"I'm home~!" Devon announced as soon as she returned to their house. Since the shooting had taken longer than expected, she returned past the time that Lewis returns.
To her surprised, she paused as her eyes moved up to see him standing, leaning on the entranceway. The corner of her lips stretched up as soon as their eyes met.
"Welcome home," he said, walking towards her with arms wide open. Devon giggled, melting into his embrace as she closed her eyes.
"I'm home, Lu." His warmth just melted her fatigue as they stayed there, hugging each other for some time.
Did he also felt like this whenever she welcomed her home? That he was truly home? Questions like that hovered over her head, but the answer didn't matter. She just hoped he felt the same warmth and tranquility whenever she welcomed him home.
"You had a long day. You must be tired." Lewis broke away from her embrace, bending over as he arranged her house slipper for her to change.
