i don't believe MC should create an empire as why bother with human servants when he can create his own efficient workers through robots or magic. Also a suggestion to the author. Can you have the MC learn magic as well? The Ricks look down on it calling it bullshit but magic and technology are two sides of the same coin and him learning magic and intergrating it into his tech could give him an advantage over Rick C-137 and Evil Morty who only focus on technology. Akso i like the idea of MC creating a system and distributing it randomly to people with each system focusing on a different aspect such as mechanics, biology, magic, mage-tech e.t.c but each system and their user's knowledge and advancements would be sent automatically to the MC increasing his database banks that much faster. He shouldn't however have the system users be his subordinates but rather have each of them belive that they are the protagonists of their own story as people tend to work harder when they believe that they are unique and special compared to everyone else. Also he should definitely visit the meta-verse as the protagonist concept there as well as other aspects like p[lot twists and hero stories could help him better create situations for his system users to grow. E.g by having them face a dangerous situation one after another allowing them to become even smarter and stronger through their systems. This is just my suggestion. Do with it as you will.

it's the smart thing to do as if they surpass him then they can kill him and MC is too smart for that. It's also why the Ricks and Evil Morty want to kill MC as he has become too dangerous for them. Before he was like a chimp but now he had surparsed even them which scares them.
