Runaway Outcast

One year has passed, Kyokou gathers his courage to run away from his home.

"Somebody, help me…"

"Please… Anybody…"

"Come to me… Please…"

A girl said in a calm voice, almost as if she wasn't asking for help.

I was awakened by the alarm on my phone, I set it to vibrate to not alert my parents, I looked at the time and it was 4:00AM. A voice I don't even know seems to bother me so much every night, why does my heart wants to pursue her voice?

My items were already packed. Before leaving, I left a note to my parents.

"Don't attempt to find me, I will never come back if you do so."

I will never come back, I only reassured my parents that I will come back to avoid them searching for me . I set foot outside my house, Nekokami was sleeping inside my backpack.

"Nekokami, ever since I took you in, a girl I don't know keeps appearing in my dream, I am sure that I will find her in Kyoto!"

I said to the sleeping Nekokami with pure determination.

"I'm not sure why I need to find her, but I feel that she needs my help…!"

Suddenly, a downpour of rain fall onto me, I hurried to the bus station, random keys of piano notes started playing in my head as an imagination, reminding me of how my mother was a control-monster to me. It made me sick to my stomach and I clutched my stomach while trying to find a bus.

It wasn't an easy journey traversing from Sendai to Kyoto. Luckily, I found a bus that will lead me to the station at this time of night. I needed to be very careful not to alert anybody. I boarded the bus and went on my way to the station.

"Meow.. Meowrp… Nyaaa…"

Kamineko murmured inside my bag with a sleepy tone, I opened my bag and stroked Kamineko's head to keep her sleeping.

I arrived at the station at 5:30AM, the station opens at 6:00AM, I went inside the restroom and waited there for 30 minutes. I fell asleep on the toilet seat. At 6:20AM, Kamineko lunges at my stomach, waking me up fully. It knocked the wind out of me, but I regained my composure.

"It hurts it hurts it hurts… I'm awake now…"

I said.

"Well, you were hard-asleep! Hmph!"

Kamineko said in a sassy tone.

"Ahh, I must've overslept… Let's keep moving."

I said in a sleepy tone and stood up on the toilet seat where I was sleeping.

I went to the ticket counter and took out some money.

"Hey Kamineko, do you want to board a Shinkansen? Or just a regular train?"

Kyokou asked.

"Are you kidding!? Of course I want to experience the bullet train!"

Kamineko answered with excitement, I took out 15,000¥ from the money I wished for a year ago and went near the counter.

"Where are you headed to?"

The receptionist asked.

"To Tokyo please."

I answered calmly.

"It would be 15,000¥, please put the money in the tray. After your payment, provide me some identification please."

The receptionist said.

My eyes widened in fear and became all sweaty.

"Shit, shit shit shit! I didn't think thoroughly! I forgot I am still a minor! My parents didn't allow me to have a passport! I'm screwed!"

I said in my mind, frantically paranoid.

"On second thought… I change my mind… I won't be going to Tokyo anymo-"

"Ohh! I have been looking for you everywhere Sendo-Kun! You shouldn't be running away like that!"

I was abruptly interrupted by a girl, she had glasses and a ponytail, her bangs had cut in the middle, her voice was seemingly familiar… She looks like a teenager like me…

"Sendo-kunn…?"

I pointed to myself.

"Jeez, are you still half-awake!? We'll be late to our venue in Tokyo!"

The girl said in a matured yet childish tone, she faced the cashier and leaned over the reception

"Hey miss! Make it a 2 ticket to Tokyo! My brother here is wandering off, now we will be late!"

She said in a believable voice and handed over her part of 15,000¥ and gave her passport in a rush, I caught a glimpse of her age and she was 22!?

"H-huh, oh right away! But I would still need his ID-"

The cashier said before being cut off by her

"Oh please can you just let it go? My idiot brother will make us late to our performance!

"It's very important in our family tradition! They would announce me as the next heir!"

I just realised something, this girl wouldn't stop sharing things about herself!

Me and the girl finally sat down the Shinkansen and we both sighed heavily in relief and the girl laughed.

"I can't believe I managed to save you! Thanks to my great acting skills fufuu…!"

The girl bragged while smiling in pride, I couldn't understand why I get goosebumps, additionally chills down my spine whenever she talks. I responded not wanting to ignore the girl.

"I guess so, Thank you."

I responded and praised her, the girl felt weird when you talked, whenever you talk, there was also a chill down her spine. She held onto her shoulders and stroked it continuously.

"Brr… It suddenly became cold… Anyways, it's nothing hehe! What's your name?"

"I'm Kyokou Kazeharu, I'm… 22 years old! I'm actually heading to Tokyo for a business trip! But I forgot my passport ehe…"

I scratched the back of my head, I didn't want to risk it by telling the truth, I can't trust anyone.

"Hmm… nice to meet you, my name is Yumeko Ito."

I suddenly felt the sudden change of her attitude. She was cold to him now, I wanted to ask what's wrong but I was too fed up with shyness to even move an inch on his seat.

"Hey… I saved your butt, and you reward me with a lie and thank you?

She stared at me with a deathly gaze, I had no choice but to tell the truth.

"Ahh! Sorry! I'm actually 15 ehee… I ran away from my home… I don't want to share the reasons why… I'm actually heading to Kyoto, but there's no route from Sendai to Kyoto, so I needed to stop at Tokyo first."

She looked at me with a new emotion, she was surprised and amazed, she changed her attitude very quickly.

"... Woah…!! A 15 year-old runaway! That's rare haha! I'm also heading to Kyoto! You can stay in my place for a bit, I'm sure grandma would allow it!"

"Ehh? Haven't you done enough? Well… I do need a place to stay… So..."

Everytime she talks, I get a weird feeling inside me… What is this feeling? It feels like I've heard her voice before… Where and when? A goosebump always appears whenever she talks… Is this love? No it can't be, I just met her today…
