Chapter 58: find Adil

Abhimanyu spotted Riya, Aakash, and Bhawna as he was walking down the corridor.

He said, "I just received a mission, and you've got the details."

Riya replied, "Yes, let's start the investigation."

Abhimanyu suggested, "First, we need to find out about that sweet."

Riya explained, "Chaube doesn't deal in weapons anymore, but he might have some men who are secretly involved. Or it could be Kapil Mehta's gang."

Abhimanyu inquired, "How many hideouts does Kapil Mehta have?"

Riya replied, "We don't know, but he is involved in weapons dealings too."

Abhimanyu decided, "Let's make a list of Chaube's trusted men who haven't left the gang."

Later that evening, as they were discussing, a man ran into them and collided with the wall.

Abhimanyu asked him, "You're just into stealing cars and minor kidnappings, right?"

The man threatened, "You don't know who I am. I have many men with me who will kill you."

Abhimanyu kicked him and subdued him, saying, "Tell me if you deal in weapons."

The man revealed, "Tripathi's gang used to get weapons from Rohila gang in Baghpat."

Abhimanyu knocked him unconscious.

Abhimanyu then went to a cafe and began sipping his juice with a straw. Soon, Riya, Aakash, and Bhawna arrived.

Riya said, "These people don't deal in weapons anymore."

Abhimanyu said, "We have two options: Kapil Mehta or Baghpat gang."

Bhawna asked, "Will our approach work? I mean, if they don't buy from either, then?"

Abhimanyu explained, "There are three ways weapons come illegally into Delhi: through Tripathi, Chaube, or Mehta. Tripathi is out, so let's focus on Mehta first."

Riya agreed, "Mehta seems more likely."

Abhimanyu suggested, "Let's catch Mehta first and ask him directly."

Riya asked, "Where can we find him?"

Abhimanyu replied, "His car is parked near a restaurant, and I know who's there."

Riya inquired, "Who?"

Abhimanyu answered, "Mehta's wife, daughter, and son, Rohit Mehta. They're probably having lunch, but we don't have time to wait."

A while later, they all arrived outside a restaurant, which looked luxurious yet not overly expensive. It was close to Delhi University.

Inside, Kapil Mehta and his family were having lunch. Rashika and her mother seemed calm, showing little interest, while Rohit was engrossed in conversation with his father.

Kapil pleaded, "I'm getting out of this business and leaving all illegal activities. Please come back, Drishti."

Drishti, Rohit, and Rashika's mother, remained silent, as they had since the divorce.

Kapil said to Rashika and Rohit, "Do you know, kids, that I brought your mother here to this restaurant first and proposed to her?"

Rohit replied, "Mom must have immediately said yes then."

Kapil continued, "Initially, she was showing a lot of attitude and left without saying a word. For a week, she didn't talk to me. But suddenly, one day, I was alone in my class, watching the rain outside the window. She came running in from the ground and then into the building. I was about to go see what happened, but then I remembered that we weren't even talking. A few minutes later, the class gate opened. She looked very beautiful that day, with wet hair and tears in her eyes, and her wet clothes..."

Drishti signaled to Kapil not to delve into deeper details.

Kapil understood and continued, "Then she came to me, hugged me, started crying, and kept saying 'I love you' repeatedly."

Rashika asked Drishti, "Why did you do that?"

Drishti replied, "My family had found a match for me. I was considering it when he proposed. At first, I liked him because he only focused on studies and stayed away from violence. But after the proposal, I was confused. After thinking for many days, I finally told my family that I love someone else. They asked for his details, but when they didn't approve, they rejected him completely. They even started pressuring me to come back home. For two days, I resisted, but then one day, my brother came to take me, and I ran away. It was raining that day, and I knew he was in my class, so I went there."

At that moment, Abhimanyu and Riya arrived. Aakash and Bhawna were sitting at a table nearby.

Abhimanyu said, "The story is interesting. What happened next?"

Rohit stood up and said, "You and her here..."

Abhimanyu greeted Drishti, "Hello, aunty."

Drishti replied, "Hello, son."

Abhimanyu introduced himself, "I'm Abhimanyu, Rohit's classmate, and this is my sister."

Drishti greeted them as well and invited them to join.

Abhimanyu and Riya then sat at the empty chairs next to Kapil. Abhimanyu looked at Kapil and said, "It's good to see you again."

Kapil replied with a simple hello, feeling uneasy due to his recent encounter with Abhimanyu's strength and his knowledge about Pratap singh family.

