As I've already alluded to, I can see how some could give the statement a pass. To do so, one only needs to give the author the benefit of the doubt and limit the definition of growing to total volume. However, "the brain stops growing" is a common misleading interpretation of the facts. The author could be making that mistake. So it jumped out at me and I called it out. Once again, the brain grows its entire life. It doesn't stop growing simply because its volume peaks. If it didn't grow we could not learn. Also, the volume isn't tied to the regeneration rate alone. As we learn the brain typically shrinks and increases surface area through folding. Also, the age for neuron death outpacing generation for most brain regions is before birth, and unmyelinated cell body volume peaks at age 7. Just saying the situation is complex and such a statement can be misleading. Lastly, resorting to rewording the statement and cherrypicking specific definitions highlights the imprecision of the statement and my initial point.
“Wearing thinly, freezing to death” change to “wearing thin clothing, and freezing to death”
By the same logic you just used: growing isn’t the same as expanding. Sure, if you finetune the definitions of the words or the settings you can make the sentence work. That’s one of the points I was attempting to make with my comment.
Absolutely! Monetary support and positive referrals are the preferred die-hard fan behaviors.
You're so fast!
Is “olympeon” a typo, or a pun? I've never seen this spelling before.
It's an entertaining and well-written story. I knew nothing about K-pop or idles and I was fine. Worth a read. Criticism: Some middle and ending parts of the story are a little too dragged out. Initially it was hard to reconcile the MCs backstory with some of his actions and character, but if the reader can get past the initial hiccups it solidifies. It's hard to get a feel for the rhythm of the songs in text form, but that's not the author's fault. The portrayal of LA struck me as a bit odd as I’m familiar with it. The last minor gripe is everyone gets mesmerized by MC too easily near the end. (I guess he's just that otherworldly?) Try it its good.
I'll tell you why I agree with the reviewer: It lacks real conflict, and every character sounds the same like it’s being roleplayed by one person who’s never seen conflicting opinions and is only there to serve and praise the MCs. It’s only held up by its somewhat mysterious setting, pleasant tone with monotonous wit, and constant slow and detailed progression in power for the MCs. Admittedly it does those things well, but is a woefully incomplete and hollow package. It’s a bit like the rambling daydream of a narcissist. It is surface-level charming without sufficient substance.
Have a good remainder of your vacation then. PS. "Die-hard fan" is referring to those who protest against my review. You are the first, thus "at least one." Die-hard fans tend to adopt "us vs them" mentalities and treat those with conflicting opinions like fated enemies.
Maybe proofread before posting? The purpose of the warning was to persuade biased persons to not take unnecessary offense at the constructive criticism. I was pretty nice about it. At the time of review, there weren't many chapters released. Besides, I’d read all the free chapters available. It wasn’t good enough for me to wait or pay for more. If everyone followed your suggestion, no subpar contracted or incomplete book could be reviewed. Frankly, it doesn't make much sense. However, I am happy that you found enjoyment where I could not. The author has at least one die-hard fan in you.
