In the end, Devon just sobbed her heart out until her eyes swelled and she fell asleep.
"She cried to the point I'm a little embarrassed." Lewis chuckled helplessly, lying to his side as she ended up using his arm as a cushion.
No one had cried for him like that. So it felt strangely nice, considering he told her about something that triggered him.
"Thank you, Miss…" He trailed off as he let out a bitter sigh.
Now that he thought about it, Lewis and Devon didn't even reach the first name basis. Even now, she called him 'my friend', while he still called her 'Miss Lin' and it just sounded wrong and distant.
Lewis chuckled in a low tone, wiping the drop of tear that was on the corner of her eyes. "I think I figure out my crisis," he paused as he had been thinking about it.
"It is, I don't think I can ever marry someone else, or I'm still at the point of I can turn back and return." That's right, and he only realized that now.
