Wish I Never

“I will not go with you, if you think that I will get in that car with you, you are clearly crazy and out of your damn mind!” I staggered back on my heels, a rough hand through my hair as I glared at him once my feet landed on the ground. “I don’t know what you want from me, one moment you hate me: another you’re acting all jealous and crazy – confusing the fuck out of me. Let me live my life please! Stay out of my business. I want to get drunk and get you out of my damn head!”

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE

My heart stopped beating when Lila gave me a look of sorrow and then shook her head. My hands flung toward my mouth as full-blown sobs clouded the room, my sobs to be precisely. I shook my head repeatedly as I clutched onto Max for my dear life. "No. Please no."

Max hugged me tightly as tears fell down his own cheeks, wetting mine. "I want to hold him please." I begged Lila as I reached for my baby. I hugged him closer to my body and planted a kiss on his still warm forehead as I sniffed. "Please wake up, you can't be dead." I sobbed uncontrollably.

"You said everything was going to be alright. It was all a lie." I cried out as I cradled my baby in my arms. "You told me not to give up, that we were never a coward and a quitter. You told me that he needs me, that his life depended on me. You didn't want me to live with the guilt of knowing that my son died because of me so why would you take him away from me?" I wept and sobbed uncontrollably as I cocooned him in my arms.

"Baby girl." My father came into the view as he stared at me with sad eyes. "I'm sorry that we couldn't help you." In that moment Max Mother appeared next to my father. "We can't do nothing more to save him." Max mother added and started to take a step toward me.

"No! Stay the hell away from me. You both promised me that my babies were going to be alright. You two lied! Send me back! I want to be with my son." I yelled at both of them as I felt on the ground sobbing loudly. They rushed toward me and tried to help me up. "Don't touch me! Send. Me. Back!"

"We're sorry. I hope you can..." Max mother started to say but I cut her off. "No! You guys are not sorry, and I would never forgive you two for lying to me! You!" I turned to my father. "Told me not to give up! That I wasn't a coward and a quitter.

"I fought for you. For my child and look what happened. I fought for nothing! My son is dead!" I wept uncontrollably as I sat up, bringing my knees toward my chest and cried in between them.

Max mother kneeled in front of me and raised my face to look at me in the eyes. "There is nothing more powerful than the love parents have for their children. We might not be able to bring him back but you two can."

"Alexandra." Max voice brought me back and I turned to look at him through my blurred vision. He too had tears in his eyes and was a complete mess, just like me. "Don't say anything. Just hug me." He cocooned me in his arms while I did the same with our baby, giving him all the love, I could.

We were so engrossed in our sorrow that we did hear the door open as Lila and her assistants got out with our babies, giving us some time alone.

Melissa POV

The moment Lila came out with the babies we knew something was wrong. "Where's the third one?" I asked as Alexandra's mother Alexis took the baby girl in her arms and Zoë took the boy. Lila shook her head, and we all knew that something was indeed wrong.

"He didn't make it." My hands flung toward my mouth as I stumbled backwards in disbelieve. Poor Alexa and Max, they must be distraught. Alexander pulled me into a hug as I cried out, feeling their pain. I couldn't imagine losing one of my babies, I'd die.

Everyone in the room shed a few tears as we waited in the hallway to see what's going to happen. We wanted to comfort them, but they needed some time alone. I sat down not being able to stand anymore. Everyone was quiet and caught in their own little world, still not believing what just happened.

"Shh...It's okay baby." I shot up and walked toward Alexis who had the baby girl in her arms. "She's beautiful, isn't she?" I nodded in agreement as I stared at the wide-eyed baby staring back at me. I felt funny just the way she was looking at me. Those adorable golden eyes were unmistakable. "She has Max eyes."

I nodded my head and caught her small hand in mine. "Hi baby. I'm your Aunt Melissa, but you can call me Auntie Lisa." She widened her eyes some more and stared at me with curiosity in her eyes as she kicked her feet.

"Do you want to hold her?" Alexandra's mother Alexis asked, and I couldn't help but nodding eagerly a yes. "What's her name?" Her mother turned to ask Lila who was standing next to the door with her assistants.

"Rebekah Mireya Arden." I gasped when Lila mentioned the name of my mother. I can't believe she named her daughter after our mother. I couldn't help but cry as I took Rebekah out of Alexis arms. "We too were surprised when we heard the name. She is indeed a lovely girl. She could have named her something else, but she opted to give her your mother's name."

I nodded totally agreeing with her. "Moon goddess made a good job with these two. I can't picture my brother with someone who isn't her. She brings out the good in him and I'm sure my mother knows that wherever she is right now." I cradled the baby in my arms slowly as I stared down at her with a smile.

