Her jaw dropped as she looked at Bok Su, she struggled to process it all but this meant one thing, she was done for.
"What?!!!" thief?? What do you mean by the if, what have I stolen?" she asked one question after the other trying to catch her breath, a terrific headache struck her as she tried to analyse everything going on.
" I'm sorry Eun Ha I think you've been framed and I doubt you'd be let off the hook so easily."
Bok Su said with a sad voice, she was such a sweet girl she definitely didn't deserve what was coming for her.
"I did nothing wrong, I am not a thief" she said with a shaky voice as stream of tears flowed effortlessly down her cheeks.
"I know but how will you convince the manager that you didn't do it when the art piece was found in your locker?"
He was right, it wasn't Bok Su that bedded to believe her, it was the manager.
Manager Sung was fuming in anger pacing back and forth, he wasn't open to any reasoning at this point as it had almost cost him his Job, there was no saving this time around for the culprit.
He was probably the last person to know the identity of the person who stole the art piece.
The head of security brought in the item.
"Whose locker was it found?" he asked angrily raising his voice a little higher
"It was Lee Eun Ha" he responded calmly
"Lee Eun Ha?!" he exclaimed, one thing was certain Lee Eun Ha was no thief, she was one of the most hardworking employee he had, he remembered when she came with her application about a year ago, young, vibrant and full of life he saw her as a daughter but how is it possible that she stole this? He thought to himself, all his anger was immediately converted to pity, if it were within his power he might have been able to help her.
"Tell her to meet me in my office" he said in a cold tone he knew someone was behind it. "Eun Ha would never steal anything, she was too hardworking for that, or perhaps did she need money desperately?" were the thoughts ravaging his head.
He paced back and forth in the office he had to make a decision, to either let her go or let her stay.
The head of security got to the staff station in less than 2 minutes
Eun Ha was trying to wipe off her tears, she quickly braced up her mind for what would happen next.
"You've been through worse" she whispered to her self, that has been like a mantra for her
In the past few years.
She made her way to the manager's office as she thought of different ways she could convince the manager of her innocence cause she was truly innocent, the snide remarks from her colleagues and the silent whispers was slowly getting to her head, they had already condemned her in their heart, no one believed in her, perhaps it was because they were all at the verge of losing their jobs, they were just glad that a scapegoat was found.
She slowly approached the managers office, her heart thumped a little, she was unsure of what to say all she could think of was how he saw her now.
She knocked slightly and opened the door.
The manager was already seated and was observing her closely and she quickly greeted "Good afternoon sir"
Have a seat Eun Ha
"Sir... I..."
"I know," he said without allowing her to complete her unprepared speech.
"I didn't do it" she managed to spurt out as tears welled up in her eyes.
I know Eun Ha but there is nothing I can do, the higher ups are involved and they are aware of it all, I'm sorry we'll have to let you go.
"Sir please she begged on her knees, I didn't do it, I really need this Job sir" she said with so much desperation in her voice it was like her life was hanging on the line
"sorry Eun Ha the best I can do is give you your salary for this month, clear your locker and leave the building immediately" he said without a hint of expression on his face, this was difficult bus he had to do this,
He stretched out his hand giving her his card, "call me, I might be able to help you find another Job." at least so he thought.
Reality finally dawned on her, it was really over, this was the scene where she laughs sarcastically but she didn't even have the strength to smile, her whole world was coming down and she had no where to run, nowhere to hide.
She stretched out her hands and collected the card
"Thank you sir" she managed to say
"Eun Ha, I'm sorry"
