Chapter 4

My soul was a void at the verge of a halo

Calling to be born at the season's shallow

Depths of burning glaciers, then it came

What was that steaming frost

Hibernating within that flame ?

His armour glistened fiercely, this dual sense of existence had yet to be born, this was the pinnacle of his age, when he was both fury and flames, the freezing sensations burning through his veins, these cosmic waves crashing against their conflicting tides, such harmony. Yet far ahead lay that convoy of doom, what could he say other than the moment was the perfect for any cosmic being to bloom.

His battleship burnt its way through these astral waves as those colossal forks of lightning rained down upon this cosmic plain. Ter Velor could feel the sensations pulsating his veins, he could feel them throbbing within his soul - the heat of battle.

Another savage flash of enflamed lightning fell a few metres before him, striking an already turbulent sea about to plunge deeper into the depths of chaos. Sage like he stood, the burning flashes igniting the spark in his eyes hidden behind his helmet, quaking within and burning without, what was more pleasant than such a blissful moment of scalding sensations.

And when you hear it calling

The dreaming waves of an after dream

Are flickering beneath -

Beneath the palms of bladed radiance.

Their roars made this astral plain quake like a crashing mountain, but his battleship was firmly rooted in its course. Who were they to think their their puny might could do anything to him - standing in his way ? What a pathetic way to beg for their death.

"You aren't the first," Ter Velor grinned, "and more will dare."

They sang the martial lullabies

Of a dying realm at the strings -

Plucking the strings of a blazing loom

Marmoreal threads twining my gene

Was it war calling or swords soaring ?

Their afterlives riddling the ethereal expanse

Be the helm of a collapsing world

The inference dead, and my...

My soul its cremating bed.

They tore out from their cages, astral beasts enraged to the core, hungering to devour, their charging flanks heralding the coming of that storm of fire and lightning coming from the enemy's cannons. What a way to battle, what a way to war.

Ter Velor's blade glistened as it was drawn from its sheath, his being blazing and eyes razing down the astral waves ahead into collapsing pillars of dust, like an enraged flash of lightning, he shattered his way through the blazing distance and a raging time - this was the start, to showcase the might of his art.

The day is born at the peak of night

One step to earth, the raging mace

Of an atemporal soul

The charging echoes trailing the mesh

Of willed eternity

The birth of his majesty.

Their screeches rose like maddened storm as that enraged blade of colossal flames tore through their being, who was he? the beginning of destruction, the womb of chaos.

Ter Velor's being blazed as he slashed his way through their ranks his blade forging a path of severed and dead beasts, like a dune of fire he set this astral plain ablaze. Fraying through the distance his sword struck like lightning, bringing down thousands more, he couldn't help exploding in an aureole of flames. That sea of condensed lightning erupted from the depths of this astral sea, sweeping across this battlefield, it consumed the entire ranks of cosmic beasts leaving them fading like a dune of ash.

Lifting his head to that thundering call, as the enemy's rayguns and cannons unleashed those raging beams and halos at him. Ter Velor could feel his core quaking within, raging like a wild sea of destruction. Those burning cracks of flames ran down the sides of his eyes, breaking their way down his jaws, they ignited the turbulence within him.

The enemy's storm of halos fell upon him like a tsunami of fire, their burning fangs digging like ferocious beasts into Ter Velor's being, wanting to devour their victim and shred him into nothingness, they rose to the astral skies, exploding in a mountain of raging flames. But from within that raging expanse of fire, the blazing outline of that charging being could be seen, then like a wind of chaos, he struck.

This void emanates the slithering beating

Of a colossal speck of quaking radiance.

Fissure my eternal call, the depths are your summits

And we the lurking voyagers of a darkened bloom

Thrust out rusted lance of traversed worlds

Lie at the lingering froths of the rising tides of stars -

Tide of stars, it stares

Sea infinite, our souls

Have always seen it's tears

Ter Velor charged at that army of battleships and battlecarpets, slithering his way through that rain of beams and halos fired at him, unleashing that energetic surge from his being, he shot an orb of flames at the deck of a battlecarpet. Landing in the midst of flames and surrounded by soldiers, Ter Velor charged, slashing his way through their flanks, he sent scores dropping dead, smashing through armour and steel he set the entire battlecarpet ablaze. Propelling himself into the air, his blade slashed down a beast charging at him. Bolting forward, he landed on the deck of another battleship.

His blade blazed as he countered the blows from the enemy's soldiers, taking them down with a single move, his eyes raved of burning surge, unleashing an enflamed beam of lightning at the ranks of attacking soldiers. Charging forward Ter Velor's being unleashed a storm that swept across this battleship, burning down everything that stood in its way. Standing at the edge of this battleship, he stared at the attack ranks of the enemy's fleet stretching far into the distance, they were in number but he was more in lightning and thunder.

Charging like an enraged whirlwind, those typhoons of enflamed lightning trailing him from behind, Ter Velor struck, this time like a colossal storm of destruction. Bursting through theirs fusillade of halos and beams, his flaring sword slashed through the armour of their ships leaving them in an exploding mass of flames. Roaring to the skies, that rain of lightning fell upon them shattering them into drifting pieces, it spared none, but one still. Staring at the flagship of this army, Ter Velor's lips twitched into a smile, there he stood, the one person who thought himself powerful enough to stand in his way.

At the helm of luminous realms

The hilt of a levitating peak

Stands before the quaking maces path

Through true trickling of trailing transcendence

His world a mirage at the flaming amber's scarlet skies

The radiance my breath of clashing blades.

That being decked in bronze armour and draped in a purple cape embroidered with emblem of a trident charge like a flash of lightning at Ter Velor. His grin widened, this was what he had been waiting for, he - Ter Velor - the guest, had arrived. Bolting through the distance, Ter Velor's being and sword ignited their cores, birthing themselves into an even higher state of astral strength.

Their blades locked as they rammed into themselves like enraged bulls, the force of their collision resulting in those vivid concentric waves that swept across this astral plain, throwing them away from each other.

"Ter Velor," his foe said, "the gates the Vendavian summits isn't open to you."

"That's because you're standing in my way," Ter Velor replied, "and all I need to do is take you down."

"Then you're welcome to try." His foe said charging at him.

They rammed into each other and once again their fierce battle began. Their swords locked but Ter Velor's was faster, slashing like streaks of lightning, his blows broke his opponent's sword into half, swirling around he shot an aureole at his foe, resulting in that mighty cloud of flames.

Standing at the edge of his battleship, Ter Velor's grin was boldly sculpted on his lips as his foe stared defiantly at him.

"Even if you can defeat me," the warrior said, "but you don't have the keys to go through the gate."

"I don't need a key to get past the gate." Ter Velor answered.

"Why is that so braggart ?" The warrior flared.

"That's because," Ter Velor replied, "I created the gate."

My wings are the skies, why else do you think I can fly

The valley is my skin and the air my sight

My very vision the depths of the seas

The blazing heat my breaths

A thousandfold of lightning

And a pyramid of earths.

The clouds thundered as his battleship neared the burning end of this portal, taking off his helmet he revealed that burning scar running down his right eye, with both glistening red, he was just a sapling, hadn't even attained the peak of his powers, what if he did ... the Ejan ... the Vacan, regardless, this was his journey, his legend.

Those howls coming from the solitary tidal tops

Of mountainous oceans at the verge of ascending waterfalls

Burning tears filling valleys of smiles to the brim

Bubbling blisters of aqueous glimmers