Rashika was feeling a bit anxious, afraid that Abhimanyu might reveal her car racing secret to Drishti, so she ignored him.

Drishti asked Abhimanyu about his parents, and he replied that his mother is a businesswoman and a fashion designer, while his father is in the army. Abhimanyu mentioned that he lives alone with friends and cousins in the city.

Drishti praised Abhimanyu for his independence and mentioned her own large family.

Abhimanyu then asked Drishti about her family, and she revealed that she no longer lives with them due to a conflict arising from her marriage to the wrong person.

Rohit interrupted, questioning Drishti's account of their father being a good person before. But no one responded.

Rohit then told Abhimanyu that he was disturbing them and should leave.

Abhimanyu responded, "I don't want to ruin anyone's family meeting. I came here to meet Mr. Kapil Mehta alone for some work."

Rohit insisted that Abhimanyu leave, and Drishti expressed her concern for Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu said to Kapil, "I need some information."

Kapil asked, "What kind of information?"

Abhimanyu replied, "It would be better if we talk alone."

Drishti intervened, "Whatever discussion happens, will be at this table."

Abhimanyu glanced at Kapil.

Kapil said, "I'm shutting down all my businesses, so you can say whatever you want."

Abhimanyu said, "Alright, I'll ask directly. Have you sold weapons or explosives to anyone between the day before yesterday and today?"

Drishti was surprised to hear about explosives.

Kapil replied, "I've seized all the weapons that were brought to me, and the remaining ones are still in my underground warehouse."

Abhimanyu asked, "Where is this warehouse, and how many of your men know about it?"

Kapil said, "Only I and my man Ranga know about it, and it's near Laxmi Nagar."

Abhimanyu asked, "Where can I find this Ranga?"

Kapil, feeling uneasy, asked, "What are you planning to do?"

Abhimanyu looked at him angrily, so Kapil nervously said, "I'll call him and find out."

Kapil started calling Ranga when a man nearby got up and took out his phone.

Abhimanyu noticed this and whispered something to Riya.

Riya got up from the table and went to the corner where the man had gone. She took his phone. Seeing this, the man tried to grab it back, but Riya dodged him. Infuriated, he tried to punch Riya, but she kicked him, making him fall. Seeing this, some of Kapil's men aimed guns at Abhimanyu, Riya, Kapil, and his family. Then, all the customers in the restaurant also took out guns and aimed at them, including Aakash and Bhawna.

Kapil became very frightened when he saw that these people had their guns aimed at his family as well.

Abhimanyu chuckled and said, "Looks like a whole parade was seated here."

Kapil asked his men, "What are you all doing?"

Riya noticed that someone had taken that man's phone and was trying to make calls.

That man got up and took the phone from Riya, saying, "Boss, things have gotten a bit messy. Kapil and his family are here, and there are others looking for you regarding the weapons."

On the other side, another man said, "Alright, bring them all to our warehouse, and then we'll decide the fate of these uninvited guests."

The other man asked, "What about Kapil and his family?"

The man replied, "Bring them too. It would be better to finish them all together. But make sure no one sees them. Delete the CCTV footage from the restaurant and bring them here in cars."

The man said, "Okay, boss."

After hanging up, Kapil said, "This is all Ranga's plan."

The man replied, "Ranga is now the new leader of the Mehta gang, sorry, I mean the Surma gang."

Abhimanyu chuckled lightly and said, "Surma gang? So Ranga got nothing more than that. Well, let's go meet this Ranga of yours."

They all got into cars and headed to the warehouse. When they arrived, they found about 10 to 12 boxes of guns, ammunition, and explosives.

Abhimanyu remarked, "I thought you said it was a warehouse full of weapons, but there's only a little here. Is this all that's left with the Mehta gang?"

Kapil replied, "Yes, this is all that's left, but 5 boxes of explosives and one box of guns and ammunition are missing."

Just then, Ranga arrived and asked, "How are you, boss?"

Abhimanyu recognized him and said, "So, this is Ranga. He seems quite thin.

Ranga said I remember you, you were the one who get kidnapped by our boss. But then, the police caught the boss. I should be thanking for that. I managed to escape, and the police caught my boss, which allowed me to take over this gang. I couldn't believe that my boss was planning to leave the gang, but he wanted to take all the money with him, which I couldn't allow. If he had taken all the money, what would we have gotten? We still need to run the gang."