The door opening made us all looked toward it nervously, not knowing what to expect. Max got out of the room, closing the door slowly behind him, and when he looked up, his eyes met ours. In that moment, we couldn't help but break at the side of him. I never saw my brother like that. Not even when my parents died.

"He's dead." We all gasped when we heard it coming out of Max's mouth, we already knew but just the confirmation of him broke us again. There was still a possibility that he could be alive but now we had none, he was dead.

My brother broke down sobbing in front of us, not caring that we were seeing his vulnerable side. Justin and Chris stood by his side and pulled him into a hug, letting him cry all he wanted. He pulled away from them and started to trash down the hallway, throwing everything in his sight.

I pulled Rebekah closer to me as I stepped away like the others, giving Max time to calm himself down. "Why!" He ripped the painting from the wall and tossed it away. "Why us!" He grabbed a vase on the table and tossed it across the room right into the wall, making it crash down with a loud sound.

"Max..." Chris started to say but Alexandra's mother Alexis stopped him. "Let him. It's his form of getting rid of some of the pain." Max growled out furiously, crashing everything and anything in front of him.

Rebekah started to trash in my arms before she let out a full-blown sob, her high pitch voice scaring everyone. Max stopped trashing and turned around slowly to stare at Rebekah who was in my arms sobbing like there was no tomorrow.

Max face softened at the sight of his daughter and made his way toward me, taking her in his arms. She trashed a bit but when her eyes met her father's she froze, her golden eyes widened in curiosity as she moved her hands wildly, whining quietly. "Shh...It's okay baby girl. I'm here."

Alexandra's POV

I curled up some more besides my son, not wanting to let him go. I didn't want to see anyone. Not even Max. I can't bear this pain. It's too much. "I don't know what else to do. Please bring him back." I cried out as I snuggled more against him.

I sniffed rapidly and sat up abruptly when I heard a voice saying. "Dear. Don't you have fate?" I know this woman. She was the woman who knew I was pregnant and who told me that everything was going to be alright, and that Max was a strong man. Then she just disappeared, and I haven't heard from her nor did I saw her around.

"You haven't seen me around because I'm dead dear." Her eyes twinkled in amusement as she stared down at me with her wrinkled face. My jaw slacked when she said that she was dead. "Sorry for not telling you from the beginning." She sent me an apologetic smile and sat next to my dead son, running her fingertips across his forehead.

"But why can I see you?" I said watching her every move in curiosity. "Why are you here after so long?" She sighed loudly and took her hand away. "I'm here to save my great-grandson. Ugh it sounds awful." She waved it off and looked down at my son "Anyways. It's a long story."

"I have plenty of time." I replied back. "But first bring my son back." She looked at me and then shook her head. "I can't because." I was about to reply back when she continued. "He's alive already." I turned my gaze to my son who was still the same.

"Are you joking?" I asked irritated with her and then realization drowned on me. "Wait what? Did you just say great-grandson?" She nodded her head eagerly with a big smile. "You're?"

"Max grandmother." What's with me and seeing dead people? "You're probably wondering why you can see dead people?" I nodded my head weird out. "Max hasn't told you this, but our family has a special ability or abilities to be precisely."

"But I'm not your family." She scowled at me for interrupting her and I raised my hand in surrender mode. "Fine. Sorry for interrupting."

"When you got pregnant, the abilities were passed to you due to the babies you were carrying." She explained me further. "That's why I could make them move and Max could make them calm down. It's just a family thing." She touched his face again and he twitched a bit. "He's going to be okay."

"But you didn't explain to me why I can see dead people." She ran her fingers through Maxim's hair and turned to face me. "It's just one of our abilities to see dead people. But we don't see every dead people. Just the ones we want to see and the ones who wants to be seen." I nodded my head slowly trying to process everything. "I want to show you something."

I looked around me confused. We weren't in Max room anymore and my son wasn't here. "Where is my son and where are we?" Max grandmother touched my shoulder and mentioned me to follow her.

"He's fine come on. We don't have much time." We walked further into the woods and stopped when we heard sounds. "Who's there?" A girl from the age of fifteen asked as she backed away slowly, looking around scared. "I said who's there!" Eyes were the first thing we saw before vicious wolves emerged from the bushes, growling at the girl.

"Stay away!" The girl barked at them, but you could see in her golden eyes that she was scared. Wait, what, golden eyes? Rebekah.

More wolves appeared, growling murderously at her. "Stop!" I shouted and got out from our hiding place, standing in front of my daughter protectively. They growled and continued to walk toward my daughter. "Stop or I'll kill you."

"Alexandra. You can't save her." Max grandmother said and I realized that they couldn't see me. "Wait and see for yourself." I stepped away and walked toward her. "Look what we have here." The first wolf who shifted said as the other ones did the same, staring cold hearted at my daughter. "The alpha's daughter." The first wolf growled out and the other ones grabbed my daughter by her arms.

