Chapter 2: Encounter

On the streets of the City of Malaya, individual people are walking onwards to their destination, while some are walking with a pair; the others are walking in a group.

A sad, disheartened boy is presently taking a stroll to give himself relief from his fight with his father earlier.

He stops in his footsteps, he closes his hand and it shakes at a fast pace, he grits his teeth while his eyes are staring at the ground. "Bakit ba! Bakit ba natalo niya ako?! Does my preparation not exceed his abilities…?"

"Tangina! Wield your heart ka pa riyan! Wala namang kwenta ang kasabihan na 'yon, sobrang walang kwenta!" He thought to himself with great anger.

Then a person wearing a pair of black leather boots stops in front of him. Efrein glances upward only to see the wondering look of a boy.

The boy has grey hair, his eyes are like the eyes of a wolf, his lips are reddish and small; the length of his hair reaches below his ears.

"Iinom na ba natin 'yan, Efrein?" he smirked while staring into the raging eyes of Efrein.

Efrein sighs deeply, then he hisses as he stares into his wolf-like eyes. "Diyan ka magaling, Relov! Kaya madalas ka napapagalitan ni tita."

Relov crosses his arms while frowning towards Efrein. "Ano namang masama kung iinom tayo ng hard drinks? Katulad ng SC, Loyal, at T-prite?"

Efrein shakes his head, then he points at the other path, he declares openly. "Doon mas maganda pag-usapan ang mga bagay-bagay."

"Kaya gusto kita eh," Relov smirked.

The pair walked towards the direction that Efrein had pointed at.

At the Forest of Juan 

Two boys are facing each other in an unoccupied space that's surrounded by tall trees.

Five feet is the gap between them. The boy wearing durable black clothing uses the wind to coat his hands.

Multiple red-orange glowing fireflies encircle the boy with wolf-like eyes.

"If I win, you'll submit that you have flaws that you should spend more time improving."

"Fine… I'll take it!" Efrein exclaimed, then he started to sprint towards Relov.

The multiple red-orange glowing fireflies fly towards the sprinting Efrein, Efrein throws the wind that he's wielding towards the multiple red-orange glowing fireflies.

The spheres of wind were effective barely for a few fireflies, the rest speeds up its movement towards Efrein.

Efrein swirls around and the breeze of wind appears and it surrounds the whole body of Efrein. The remaining red-orange glowing fireflies go towards the unfolding tornado of Efrein.

Unfortunately, the wind tornado starts to be burned by the multiple fireflies coming towards the wind storm.

Relov smirks as he snaps his finger causing the multiple red-orange fireflies to explode; the explosion was so intense that the force of it provoked the nearest trees to fly away.

Multiple but slow cracks commence on the ground where Relov is standing, Relov shifts his eyes downward then a fist comes out from it.

The fist punches his face, causing him to step away, along with the fist; Efrein appears from the broken ground and he lands on the dirt.

"Akala mo'y magpapatalo na lang

ako?" Efrein smirked while sauntering towards the still standing Relov.

Efrein begins to run towards Relov, then multiple red-orange glowing fireflies block his path; a strong explosion occurs in front of Efrein.

Out from the smoke: Efrein comes out from it, and then he forcefully rolls on the ground, yet he immediately recovers from it, making him stand up.

"Masyado kang mayabang," Relov declares while grimacing toward Efrein, "Kaya ka natatalo—!"

Then he felt a gust of wind in front of him, furthermore, a fist hit his face causing him to step back. Efrein grabs his clothed shoulder; he pulls him closer to his body and hence he raises his knee only to hit his stomach.

Efrein kneels on the ground while gasping for air, Relov smiles, and then he loses consciousness, making him fall on the dirt.

After a few hours, the boys are taking a bath on the nearest river. They aren't splashing each other using the water instead of sitting on the river while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

"That battle was fierce," Efrein commented.

"I agree." Relov lowered his body on the river.

"Hey, Efrein. Naisip mo na bang mag-enroll sa Malaya Academy?" Relov raised a question.

Efrein hisses as he scowls towards

Relov. "Ayaw ko… Sagabal lamang ang Academy upang hindi ako maging malakas."

"Pero nakakabuti ang academy para may matutunan ka!" Relov raised his body a bit.

"Ba't ka ba nangingielam?" Efrein used his hand to slap the water towards Relov.

The water hits Relov's face, causing him to divert his face towards Efrein. "Nakakainis ka na... Kung ayaw mong mag-enroll edi no."

Efrein sighs and he was satisfied with Relov's speech, after taking a bath the pair walks back to the city.

They bid their farewell to each other, hence they walk towards their house. While Efrein was walking away; he accidentally bumps into a girl wearing a scarf on her head.

Before the girl falls to the ground; Efrein grabs her hand and quickly pulls her up.

"Ayos ka la—!" Efrein was shocked to see the face of the girl whom he bumped into.

The girl panics as she realized that her scarf was removed from her head, exposing her beautiful face; red long hair, and her third eye on her forehead.

"Teka!" Efrein spoke to the girl.

The girl dashes away with a frightened look on her face while holding her pink scarf that has patterns of roses on it.

The girl left Efrein gazing in her direction.
