great control over his abilities from the start, and his power seemed to increase constantly. Both guards fell to the ground, and Scott sharpened his gaze with determination before moving forward.
Scott was stealthy and used his power to knock out anyone who appeared and also to interfere with the surveillance system. He felt as if he were in a trance as he moved toward the teleporter. Normally, an incident of this magnitude would have alerted everyone at the GDA, but strangely, it seemed like some force would have prevented that from happening.
Scott... no, Powerplex reached the transporter, typed in the coordinates—he didn't even know how—and before he knew it, he was at the "Invincible's trial," and the rest is history...
...
There are times when, no matter how prepared someone is, how much they know, or how capable they are in unexpected situations, everything can't go as expected.
Allen was ambushed. This was accomplished by bringing together several unexpected factors.
Powerplex shouldn't have appeared so soon, but he did. Powerplex shouldn't have been so strong, but he was. Allen had problems because it was impossible for him to have "The Absolute" all the time, so, the will of the world attacked hard, and it was precise.
Allen was forced to take a hit, but he didn't do it for free and counterattacked decisively. Allen knew that Powerplex was just a puppet of the will of the world. He knew that, no matter how unstable the man was, as long as he didn't kill his own family like in the original timeline, there was still a way to turn things around. However, Allen could not afford the luxury of pity.
Just like with Emperor Markus, once the will decides to break the rules, even if it alters the world, the power becomes limitless for its puppet. Little by little, Powerplex would gain an enormous power, enough to face Allen... He wasn't going to allow it—not only for his own risk but for the planet.
Allen didn't hesitate and, taking advantage of the fact that Powerplex wouldn't defend himself while he attacked, used half of the Ru Yi Bang to pierce Powerplex's heart.
(End of Flashback)
...
...
...
Blood spilled...
The man fell to the ground...
"Urgh..."
Powerplex watched helplessly and desperately as Invincible embraced his brother. At the same time, he felt regret for leaving Becky, Jack, and Gretchen...
'I c-can't die...'
The will of the world tried to heal Powerplex, but before the miraculous resurrection and the power-up that should have occurred, it was Allen's turn, along with the system, to interfere with the will of the world.
[No miracles, bitch!]
The system hated the will of this world even more than Allen did. This was because this "thing" had put Allen in danger more than once.
Powerplex grew weaker and weaker, and no matter how much he hated Invincible, there was no miraculous transformation or power-up. No one conveniently came to help him. Without the "Plot Armor," which was the will of the world, he soon felt his body stop responding.
Powerplex closed his eyes, and at the same time, Allen opened his.
...
Pain...
Blood...
Two things that this man still remembers but it is increasingly difficult for him to feel them.
He was buried under a mountain of thousands of tons of rock. But soon, the rocks were destroyed by the dolls, who looked at him with concern as Allen rose. Makima and 2B appeared to help him stand.
"I'm fine," Allen smiled as he wiped the blood from his mouth. His broken teeth had already been restored. He wasn't upset because he knew his opponent had paid a heavy price for that attack.
Allen ascended into the sky and looked at the chain of destruction he had left behind. Many mountains that once stood tall were destroyed, and a glowing line of molten rock stretched for fifty miles. Despite all this devastation, it was insignificant compared to the amount of destruction Powerplex had caused.
Rick – He really hates you... hahaha
Gwen – The amount of destruction in just one second after deciding to intervene...
Annie – It's absurd, he's like that old man who sent you a message, right? How can he be so cruel?
Nanao – Most likely, this so-called will of the world decided to sacrifice the world just to finish you off.
Barbara – But even knowing it could kill Invincible in the process?
Allen had underestimated this will. He thought it wouldn't attack him on Earth because Invincible was there, but apparently, that didn't stop it.
Allen narrowed his eyes. Angstrom Levy was alive. Even though Allen had killed him, he was alive. The reach of the will's powers was now something incalculable. And he could expect anything in the war of the Invincibles. However, Allen wasn't alone.
Makima – Looks like we're about to face the final stage... interesting.
Wednesday – We mustn't underestimate the enemies. They literally have the power of the script on their side.
Rebecca – Haha, we do too~ don't we, Sister?
[Uh, of course... this time we were caught by surprise, but it won't happen again~]
Altoria – It's good to hear that...
Jalter – Tsk, I'm so angry! It was humiliating to be kicked out of the fight like that!
Kurumi – Ara ara~, Jalter is angry because she couldn't protect her dear master at that moment. How cute~
Jalter – S-shut up!
2B – I'm pissed about that... and humiliated... it's an embarrassment for YorHa...
Bocchi – I... I'm sorry, I couldn't help...
Nokotan – Me neither... nununu, I should be better prepared next time!
Harley – I'm sorry, daddy~
Esdeath – It's... my fault... If that bastard wasn't dead, I'd catch him and skin him alive...
"Thank you, all girls, for your concern, Haha, but don't worry, no one said it would be easy to face the will of the world. After all, they're the main antagonists in many stories... in our case, they appeared halfway through, but it doesn't matter; they're just another enemy." Allen's gaze sharpened, and then, in a moment, he disappeared.
...
Allen reappeared in the same spot, Powerplex was lying on the ground, the dragon staff impaled in his body.
[Hmph, he deserved it. Just like how willpower can interfere with us, we can do the same. So there were no miracles or plot armor for Powerplex…]
Allen didn't say anything and turned towards Invincible, who was not far off with Oliver. Allen wanted to speak, but at that moment, Cecil and Debbie appeared through the teleportation Cecil used, even to go to the store.
Cecil observed Allen, but before approaching, he went to talk to Mark. Meanwhile, Debbie ran directly to hug her children.
