Suddenly, Solna cracked a smile. “Lanaut?”
Vius barked a laugh, surprised but amused. Lanaut, in the couple of days he had known her, seemed like just the type to attract a dwarven soul mate. Ida’s sharp nod confirmed it.
“Go with all speed.” And Vius flapped a hand at her to get her moving. She offered a last bow, deeper than the first. Then she pivoted on her heel and disappeared back down the main boulevard.
“I will miss her,” Solna said softly, for Vius’ ears only, he assumed. “She taught me what honor and strength meant.”
“And you will see her again, I have no doubt.” Vius tangled his fingers with Solna’s and drew him away from the courtyard, deeper into the man’s new home.
