Pretty Girl, Pretty Life.

September 2nd, 2019. Manhattan, New York.

7:00 A.M (EST)

"Good morning honey, I see you're up bright and early as always!"

She quickly treads down the stairs, puppies yelping behind her. Her ginger hair swaying side to side with her motions, bangs fixed with her small fingers. Bright green eyes sparkling, complimenting the flush of pink on her cheeks.

"Mhm! All ready for school dad!" The ginger chirps, pulling her back strapped over her chest.

In the room together was a father and daughter: Zander and Savannah Anderson.

Zander was a single father, but a very successful one. Owner and creator of a multi-million stock business, he rose through the ranks of one of the richest men in all of New York City. Stretching out other branches of his business to go globally, all the while keeping up with his lavish lifestyle.

He stood at a height of six foot two inches, looking only in his thirties when he was fifty six years old. The man had a styled beard of dark brown hair, connecting to the strands swooped over his forehead. Eyes like swirls of caramel peek through long eyelashes. Zander was an attractive man to all women over or under his age, being rich and a single father made him all the more appealing.

His other half was his only daughter. Standing at five foot and one inch, Savannah was a bundle of sunshine. Pale skin that mixed with the colors of white clouds and dandelions, hair so orange it could have her mistaken for the sun. Freckles were spread across her nose, cheeks, and shoulders. On top of her bright green eyes swept eyelashes of a light orange, almost blonde. The young woman was a pretty little peach, at the ripe age of nineteen.

The daughter of a multi-million dollar company was using her looks to a striking advantage. While in school she was a model, plastering herself on hundreds of billboards throughout the city of New York City. She was recognized not only for being an Anderson, but for being the purest girl on the big screens. It was her image, something she held onto every day of her life.

Her puppies swarm around her feet: Clover and Harper. Two golden lab puppies she had only gotten a month or so ago. Full of energy just like her, being a dog mother was a nice way to pass her time. Without her puppies, she wouldn't have anyone to cuddle with when she slept! Besides the hundreds of stuffed animals on her bed, of course.

Savannah wore a custom designed white skirt that went mid thigh on her legs. As a top she wore a button up shirt, covered with a blue and red jacket. Strips going down the arms, buttons on each side of the sleeves to go on her wrists. Her shoes were plain white sneakers, with Nike socks going up her ankles. In her ears were hanging crystal earrings, her hair mostly covering them. Her face was covered with light makeup, bangs over her forehead. With the finishing touch being a headband, a white one on the top of her head.

The young woman always dressed her best, even if it was for a casual event. If you knew Savannah Anderson, she went all out with fashion.

Zander hums, looking towards his daughter. Coffee in his hand as he stood at their kitchen counter, other hand on one of the chairs. "Make sure to stay safe okay? You know the rules, don't you kiddo?"

"No boys unless you approve of them, try to stay close to the body guards, and remember to check my phone in case I have a schedule change!" Savannah bows her head to her dad, before giving him a thumbs up. Her tongue stuck out, "You know me dad, you don't have to worry a hair on your head!"

He sighs, sipping his coffee. "That's my girl, but before you go we do need to talk about something." He gestures to the chain directly in front of him. "Sit down, Sunshine."

Savannah follows his request with no issues, skipping over before she sits down. Her hands pressed together under her chin, sweetly smiling up at her father. Her love for her father knew no bounds, he did so much for her. Without him she wouldn't be living the life she did. Savannah was grateful for everything her father did. She would always make sure to keep him at his happiest.

"Well, what is it dad?" Savannah gasps, pressing her hands down onto the marble countertop. "Don't tell me there's another rude article about you being spread again! I'll get them for you dad, you just tell me where they are!" The little woman puts her fists up in front of her, pouting.

Her father laughs, waving his hands. "No, no, nothing like that. I appreciate you being a trooper for me though, honey." He says sweetly. "Due to some threats against me and your safety, I've decided you won't be having the four bodyguards around you anymore."

Those words confused Savannah, dropping her hands down onto the table. "Wouldn't I need more…Body guards?" Her eyebrows raise in confusion, rubbing the back of her neck. "Also, threats? Dad, how come you didn't tell me about this till now..?"

"I have one man I know can do the job of four men. You already know him well, Savannah." Another sip of his coffee. "And it's nothing to worry your own head about. I have everything under control."

She knew the man quite well? If he was someone she knew, she hoped it was someone she enjoyed being around. Being a bundle of sunshine, Savannah always wanted to make new friends whenever she went. Some of the body guards became quite close to her. Some, but not all.

"Who is it?"

"Lucien Richardson."

He was in the 'not all' category.

Savannah groans, running her hands on her face. "Not him! Dad, anyone but him!" She pulls her hands down, whining in front of her father. He looked unamused by her actions, she pouts. "He's so…Stern! I can't handle that dad, he won't even speak more than what you order him to!"

"That's good then! He's doing his job well." Zander states, putting his empty coffee mug in the sink next to him.

She shakes her head, "No dad, that means he's no fun..! I can't even convince him to go and get boba with me! Everyone likes boba! Even you!" Savannah gestures to her father. "He must be crazy, super duper deranged to not even want to–"

Her eyes catch onto her father's stare. Arms crossed over his chest, eyebrow raised. Savannah sinks into her seat, rubbing her hands together. "I don't like him.." She mumbles under her breath.

Zander shakes his head, "You're going to have to trust me on this one honey, he's here to do his job and protect you. Not go out with you and get bubbly drinks."

Of all the people her father could have decided to singularly pair her with, it was Lucien. A man she had barely had a full conversation with, didn't even see a crack of a smile. His expression was always cold, a stare that could make a grown man cry. Savannah didn't like him at all, because of that factor. He was terrifying, and yet Savannah had tried to get him to open up countless times.

It never worked, every plan her little mind could come up with came to fail. So she stopped trying, letting him stay at a distance. Savannah and Lucien did not get along, nor seemed to ever be able to. Now having to be alone with him, every hour of the day? It felt like her father was punishing her, rather than keeping her protected.

"Please tell me he isn't coming with me to get to campus.." Her bright green eyes peer up at her father as he moves around the counter.

Zander places his hand on her shoulder, leaning closer to whisper. "He'll be here in 5 minutes."

With his words, Savannah groans, throwing her head back. Her father chuckles, finding amusement in his daughter's frustration. "I love you honey, I have to head to a meeting. Be kind to Mr. Richardson!" The older man grabs his coat and slings his bag over his shoulders.

"I love you too dad.." Savannah sighs, waving her father farewell as he makes his way to the elevator. Not too long later he gets inside, giving her one last wave before the doors shut.

The young woman groans, kicking her legs in frustration before jumping off of the seat. Being met with her puppies back barking at her feet, her smile is pulled back onto her lips. Walking around the counter top and looking outside of the large glass windows.

Living in a penthouse was the dream of any American's life. Being on the top floor was even better, Savannah had known this type of life since she was born. Spoiled with riches, the finest things that life could offer. She was grateful to have such a life many people didn't have, nowhere near a spoiled brat like so many other girls in her shoes.

Her heart was big, filled with nothing but love and happiness. Savannah always wanted to spread happiness, bring smiles to people's faces wherever she went. So many called her a beacon of hope, a ray of purity. Those closest had her dupped as 'Sunshine' or 'Sunflower'. They all were right, she was all of those things wrapped into one small little lady.
