Chapter 0: reborn

Chang-Hyun's eyes shot open as he gasped for air, his heart pounding in his chest. He sat up quickly, looking around in confusion. This wasn't the grim, post-apocalyptic world he had come to know so well. Instead, he found himself sitting at a desk in his old classroom from ten years ago.

He looked down at himself, his clothes clean and unblemished. The memories flooded back to him - the excruciating pain of the zombies bitting him with his insides being torn apart by their resilient and massive nails and the fading light of his consciousness. He had been sure that he was going to die. And yet, here he was.

Chang-Hyun rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was hallucinating. But everything felt real, from the cold metal of the desk to the warm sunlight streaming through the window. He glanced around the room, his gaze landing on the whiteboard at the front.

On it was written the date and time - 8:55 AM, December 4th, 2023. Ten years in the past and just 5 hours before the apocalypse began.

Panic rose up in Chang-Hyun's chest. What was happening? Was he trapped in some sort of time warp? Or had he been given a second chance at life? He didn't know the answers to any of these questions, but he knew one thing for sure - he wasn't going to waste this opportunity.

As he sat there in the silent classroom, Chang-Hyun made a decision. He was going to live his life to the fullest, no matter what the cost. He would use his knowledge of the future to become the most powerful being in the world, and he would make sure that he and his loved ones survived in this life from whatever was coming next.
