CHAPTER ONE: The Rainfall.

Whatever is written here is just fiction and made up.

Do not take it seriously or for real as no references are used to real cities.

It was midnight and raining heavily.

Chakrii Malivalaya had the windscreen wipers on her windscreen pushing the falling droplets of water that fell on the windscreen aside.

Her hands had tightly held the steering wheel as she drove on the wet and slippery road that was only lit by the dim overhead street lights.

Chakrii Malivalaya's eyes were glued to the road in front of her as she ordered her satnav in her car to find for her a less slippery road.

"What is the safest route to Kannika." Chakrii Malivalaya asked the satnav which let out a blue screen which then switched to maps go and the AI female voice pronounced.

"Through Khaji park, keep safe and observe the traffic lights since the roads are very slippery due to the falling rain." The AI female voice concluded.

Chakrii Malivalaya nodded her head and swerved to the right of the road at the intersection.

She had entered a new lane which she drove in comfortably.

There was minimal noise from the outside as the Khaji Park road was not crowded due to the falling rainfall and the time since most of the people were fast asleep.

Chakrii Malivalaya was sitting her car on the highway driving back to residential villa at night in complete and utter silence, and all that was visible were the bright lights from the skyscrapers and neighboring cars.

The light from the street reflected off the car as she approached it.

The water on the parts of the road shimmered by the glow of the bright, yellow street lamps.

The small, green trees on the roadside swayed as the strong breezes accompanied by the falling raindrops hit them.

Above a faded zebra crossing, a traffic light frantically changed colors seeming rather like a disco light.

A watchman snored comfortably on his dark brown stool under the protection of his shops's roof.

Huge giant buildings stood besides the street, quiet as if taken over by an army of libraries.

Some windows gave out white and yellow lights, but the others were pitch black.

It seemed like the clouds had gotten a sudden fascination to the moon and wrapped themselves around it.

The moon's faint glow passed through them, coloring them white from grey.

The cool monsoon air carried a sweet moist scent like a candy shop kept inside a refrigerator.

The pattering of the rain, which was now deaf to ears, was interrupted time by time during the night.

Once a car passed by some block of flats.

Stray dogs began barking, while the deafening music from Chakrii Malivalaya's car echoed around the street.

It was a bit dark than usual because of the nimbus clouds up above on the skies.

And the street lights couldn't properly light every part of the roads.

There was little traffic, and most cars sped away a bit over the limits.

The storefronts were devoid of displays, which was just as well, because only a few people would stop there to admire them as they held up their umbrellas.

Cars sat empty along the curb, collecting the falling rain drops.

The streetlamps that weren't burned out projected little circles of white light onto an empty, cracked sidewalk.
