Test

Travis stood in the middle of the room, Tsunade and Jiraiya in front of him as they examined him. He didn't know what to say, realizing the awkward situation he was in.

"Travis, how old are you?" Tsunade asked.

'I died as a teen, so I'll be a teen here as well,' he thought.

"I'm 16," he said.

'He's certainly young, literally as old as Naruto and Sakura. He seems very strong, maybe even stronger than the two, but we aren't sure about that.'

"Have you ever been a ninja before?"

"No, I have not. Always been a normal guy," he replied.

"Would you be interested in becoming one? It's very easy, you know," she said.

"What would that help me with?"

"Well, firstly, becoming a ninja, you automatically become a part of this village. So, I'd recommend you do so."

'Hmm, yeah, that's true. But I hate tests. Even though it doesn't take much to become a genin. I don't really have Chakra, though there is nothing stopping me from adapting to it.'

"Um, sure. What is needed?"

"All you have to do is do two things: Clone Jutsu and be checked by a Jonin. If you do that now, I'll ask that you get checked by Kakashi since he is testing his team now."

'So basically, I can join Team Seven. What about Sai, though? He was pretty much fodder so screw him,' he thought. 'Time to get Chakra in veins for now.'

He sensed the energy in this world and immediately began to absorb some, not too much, though.

'Since I know nothing about the Clone jutsu, I'll just make a shadow clone,' he thought.

He crossed both his two extended fingers together and said the words in his head, since that would be cringe. Immediately, another person appeared in a smoke cloud.

Tsunade and Jiraiya were shocked to their core; Travis just used a forbidden technique, something that has been locked in the archives, a jutsu only one person can do currently without much problem, which was Naruto.

"Um, where did you learn that?" Tsunade asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know. Well, though it's a forbidden Jutsu, you never pressed Naruto against using it."

When Jiraiya heard that, he couldn't help but agree, though he didn't wish to admit.

'Naruto is a special case. Unlike most people, he has a ton of Chakra reserves, so we simply swept it under the carpet.'

"Okay, well, you pass. So let's go and get you tested by Kakashi, one of our best Jonins."

They left the Tower, going towards the training grounds where the first-ever test took place in the original anime. When seeing the stump where Naruto was tied up once, Travis got slapped by nostalgia.

Though he wasn't much of a fan of the Naruto series, he did watch it a couple of times on repeat. And he didn't necessarily hate it; he just got to realize many plot holes the story left which ruined his experience.

Like, for example, who killed Hashirama, what happened to Senju and the Uzumaki clan; there are many more questions he'd like to receive answers to, but since the anime ended, he simply gave up.

He saw the three currently talking; suddenly all of them began to sulk.

'Guess they just mentioned Sasuke,' he thought.

Kakashi turned; when seeing Travis, he immediately placed his guard up.

'Damn, bro, I ain't do nothing to you.'

"Travis is interested in becoming a Genin; he has already performed the Clone jutsu and since you're already taking the test, why not let him join y'all? I hope you don't mind, Kakashi."

'I don't, it's just that this guy has a weird aura around him. As if he could literally destroy me without even lifting a finger. Something I've only ever felt when training with Sensei back then,' he thought.

"Sure, you can join us. Naruto, Sakura, get along with Travis for now. Don't worry; he won't be replacing Sasuke in any way or form. Now let's begin, just like last time, you will be trying to get the bells, but this time you two, not sure about Travis, but you are full-fledged Shinobi, meaning we're on equal terms. Due to that, I'll be taking this seriously."

He lifted his eye patch, revealing his fully matured Sharingan. The two got serious as well, while Travis simply stood there, wondering how he could help everyone.

'I'm too strong; also, the point of this test was to test our teamwork, but I doubt that is the same since they're already in the team. I'll just support when needed,' he thought. 'Oh, didn't they win because he didn't want to be spoiled?'

Travis walked forward and stood between them. He leaned towards Sakura and whispered in her ear; she immediately blushed, but the second she heard what he had to say, she smiled.

"Good idea. Naruto, come over here," she said; he did since he was scared of her for some reason. She whispered what Travis had told her, which made him smile. The three of them began to chuckle as if they were about to murder someone; Kakashi gulped, for some reason, he felt like he was in real trouble.

Naruto began to sprint forward, while Sakura went around the back. Kakashi could easily see both of their movements at the same time; he pulled out his kunai and threw them towards them both. Naruto created a shadow clone, which boosted him, sending him high into the air. His Kunai hit the clone while Naruto stayed airborne for a moment. Then he made another Clone, which he threw towards Kakashi.

'What's his plan? I still have Sakura in my line of sight, the same with Travis. He doesn't even seem to care about this fight. But he didn't tell them something before we started, so he must have a plan,' he thought.

Kakashi moved out of the way; immediately when the Clone landed, Naruto switched places with it.

"Hey Kakashi sensei, the last joke of the Ich Ica tactics!!" He shouted; when hearing this, Kakashi first thought he was joking, but then he remembered who Naruto used to travel with.

'No!'

He immediately covered his eyes, but his eyes were still on him, which meant he could read his mouth so he did that as well; without him noticing, Sakura was already behind him; she took the bells and rang them.

"We win," she said, passing one to Naruto.

Kakashi slowly opened his eyes and turned towards the two.

'Huh? It was all planned,' he thought.

"Hehe, a ninja should look underneath, what's underneath. Isn't that right? Kakashi Sensei."

He turned towards Travis, who was nowhere to be seen; he then looked back at the two and saw him behind them.

'He's fast; he could have easily finished this test. Yet he didn't. Who are you really?' He thought.

Tsunade and Jiraiya, who were observing, were extremely shocked upon seeing how fast he was.

"Reminds me of a student of mine," he said.

"Yes, he might be more useful than we expected," she said.