"Let go!" She trashed around trying to get rid of their hold but they only tightened it. "My father is going to kill all of you!"

"Not before we kill him first." The first one laughed viciously and ordered the two to take my daughter away. She screamed, shouted and trashed as they took her way.

"Follow them! We have to!" I shouted at her as I started to walk behind them.

Max grandmother snatched my wrist and stopped me from moving forward. "You don't want to see this dear."

"I want to." She sighed and fast-forwarded the time. We were inside an old warehouse with different cells with werewolves in it. All beaten up and bruised. I heard a pitch scream of my daughter, and I followed her voice.

"Alexandra....don't." I walked through the door and gasped, my eyes filling with tears. They had her in the middle of a dungeon naked and chained on the ceiling, her toes brushing slightly on the floor.

Her body was full of whip marks with blood pouring out of them as she whined quietly but didn't move an inch. "What is going on?" I shook my head as I cried out, seeing my daughter like this made my heart ache.

"Mommy." She whimpered quietly under her breath. "Daddy." Her head hung low, and her hair was covering her face and half of her body as it reaches down her bellybutton. "Come save me." Her sleepy voice muttered broken, and I couldn't see this anymore.

"Take me back."

I jolted awake and turned to the side to a wide-eyed Maxim and picked him up to hug him. "How can we stop it from happening?" I asked Max grandmother as I cooed at Maxim. She shook her head and looked at me sadly. "We can't change the future. It's written on the stars dear." She sighed and patted my free shoulder. "There will be problems and obstacles for Rebekah in the future but all that will only make her stronger. People will try to harm her, and she'll need all the protection she can get."

"What about her mate?"

"I don't know everything dear." She smiled warmly at me. "But the thing I know is that her Mate is going to love her and protect her with his life." I smiled at her and leaned Maxim in my arms. "He looks just like Maximilian." I nodded my head at her as I stared down at Maxim. "I better get going. The others are probably worried and I'm sure that you want to see your babies."

"Thank you." I thanked her as I stood from the bed. "I don't know how to thank you enough." I pulled her into a side hug carefully not to hurt Maxim. "Thanks." She blinked her eyes perplexed. "You hugged me." I nodded my head weird out. "They're stronger than I thought." She whispered before vanished into thin air.

I shook my head at her craziness and walked toward the door, opening it. Everyone turned to look at me with sorrow in their eyes and I smiled watery at them. "He's alive." They all gasped in shock and cried out in happiness. Well, the woman did but I swear I saw the guys shed a few tears.

Max gave my mother Rebekah and walked toward me, pulling me into a hug, making sure not to squeeze the baby and kissed me on the lips. "We need to talk." I said after he pulled away. "But first, I want to see my babies.

Zoë and my mother walked to the front and stood in front of me. I gave Max Maxim and turned to look at my babies. "Hi, I'm your mommy." I gave each of them a finger as I moved their little hands up and down.

They stared at me with wide eyes, their feet kicking in the air as they sucked on their tiny fist. "Aww." I pouted at these cuties with glossy eyes. I still can't believe that I'm a mother. This feeling is explainable.

"Do you want to see the nursery room?" I beamed and clapped my hands excitedly. "Guess that's a yes." I nodded my head eagerly and took Rebekah out of my mother's arms. "You have to close your eyes though." I was about to protest when Rebekah was taken away from me and someone covered my eyes with their hands.

"Walk slower, I don't want to trip on my face." I chuckled slightly at an eager Max and moved my hands to the front. "Are we almost there?" I groaned not liking this thing. "Almost and....we're here!" I heard the sound of a door opening as Max led us inside. "On the count of three 1 2 3!" He removed his hands and I gasped at the room. There is no way in hell that Max made this by himself.

"This is beautiful." The cribs were made of fresh cut woods and instead of musical crib mobiles there were cut out figures of baby werewolves made of wood. The room was painted a baby green color and on the wall were different kinds of animals but mostly werewolves.

One thing that caught my attention was the paint of two wolves laying on what seems like grass and three little wolves curled up against them. It was so beautiful made that I couldn't help but reach out to touch it. "You paint this."

I stated more than asked in disbelieve, trying to process it. Max still looking at the paint on the wall. "Yes why? Do you doubt in my skills?" Max gasped offensively and I rolled my eyes at him. Such a drama queen.

"I do not doubt in your painting skills Maxie." I snorted as I turned around, moving away from the paint to walk toward Max and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Thank you for doing this." He sneaked his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.

"It's nothing." He leaned down to peck my lips, following by chorus of awe's. We pulled away with a blush and turned to look at them. "I want to thank you all for being here with us today."

"Yes, me too. You guys are like a family to us." Max pulled me into a side hug and kissed my forehead. "Group hug!" I squealed loudly as I ushered them to come closer.
