Chapter 16

“They-they were looking for me?”

“Yes. But after several months, we closed the case because the trails got colder and we didn’t know where else to look.”

Luke swallowed. He didn’t know people were looking for him. He thought he was a lost cause. He never tried to run away, of course, besides the fact that he was always locked in a room. He stayed still when Jake wrapped an arm around him.

“That’s it? You were just going to say that Luke was a hooker? That was nothing new to me,” Jake said. “Right, Luke?” He kissed the side of Luke’s face and Luke leaned in. “I’m glad to find out that your friends were trying to find you although they didn’t succeed. It doesn’t matter ‘cause you’re with me now.”

Luke turned around and clasped Jake’s face. “Yes, and it’s thanks to you.” He kissed Jake’s lips. They were soft and damp, the best Luke had ever tasted in years. Then he turned to Aaron shyly.
