I don't particularly want my protagonist to suffer that much, just a little hint of pain would do. For the uncomfortable boot situation. I never really thought about that, to be honest. To be completely honest, I totally forgot how aging works from elves when I wrote that. I just assumed that their aging would be the same as human aging works. I'll keep this knowledge in mind next time.