Natasha – Their children are some of the strongest beings in the world, yet a mother is still a mother, isn't that right, Allen?
"Cough I suppose."
Cecil came to talk to Allen shortly after, "His name was Scott Duvall. He lost his sister in the Omni-Man incident..."
Cecil began to tell Allen information he already knew, but Allen couldn't admit that, so he listened to Cecil in silence.
"I'll improve the security! It's unacceptable that this guy walked around the Pentagon stealing whatever he wanted, including using the teleporter!"
Cecil was furious about this; it was as if everything that could go wrong, did at the same time. Radios, intercoms, alarm systems—everything failed, allowing Powerplex to go undetected.
"..." Allen remained silent. Of course, he knew the reason, but he hadn't yet decided if he would reveal the world's will to Cecil. This wasn't something a person from this world should know.
"Cecil, you're not going to blame his family, are you?"
"Becky Duvall supported Scott when she found out he was going to steal technology from the GDA..."
"Still..." Allen didn't say it directly, but Cecil understood his words.
Cecil frowned, but he relented, "Alright, let's leave the wife out of this..."
Allen knew that Scott Duvall couldn't accept the loss of his sister, and he sought someone to blame. After Omni-Man's disappearance, his next target was, of course, his son, Invincible. From his point of view, even if Invincible wasn't the main culprit, he could have stopped it.
Allen stopped looking at Powerplex and observed the family behind him...
There was one thing he couldn't delay...
Noticing Allen's shift in mood, Cecil wanted to ask, but he chose not to and simply watched in silence. Allen approached the Graysons and spoke with them. Cecil, being an expert at reading lips, could understand about 80% of the conversation and opened his eyes in disbelief.
Oliver knelt while Debbie silently embraced him. Invincible clenched his fists, and Allen placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Your father never intended to join the Viltrum Empire... there's no better proof of that than the destruction of Thragg's fortress and his own death..."
Allen didn't want to do something like bring out the coffin in front of Oliver and Debbie. He would hand it over to Mark later.
Allen left the family and withdrew...
Kurumi – Ara~ as expected, even the master isn't such a bastard as to make a joke or mock right now~
Jalter – I wouldn't speak like that if I were you...
Kurumi – Kihihihi~ don't worry, my master will forgive me– *Shudder*...?!
*Killer Intent"
Kurumi looked at the girls around her, who suddenly became cold and dangerous, with a bead of sweat on her forehead. 'Looks like the master is very loved...'
Kurumi glanced at Allen, who didn't intervene in what had just happened. He wasn't insensitive; how could he be? He knew well what it was like to lose a father...
...
(A few days later)
The whole situation calmed down again. Scott Duvall came in like a storm and disappeared in no time. With that, the world seemed to become calmer on the surface.
One night, Allen didn't want to sleep and stood by the window in his bedroom, gazing at the night sky.
"What's wrong?" Amanda asked softly, as she approached in a nightgown. She stood behind Allen and hugged him. The girl didn't hesitate to act intimately while inhaling her boyfriend's scent.
Allen took one of Amanda's hands and smiled as he turned his head to look at her. Then he paused, making Amanda's heart race embarrassingly for a 25-year-old girl.
"I'm just waiting..."
"For what?" Amanda bit her lip, and Allen turned around and embraced her, ready to kiss her. Their lips met for a moment before parting.
"I'm waiting for what's just another day for me..." Allen traced his hand down Amanda's body, causing her to tremble. Her breathing quickened, her delicate face turned red, and her pupils dilated.
Amanda fought the urge to moan in pleasure and spoke in a breathless voice, "And... what would that be, love?"
Allen lifted Amanda and carried her to the bed, then proceeded to kiss her neck while she clung to him. After a moment, Allen paused and spoke in a low tone.
"The Apocalypse..."
...
(Universe ???)
Angstrom Levy grabbed his head as he endured the pain. There were many memories in his head that did not belong to him or his variants.
They were images of an Invincible giving him such a beating that it destroyed his head, the image of Allen Walker ripping away his power and then incinerating him like trash.
"AAAHHHHHHH!"
"Hey old man, you alright?"
An Invincible with a mohawk mocked, but at the same time, he was worried. Angstrom was so weak that anyone could kill him, but his power was something no Invincible would ever have, and without Angstrom, none of them would leave this dead universe.
There were many Invincibles concerned about Angstrom's sudden condition. Among the Invincibles present, there were still the originals Allen could not find, like the cannibal, Omni-Mark, the Flaxan, the long-haired Invincible, the mustached one, the Viltrumite soldier, the Mohawk one, the faceless one, and the deformed one. But these Invincibles were just the tip of the iceberg.
"Shut up," another Invincible in a yellow and black suit with a cape was irritated. The Invincible with the mohawk was about to reply, but upon seeing the Invincible who had silenced him, he decided against it.
"This is all your fault, insects..." The Invincible Regent looked at both of them with anger. This universe was once a futuristic, advanced land, but now it was nothing but a lifeless wasteland.
"It's Angstrom Levy's fault for bringing so many idiots to this place," said an Invincible dressed like Omni-Man.
"Calm down, everyone, brothers," an Invincible stepped forward, smiling like a Buddha. He had a shaved head and wore attire similar to a monk, but strangely, everyone looked at him with caution, even the strongest ones...
"It's time..." Angstrom Levy got up and looked behind him with a satisfied smile, "The loss of Emperor Markus was painful, but I'm sure you can handle the job. As I promised, the Multiverse will be yours."
A sense of threat swept through this dead land where the bodies of billions of people still lingered. Invincible and Angstrom… were about to bring hell to Universe 1... because there were ninety-nine!
Ninety-nine monsters had committed atrocities from worse to lesser, but no one was innocent!
