Yggdrasil’s Developer

The story follows a man that was reincarnated into the future, or so he thought. Instead, he was reincarnated into the world of Earth 2138, where he found a job as a developer for a game. "Hmm, I must have seen this game idea somewhere, it seems familiar," "Wait, isn't this Overlord?!?!" Note: Not a plot following fanfic. Rewriting some mistakes made in the early chapters.

As Yuki and Nishikienrai arrived at the Great Tomb of Nazarick, they were met with a tense atmosphere. A Nephilim with fierce eyes, who introduced himself as Warrior Takemikazuchi, quickly approached them, his gaze fixed on Yuki.

"Who brought a human here?" he demanded.

Before Yuki could even respond, a regal dragon known as Ancient One stepped forward, announcing that Yuki was with Nishikienrai.

Not long after, a frogman by the name of Flatfoot chimed in, requesting an explanation from Nishikienrai.

"He is the snow merchant," Nishikienrai spoke up.

The crab, Amanomahitotsu, then spoke up, recognizing Yuki as the one who brought him items.

Momonga, a skeleton draped in mage's robes, followed up, inquiring if Yuki was also the one who brought the Necronomicon.

"Indeed, I am," Yuki confirmed, before Nishikienrai interjected, urging the group to put down their weapons.

"He's a friend," he emphasized.

Undeterred by the previous hostility, Yuki calmly announced his identity as the Snow Merchant and outlined the purpose of his visit.

"I'm the Snow Merchant Nishikienrai talked about. Should you all know my wares and my purpose of visiting," Yuki stated, maintaining his composure.

Momonga, acknowledging the group's earlier treatment of Yuki, offered an apology on their behalf.

"Right, sorry Merchant-san. We were not friendly towards humans for the reasons you should've known," he said.

Bukubukuchagama, a voice actor, then spoke up, apologizing in a cutesy voice.

"Yes, Merchant-onichan. We are sowwy tehe~," she chimed in.

Peroronchino, who was Bukubukuchagama's brother, also expressed his remorse for the group's initial hostility.

"Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding and thank you for the bow," he said.

The conversation continued in hushed tones, with Yuki, the Snow Merchant, being the center of attention. Momonga, the guild master, had eased the tension between the group with his understanding of the rivalry that existed between human and monster players in Yggdrasil.

"Right back to business," Yuki said, taking out a sword. "I believe someone ordered this."

Touch Me, a prominent member of the guild, took the sword from Yuki and inspected it closely. "Whoa, this sword looks amazing. Wait! Is this a divine class item?"

Momonga, taken aback by Touch Me's words, asked in disbelief, "Wait, a divine class item!?"

Yuki nodded, confirming the rarity of the sword. "Yes, and another one is... an information for unexplored data mine."

Momonga's interest was piqued. "Oh, where is it? Is it close by?"

Yuki nodded again. "Yes, from the back of this tomb, just walk until you find a hill, and dig there."

Peroronchino, confused, asked, "That's it? If it's that simple, how come we don't know about it?"

Bukubukuchagama interjected, "Because you're a dummy," sparking an argument between herself and Peroronchino that quickly died down.

Yuki continued, "Yes, and another one is for Mr. Skelly here. There is an old hag in the town of Volholt here in Helheim. I think it will be useful for you."

With a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude towards Yuki for the valuable information, the group wasted no time in compensating him with the items he requested. The eclectic collection of items was an odd assortment of monster meats, fertile soil, dead soil, various monster parts, and an abundance of expertly crafted explosives, thanks to the efforts of Lucifer and Amanomahitotsu. Despite the seemingly low value of the items in comparison to what Yuki had provided, the group paid without hesitation, knowing the importance of honor and respect in this virtual world.

Once Yuki confirmed the payment, the group bid their farewells, content in their transactions, and left to continue their quests. Yuki, on the other hand, was ready to embark on the next stage of his grand plan:

Project Deidara.

As time passed, the virtual world of Yggdrasil flourished with an ever-increasing number of players. In the Human realms of Asgard, Álfheim, Vanaheim, Niðavellir, and Midgard, players went about their daily business, engrossed in the game's mechanics and intricacies.

However, a foreboding premonition loomed over them, threatening to disrupt their peaceful lives. Suddenly, explosions rocked the realms, and players were left bewildered as they scrambled to find the source of the chaos. No one claimed responsibility, leaving the players to speculate and piece together clues.

As more and more players shared their experiences on the game's forums, a troubling pattern emerged. The explosions were not isolated incidents but instead occurred all across the Human realms, from Asgard to Álfheim, Vanaheim, Niðavellir, and Midgard.

The players were initially skeptical about the price of the item, thinking it was too good to be true. However, upon discovering that it was indeed authentic, they were pleasantly surprised. They couldn't help but wonder why Yuki had not charged more for such a valuable item, but they were grateful for the good deal. They realized that Yuki was a fair and honest seller, which only added to their trust in their expertise. Despite their initial doubts, they were satisfied with their purchase and eager to make use of the valuable information it provided.

Some players vowed to band together to uncover the truth and put an end to the chaos. Others chose to remain vigilant, keeping a watchful eye out for any suspicious activity. And still, others began to question whether the game they once loved was now a breeding ground for malevolence.

As the threat of disaster loomed, the players of Yggdrasil were forced to confront an uncertain future, where nothing was as it seemed and danger lurked around every corner.

Silksuntecks Holy Slayers (Verified): Has anyone else experienced the explosions in the game? It's starting to get really concerning.

WildWestMage: Yeah, I've seen them too. I thought it was just a glitch or something, but now I'm not so sure.

CultivationNinja: I've seen them too, and it's definitely not a glitch. There's something going on.

Interligntdud: I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it. This is supposed to be a game, not a warzone.

Yuka_Takaoka_is_waifu: Maybe it's just some kind of event? You know how game developers like to keep things interesting.

MysticMarshal: No, this is different. The explosions are too frequent and too random to be an event.

ArcaneOutlaw: I think we should start investigating this. Maybe we can find some clues or something.

LittleRookie: Yeah, count me in. We need to get to the bottom of this before things get worse.

PervySage: I'm not sure I want to get involved in this. It sounds dangerous.

DevilChild: That's exactly why we need to band together. There's safety in numbers.

OneeyedGrimReaper: I'm with you guys. Let's figure out what's going on and stop it.

RedHair: I'm not so sure this is a good idea. We could just report it to the game developers and let them handle it.

ClanKiller: Reporting it to the developers is all well and good, but they might not take it seriously. We need to show them that we're serious about this.

MlonEusk: I agree. Let's gather as much information as we can and present it to the developers.

ProfessorPimp: Ever thought that it was a player?

Meanwhile, the culprit of all the commotion was laughing maniacally and looking at the message on the game screen in front of him.

[Whose side are you on? Are you even human? Is it true that you are human? What is even a human? Are you a monster in a human skin? What is even a monster? You didn't eat like a human. So you must be a monster, and yet you are a human. But are you really a human?]

[Congratulations, you have unlocked a hidden race!]

A/N: I can't believe I have to write this, no he won't be an egg face. he was a shapeshifter, more specifically an avatar shifter. so he could switch between races and their special abilities. their appearance and their unique race traits. So he could be a fallen angel, change to an incubus the next second, dragon, human, elf, vampire, and so on. what I think is if for example, he was a fallen angel then he was limited to the abilities of a fallen angel, remember Yuki was the dev for Yggdrasil so he made that race playable. Would you really think that he as a developer could only limit himself to one race when he knew that the game will become a reality? Would you live for possibly an eternity within the limits of a certain race?
