CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

LEAH/JAMIE'S POV

Logan's car slowed down in front of large double iron gates, over fifteen feet tall, with eagles on either side of the gate.

The gates slowly opened and the driver of the Town car, manoeuvre it unto the spiral driveway.

From the angel of the car driving through the long spiral driveway all I could see were a beautifully kept forested area. With all of the twists and turns on the driveway I was focused looking to the left and right that I missed the view in front of me.

Logan held the back of my head in the palm of his hand and points in front of us chuckling.

My mouth opened in awe, at the sight before me.

At the end of all the massive trees and well kept bushes, stood a massive mansion with a slightly modern outlook. Other than that it looked like a queen's castle.

"F**k, are you taking me to a dungeon to hold me captive?" Was all that came out of mouth.

Laughing loudly, causing even the elderly chauffeur to laugh out loud.

Looking at us in the rearview mirror, "I believe that since young Mr. Daniels married you, you've been his captive" the elderly man continues to laugh.

Embarrass, I turned my head into Logan's shoulder, as the car starts to slow down.

"This spiral driveway sure makes it hard to drive fast, huh?" I asked openly.

Laughing loudly, " Logan can definitely prove you wrong on that" the chauffeur says, turning to look at us as the car stops in front of huge wooden double doors.

Turning to smile at Logan, whose mischievous laughing eyes were on me.

"Before we go in there, just remember to ignore all the talk of my childhood and teenage years. It could scare you from having my kids." Logan chuckles as the driver laughs opening his door.

"Make sure I'm retired by then, please" the chauffeur pleads, stepping out of the car, as Logan also opens his door.

Taking Logan's hand, as I followed him out of the vehicle, "You were that terrible, huh?" I ask him as he leans behind me to shut the door.

The elderly chauffeur's eyes crinkled with laughter, "meet me for a few cups of coffee, and I'll tell you all about it" he volunteers, to fill me in on Logan's childhood traits.

As we started ascending the wide stairs to the front door, I held Logan's hand in mines.

"Whose in there?" I asked seriously.

The chauffeur walking ahead of us turned to Logan with am annoyed expression, "you didn't forewarned her about where you're bringing her?" he asks

Frowning, "ignore him Jamie, it's a surprise" he told me, pulling me closer to him glaring at the chuckling chauffeur.

As we walked up the stairs, I clung to Logan's arm, "come on Ralph, you're scaring my wife" Logan tells the chauffeur, throwing an arm around my shoulder.

"As if marrying you isn't scary enough" the chauffeur mutters loudly.

The wide doors opens, and an elderly greyed head gentleman walks with open arms towards us, "I'm so happy, my boy is finally married" the elderly man says, as Logan reaches out to hug him. Pushing Logan's hand aside, he pulls me into a warm embrace.

I remember gramps hugging me like this. He bent his head kissing me on top of my head, "come Mel can't wait to meet you" he says ushering me ahead of him, as I turn to look at Logan. "Oh don't bother about him, he knows the way" the elderly man retorted, chuckling.

I saw a look pass between Logan and the chauffeur, as they both shake their head smiling, following us inside the castle.

"She thinks Logan brought her here to lock her in a dungeon" the elderly chauffeur told the man leading me into the open doors down a long wide corridor inside.

The two elderly men erupted in laughter as Logan shakes his head in annoyance, "I knew bringing her here was a bad idea" he mutters as we walked into an open room, that by count had two set of couch sets with the same design set up cozily. A feeling of home.

Logan walked up to an elderly woman, I didn't notice before, who was seated in a wheelchair. She seemed slim and tall in stature, with a full head of greys and the same color of Logan's deep blue eyes.

Logan leans over hugging her, before kissing both her cheeks. "Grandmama" he greeted the woman whose eyes were on me instead of Logan's, throwing daggers at me.

I looked around to see the chauffeur, narrow his eyes, shaking his head, obviously noticing the elderly lady's hostile look at me.

The other elderly man who I'm guessing could be Logan's grandfather, simply looks on happily.

"Come" he urges me forward, unaware that I'm not just nervous but afraid.

Taking his hand, he lifts one of mines, "Mel, meet your new granddaughter in law" he introduce me putting my hand in hers. "Jamie" he says

Not knowing what to do, "Hi, it's nice to meet you" I greeted her nervously.

She held one hand, reaching the other hand to pull me closer, "I'm not going to bite"she says dryly as Logan's grandfather laughs but Logan and the chauffeur didn't join in.

I leaned down to hug her, "you should have said no" she whispers in my ear, a dangerously low sound.

I chuckle nervously, lifting my head to stare into her smiling face, but the smile that the others around saw, didn't reach her eyes.

Indicating the couch closest to her, "come sit" she invites me to sit down in the one seater couch.

Somehow I felt her wheelchair was placed in that position to keep Logan far from me.

Sensing my hesitation, Logan came over, a arm behind my back, guiding me towards the couch as he sits on the arm of the chair next to me.
