Lance nodded and stole a piece of potato from the meals resting before them as they waited for his parents to come back,

"Yes, but I had found that creepy painting there; her age should match, and the system didn't lie about some other things like the betting results I am still making money with while we are talking,"

"Okay." She also stole a little potato.

"Don't steal food. Are you an animal?" Lance looked at her in disgust.

Paige accusingly pointed at him, and he broke out in laughter.

She sulkily stole another one and turned her head away from him.

His parents returned and were much more at ease during this meal, joking around and giving Paige and Lance another round of family atmosphere, which they both needed very much.
