I am realy liking this story and its concepts, my only fear is that other people had being isekaied to the same time-line as the MC

In the servant aspect i think sticking with the original should be ideal, him summoning Fran would open interesting interactions and, just trowing ideas here man, potential romance trying to use the grail to heal his sister and "fix" Fran mental state as well incarnate her. ps sorry for the bad english

please no Yuri, every interesting story with a female mc ends up as a yuri

Why a system out of the blue? The progression bar and the word quest really take the suspense out of the situation and appear far too modern for someone like Merlin......

I think you should give him a normal shikai, nothing too powerful or overpowered, as you already have told that his bankai will be op so it will be a nice balance and will give the MC challenges in battle and a reason to train harder. Now on the kidou aspect, you should be careful and try just use the cannon ones for now and later in the story the Mc can make some kidous, and will be more believable ( just nothing too absurdly powerful please), hope that I had been of some help.