Abhimanyu said , so you wanted to kill kapil mehta at that restaurant where his legacy started.

Ranga shook his head and said, "No, Kapil and his family, and then there would have been a blast in that restaurant. But you ruined my plan by coming there. So I brought you here instead. I heard you were looking for me."

Abhimanyu said, "It's good that you came straight to the point. I just wanted to know if you've been selling weapons between the day before yesterday and today."

Ranga said, "Before you die, you wanted to know that..."

Abhimanyu interrupted, "Just tell me by thinking that it's my last wish."

Ranga admitted, "Yes, I did sell them, but I can't reveal their names; it's our policy."

Drishti then spoke up to Kapil Mehta, saying, "You've seen the consequence of becoming a gangster. Today, we're all going to die because of you."

In anger, Kapil said to Ranga, "You're betraying me? Have you forgotten how many times I've saved your life? I even gave you power and helped you when you needed it the most."

Ranga replied, "Yes, but did you do any favors? I've also taken bullets for you. You owe me nothing."

Angrily, Kapil retorted, "Ingrate!"

Ranga replied nonchalantly, "Whatever happens now, happens. It's dirty, but it's business."

Kapil challenged, "What difference does it make? Do you think you can survive in Delhi? Haven't you seen that Tripathi has already taken over a large part of Delhi? I say, the time has come for you to give up all this. In the end, there will only be a bullet in your head."

Abhimanyu remarked, "Wow, what a realization."

Ranga then said, "Alright, then there's a bullet written for you too," as he aimed at Kapil's forehead.

Drishti stepped forward and pleaded, "Please don't kill him. We'll give you all our money and property, and leave from here. We'll never show our faces in Delhi again. Please let us go."

Ranga replied, "It's a good offer, but I don't want to spare any wounded enemies. So, I'm sorry, but you'll have to die, and then I'll seize your money and property."

Drishti's eyes turned red with anger as she said, "You still don't know about my family. If they find out that you're the one trying to kill me, they'll give you a punishment that will make you prefer death."

Ranga retorted, "I know who your family is, but I also know that they've disowned you, and you have no place in that family anymore."

Drishti replied, "Even though they've disowned me, I still have a blood relationship with them. According to that, they'll seek revenge not because you tried to kill me, but because of whose blood is inside me."

Ranga said, "That's true, but who will tell them?, and you all will die here."

Abhimanyu chuckled and said, "You'll kill me? Do you even have the capability?"

Ranga then pointed his gun at Abhimanyu's forehead.

Kapil advised, "I suggest you remove the gun from his forehead."

Ranga then approached Kapil, laughing, and said, "Now you've started worrying about him?

Kapil said Don't say later that I didn't warn you."

Abhimanyu had been observing everything, realizing that only the restaurant staff were there, a total of 19 thugs, and he was armed with a pistol.

Abhimanyu immediately snatched the gun from Ranga's hand, aimed it at him, and yelled, "If anyone moves from their place, I'll shoot them!" At that moment, someone from Abhimanyu's blind spot began to raise a gun towards him. Abhimanyu shot him in the forehead, then returned the gun to Ranga's forehead, saying, "I won't repeat myself. Everyone, throw your weapons away!"

Ranga, shocked by Abhimanyu's quick reaction, was too scared to think straight. He ordered everyone to throw their guns away, and they all complied.

Aakash, Riya, and Bhawna immediately picked up the discarded pistols and aimed them at the thugs.

Abhimanyu demanded, "Now tell me, what did you sell to them and for how much?"

Ranga, trembling, replied, "I sold them assault rifles, ammunition, and three timed bombs."

Abhimanyu smiled and asked, "And who did you sell all this to?"

Ranga stammered, "I don't know. He bought those weapons from us online through the darknet."

Abhimanyu inquired further, "Alright, where did you deliver all those weapons?" As he spoke, a man sneaked towards the gate of the warehouse, but before he could flee, Abhimanyu shot him in the head, rendering him unconscious.

Abhimanyu warned, "I have eyes behind my back too, so stop trying to be clever."

Kapil's family watched in fear, but Abhimanyu had urgent matters to attend to.

Abhimanyu pressed on, "Quickly, tell me."

Ranga, now even more frightened, said, "I was told to drop off everything near Laxmi Nagar."

Abhimanyu ordered, "Take us to that location."

Ranga complied.

Abhimanyu then noticed the presence of the remaining thugs and asked Aakash, "How long until the police arrive?"

