Paige sat exhausted on the ground, looking at her trembling fingertips.

It appeared that she wasn't as composed as she had thought.

The way that man talked was unsettling, not the dialect, but his voice was just too soothing, making her relaxed and somewhat invaded.

'That was no human.' She concluded internally.

The system was silent, so she rushed to clean the wound, put a plaster on it, and dressed herself.

[Online again]

Paige feigned ignorance [What do you mean?]

[The system had an update just now and was not reachable.]

[Okay, no problem.] She found it strange that the system did not hinder her when she injured her neck. It should have at least talked to her, but it was just letting her do what she wanted.

Maybe this had something to do with the man from just now, like it should have regarding the 'update'. It was giving her enough time to clean up.
