CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY NINE

"Mom, what happen to upset Logan?" I asked again staring pleadingly at dad and mom.

Mom nods to dad, who leaves the kitchen after kissing me on the head and mom on her cheek.

"I'll give Justin, call." Dad says walking out, leaving mom with me as a nervous fear starts creeping up once again, causing my chest to close up.

Clutching my chest, I bent over and started gasping for breath.

Mom starts to panic and shouts the house down, "Jamie, Jamie!" She grabs my shoulders and try to lift me but I couldn't raise my head.

Frantic now, she turns to the doorway, "Jerome, Jerome!" She shouts, "It's Jamie, come quickly" mom continues to shout and starts rubbing my back.

The sound of footsteps pounding on the stairs sound far, far away.

Suddenly I am being pulled into a strong pair of arms with a hand on my back.

"Breath, Leah, Breathe!" Jerome whispers in my ear and slowly starts counting to help me relax and get my breathing under control.

Hearing the sound of Jer's voice whispering in my ear, was the last thing I remember, before losing consciousness.

My mind woke up to the sound of a multitude of voices around and my heart leaped hearing Logan's voice, among them.

My eyes fluttered open immediately, "Logan?" I whispered and the room got silent.

I felt myself being lifted and pulled into a tight embrace.

"F**k Jamie" Logan whispers, "F**k!" He pushes me slightly away from him and palms my face, "never put me through this again, never!" Logan says with a deep urgency in his voice.

Leaning down, he presses his lips to mines and I automatically opened my mouth to welcome his intrusion.

I pulled away to take a deep breath, chuckling at Logan's disappointed pout.

"Jamie sweetheart" mom rushes forward, hugging me while I was conscious of Logan silently moving away.

I look over mom's shoulders, the joy I felt at seeing him slowing disappearing as I realized mom and Logan were still not speaking to each other.

"Please!" I yelp, stretching an arm out to him and Logan turns and with a small smile, he reaches out and captures my hand, which I used pulling him closer to me and his mother.

With a smirk, he confirms that he knows what I'm up to, but all I want is our family together.

Reaching a hand across me, Logan embraces his mother and I, burying his head in my neck, tightening his hold on mom and I.

Turning my head, I kissed Logan on his ear and mom on her head, happy that Logan and his mom were hugging, even if they were not speaking to each other.

A doctor came in and broke up our embrace.

"Mrs. Daniels, how wonderful to see the colour of your eyes," the cheerful strange doctor, flirts with me, giving me a wink, but I smile frowning in confusion because he's not my doctor .

Lifting my eyes to question Logan, realizing he's glaring at the doctor with a scowl on his face.

Ignoring Logan's scowl, the doctor pulls the stethoscope from around his neck, "lay back" he instructed me and as I obeyed him, from the corner of my eyes I saw Logan approach my bed, his eyes still on the doctor.

The doctor did a quick examination, listening to my heartbeat and my breathing, then took out his light to check my eyes.

I laid still as he checked my eyes, looking at Logan when the doctor started chuckling, "did you know your eyes are two shades of gray?" he asks hanging the stethoscope, back around his neck and replacing the mini torchlight into his coat pocket.

"Yes, we're aware of it" Logan hissed, while I was shaking my head.

Mom who stood closer to Logan came closer, placing a hand on his arm.

"You done?" Logan asked the doctor rudely and I couldn't help my surprise gasp.

"LOGAN!" Mom and I exclaimed simultaneously.

I glared at Logan for his rudeness, but he only responded with his famous smirk, the one that I love and the one that melts my heart.

Smiling lovingly up at him, shaking my head in defeat.

"How is your breathing now?" The doctor asked breaking the invisible thread, binding Logan and I.

Taking a deep breath, I smiled up at him, wondering how bad was it for me to be brought into the hospital

"Mom?" I frowned at her, "what happened?" I shook my head in disbelief, "why am I here?" I asked, moving my hand to my baby bump, worried about my baby now.

Looking down where my hands were resting, "is my baby okay?" I asked the doctor who still hovered near the bed.

"Ye..." the doctor started to say when my husband cut him off.

"Our baby is just fine" Logan assured me, placing a protective hand over mines, on my bump.

Nodding at Logan, I raised my eyes to the doctor needing further assurance from the medical field.

"Where's my doctor, my regular doctor, doctor Moore?" I asked the doctor instead, because he's always here, whenever I come in.

With a reassuring smile, "Doctor Moore can see you tomorrow if you wish. I could have a nurse arrange for you to stay overnight." The new doctor says.

My husband once again intervenes, "just a moment" he says lifting his index finger to silence any further talks.

Taking his mobile out of his pocket, Logan walks away.

I gave the doctor an apologetic smile, my eyes now on my husband's retreating back.

Mom held my hand as we await Logan in an uncomfortable silence.

Logan returned with a triumphant gleam in his eyes and a mischievous smirk, "So the good doctor Moore will pay you a visit tomorrow at three in the afternoon." Logan says and I couldn't help the relief I felt, because staying overnight at the hospital isn't something I envisioned for peace of mind.
