"Unknown hitman" bruh, he is literally a human that lives in the HUMAN world. Knowledge of the supernatural isn't as big a deal as you make it sound; human mages are everywhere in that world, literally everywhere, heck I bet some even live in that town, so why the heck would he report himself for simply existing? if they ask, he can just say that he is a mage and that he simply lives there. What's the big deal? y'all just want to be dramatic.

why would that arouse suspicion? you act as if the devils are the only supernatural faction in the world, there are hundreds of other factions and pantheons, filled with humans with knowledge of magic and the supernatural, why would they assume his presence is something suspicious when it is more likely that he is simply a magician or someone with supernatural ties or part of a supernatural family.
