When I woke up max was still asleep so I decided to check on my stats. As I looked at my new stats and skills and decided that I couldn't keep my cover for much longer.

Skills:

Loved by mana| absorb the mana in the atmosphere and convert it into an increase in all stats. First release is an Amp Of 5x base, second release is an Amp Of 10x the first release, the third release is an Amp Of 2x the second release. Caution: Taking off eyepatch will cause a continuous grow in power until spontaneous combustion.

Blade style: Fire Release| use mana to bend elements into your blade. Only taught at Magic Knights academies.

I instantly thought of challenging Tanzen with my newfound strength but thought against it because it might get exposed that I'm the hero. Plus the third release left my body aching so badly that I can't even use skills right now without being in pain. I bet I could beat him without skills I thought to myself.

"Max wake up, time for class," I yelled over to his sleeping form.

"Un huh," he murmured unmoving. I threw my pillow at him and he turned over.

"So I hear the kingdom won another battle," said Danbert as he munched on his breakfast.

"Yea supposedly a mysterious knight came and bought them enough time to save the Outer wall from being breached," said Max as he looked up from the letters his uncle sent.

"So what class do we have today?," I asked.

"Today We're Off in honor of those they lost during the battle," said Danbert.

"Oi hey Xander," said a voice from behind our lunch table. I looked over to see Tanzen.

"Yea what's up," I muttered through gritted teeth.

"What do you say we spar, I can sense your change in power. You've finally made it to level 1 haven't you," he exclaimed.

"Is this true Xander," said max.

"No way, you were already matching up with Level 3s. At Level 0. There's no telling how strong you are now at Level 1," said Danbert.

"So you can sense it huh," I said worriedly.

"Of course, your not keeping your battle power contained, anyone above Level 3 can sense power," said Tanzen.

"So there's no use in hiding it," I asked.

"There is one, a skill," he replied.

"Can you teach it to me," I murmured.

"Of course, you might need it because your advancing to quickly, if anyone finds out you made level 1 in less than a year then they might pin you as the hero and it would hurt the country," he said looking around.

"What do you mean," asked max.

"He's not strong enough to take on the Dark army or the Demon King yet," said Danbert.

"I will teach you what I know," said Tanzen,"

"I have the training grounds registered today, we can go there!," said danbert.

"No you guys go ahead, we'll go to the woods surrounding the academy so we can really let loose," said Tanzen.

When we got deep into the woods we began

"The skill is called "Underestimate, but it only works for those under level 7 in power," Tanzen warned.

"Okay," I said.

"You had the mana of a Level 3 as a Level 0, now I'm sensing the mana of a level 5," spoke Tanzen

"You've got insane base potential," He continued.

"Try suppressing your battle power back down to that of a level 3 by imagining your mana not leaking out of you," instructed Tanzen.

"Underestimate," I whispered and imagined my mana not leaking.

"Good, now just think of releasing your mana to undo it. You can't fight effectively with it on. Now lets spar," said Tanzen.

*Slash*

*Clang*

*Slash*

"Hypersonic," said Tanzen.

"Blade style: Blazing inferno," I said forcing my blade to burn hottter with blue flame instead of orange.

I slashed horizontally and cut the trees off at the stump in a 10 foot radius of where he was zipping around.

"Show me that skill," said Tanzen using a tree stump as a jump off to aim a water slice from his blade at me.

*Clang*

I blocked it and did as he requested

"1st release," I said as a faint rainbow outline appeared around me.

*Clang*

We pushed against each other in a struggle for ground as we clashed swords...

*slash*

*clang*

*slash*

"Haaaagh," he went breaking the tie and freezing the woods around us in a 15 foot radius.

"Blade style: Ice release," said Tanzen as his blade became encircled with ice and water particles. His armor had ice stuck to it.

*Slash*

I flew back into a couple tress breaking them off from impact. With one stroke of his sword he had broken my guard and sent me flying...

"I'm not done yet, 2nd release," I said amping myself to match his intensity.

*slash*

*clang*

*slash*

"Your strong, but it's not over. Lions Pride!," he replied after a few clashes that took his breath away.

He began to glow with a golden outline after that last line and began pushing me back.

"2nd release," I said as my rainbow outline grew stronger. I appeared behind him and condensed my element.

"How about this," I said flicking my blade to the back of his armor and sending him into a boulder in the forest.

"Blegh," said Tanzen coughing up blood.

"Not bad, but how about this," he said as he disappeared.

"Haaa," He reappeared in front of me and came down in an arc of ice and water...

*clang*

*btoom*

I flew through trees about a few feet away and....

"You good Xander," said a voice. All I saw was blackness