The police arrived promptly, as Aakash had arranged earlier, and arrested everyone.

Abhimanyu completely ignored Kapil Mehta and his family, walking away with his allies and Ranga.

Drishti, surprised, exclaimed, "Why didn't the police say anything to that boy?"

Kapil replied, "You didn't recognize the boy with him. He's Detective Aakash."

Drishti, puzzled, said, "He's a famous detective, but the boywho kills people in front of him, yet he doesn't say anything?"

Kapil explained, "He's his younger brother."

Rohit remembered something and asked, "Mom, you never told us about your family."

Drishti replied, "You don't need to know about them because we don't have any relationship with them anymore."

Rohit thought to himself, "Sangeeta Mam is Mom's childhood friend; she must know."

Meanwhile, Abhimanyu reached the location with Ranga after some time. It was a bustling area with no CCTV cameras, but the car was still there.

Aakash called the vehicle department and found out that the number plate was fake.

Abhimanyu speculated, "Seems like this car is stolen, and the number plate was used just for illegal weapon transactions."

He searched the surroundings but found nothing. The police and Aakash's team also searched, but to no avail.

Abhimanyu noticed two cameras at the end of the street and at the end of an alley. He suggested checking them.

They went to the traffic department and started examining the CCTV footage. Abhimanyu fast-forwarded until he saw Ranga placing bags near the car and leaving.

After an hour of scrutinizing, Abhimanyu spotted a man passing by empty-handed after Ranga left. They identified him as Aadil, a game company tester.

Abhimanyu asked for Aadil's current location. Saily checked and informed that his phone was switched off, but his last location was at home two hours ago.

Abhimanyu concluded, "The car has been here for a month, and nobody checked or complained about it. It seems like nobody cared. Besides, it's a junk car worth around 10,000."

Abhimanyu said, "Okay, show me the footage when this car was brought here."

In the footage, a car passed by the camera, but the driver's face wasn't clear.

Abhimanyu instructed, "Let's see who passed by the other camera, the one that didn't cross this camera."

Saily immediately spotted a man.

She said, "That's Adil."

Abhimanyu decided, "Alright, let's search for him."

They fast-forwarded through the footage in the surveillance room and initiated an operation to find Adil.

Despite the police and forces' search efforts, Adil wasn't found at his home or office, even though it was nearly 10 PM.

While Abhimanyu and his team searched Adil's home, Aakash found a piece of paper in a pile of garbage. It had faintly visible words matching the paper's color.

Abhimanyu scanned the paper and edited the text's shades on the computer, revealing some words, but not all were clear.

He concluded, "We need to get this checked by the intelligence department."

Aakash collected the paper as evidence along with other items and data from his computer.

When Abhimanyu reached the police station, he found Kapil and his family still there. Kapil had confessed to his crimes, which could lead to a reduced sentence, maybe just a year.

Ignoring Abhimanyu, the Commissioner continued his interrogation. Meanwhile, an officer came in with new information.

He said, "Sir, we got a lead."

The Commissioner asked, "What did you find?"

The officer replied, "An hour ago, he was near Seelampur metro station. He was wearing a hoodie and a mask, but his face was visible during entry at Laxmi Nagar metro station."

Abhimanyu instructed, "Show us the footage."

They watched as a man with a hoodie and mask exited the station.

Abhimanyu instructed, "Let's see where else he appears."

They examined other footage, and in one, Adil was seen with a girl named Haseena.

Abhimanyu recognized her from the area and suggested, "They seem close. They might be at her place."

He pretended to use his phone and played another footage for the Commissioner, showing Adil's presence in the area.

The Commissioner watched the footage attentively.

Abhimanyu continued, "He often comes to this area to meet a girl named Haseena."

The Commissioner was intrigued, "How do you know, and where did you get this footage?"

Abhimanyu showed him videos from his phone, proving Adil's frequent visits to the area.

He explained, "I have my sources, but for now, we should focus on apprehending him, as he might still be at the girl's house."

The Commissioner ordered, "You're not going anywhere. You'll stay here. Aakash, take a team and go to the girl's house immediately."

Abhimanyu glanced at Riya, but she ignored him.

Aakash and Riya left with a team.

The Commissioner then asked, "So, how did you find out all this?"

Abhimanyu replied, "I have some sources."

The Commissioner inquired, "You hacked?"

Abhimanyu denied, "No, a friend helped me."
