Strange Weapon

Kurao quickly tossed the cutlass on the table, and hurriedly trying to catch his breath after feeling such intense heat from his body as he cries a bit in pain.

"A-hh-hhh, Holy crap that was unconformable!" Kurao shouted standing up trying to wipe the bit of sweat that formed on his body while trying to ignore the now stinging feeling he feels across his body.

Vayla looked up from her book and saw the cutlass and the condition Kurao was in as she furrowed her brows and spoke with a stern tone.

"Don't touch the weapons, your body can't handle them, if you have any questions about any of them just let me know and ill help you out. There is no need to push yourself to choose something we have plenty of time."

After saying that she lowers her head and continues reading her book.

Kurao took a moment to recover from the stinging pain after doing so he stares down the red hilted cutlass.

'Surpassing human physical limits seems a bit risky if you aren't even physical fit in the first place it seems... But with that power any mage would be able to have the best physical and magical state of being, I wonder if you can forge those runes on clothing or some sort of accessories like a ring or bracelet.'

The idea of physically enhancing his body got Kurao thinking about the capabilities it could do to elementalists, but dropped the idea when he started thinking about the pain. Even though the pain wasn't much he wouldn't like to feel that stinging sensation again. So dropping the idea of physical enhancements he starts to browse the weapons asking Vayla questions about some of the weapons from time to time.

One of the best weapons he found was a red tinted glove, the glove which was the most common weapon for Elementalists right by wands, but this glove had interesting statistics in comparison to most mage gloves seen. The glove gave the user 22% increase in fire origin affinity which was almost as much as the pendant he saw earlier, but on top of that it speeds up spell casting by 50%. Which made this glove already five times better then the best combat gloves on the market but adding on the additional elemental affinity percentage made it a item that could turn anyone a powerhouse.

'Too bad its only attuned for Fire Origin use only.' Kurao sighed but then thought about it a little more.

'Wait if this is fire attuned, Why didn't Soliel pick this item? This item is tailored for a mage like him and would easily boost his skills. Does that mean he picked out something better or was this item not in here during the time he picked something from here?'

Kurao assumed that Soliel picked out the best item in here, but that didn't discourage him.

Kurao decided he to check another area cause he already checked all the best weapons in the section, but as he was leaving a small weapon piqued his interest.

At the end of the table was a small weapon that was shaped weirdly for weapon Kurao thought. The weapon length only was the length of his forearm and at one end of the weapon it had a grip that went down from the horizontal cylindrical stick, it was mostly made of wood except the stick part which was made of a type of forging metal with a single hole down the center of the stick and a few smaller metal pieces along the weapon.

He was confused on what this contraption was since he has never seen a weapon like this in any books before. And for a moment he was thinking if the item was misplaced but considering the way the treasury was organized made him discard that.

'This weapon doesn't have any runes, mana, or even a blade so what makes this even a weapon?'

'It doesn't even seem good as a blunt weapon with had delicate it seems. Also what is this little stick pointing out from the long one?'

Kurao picked up the object forgetting about what Vayla said about not touching the weapons. He held the weapon's wooden grip and even swung the weapon a few times before laying his fingers on the small extruded metal stick part coming out of the longer one, he slowly squeezes the stick while pointing it at a weapon rack.

*BANG*

A deafening bang resounded in the small room, as Kurao throws the small weapon on the ground after being surprised by that result, not expecting it to make such a sound. He quickly looks at the weapon rack he aimed at, none of the weapons seemed to be damaged or even have a scratch on them, but the weapon rack that was made of metal had a few dents. Seeing this Kurao eyes lit up with curiosity as he walked towards where he threw the weapon. But before he could reach it, he hears some scold him.

"Didn't I tell you not to touch the weapons little Kurao?? Do you not care about what I say even though I am just looking out for your safety?!"

Vayla said as she stood up from her chair and walked over to the boy with a slight frown on her face. Kurao on the other hand ignored what she was saying still and picked up the small weapon, he then turned his head to Vayla and asked.

"Aunt Vayla do you know what this is?" Using his other hand to point at the weapon in his right hand.

"No I have not ever seen that before, but it makes an atrocious noise. But little Kurao why didn't you listen to me and keep your hands off the weapons? I told you I would help you if had any questions."

Vayla said sternly talking down to the little boy who was still fiddling with the small weapon.

"Sorry Aunt Vayla for not heeding your words I was just a little spooked. but I am not hurt you see?"

Kurao said pointing at himself with his weapon free hand, continuing to look at all the sides of the weapon. Seemingly not caring for what Vayla was making a fuss about, but then asking Vayla again.

"But you seriously don't know what this is Aunt Vayla?" Kurao waved the weapon in front of her.

"No I don't know what that is. And after seeing it. it doesn't even seem to do much. Even a bow could do better then that piece of metal."

Vayla scoffs at the boys fascination with the weapon instead of feeling remorse of not listening to her.

"Little Kurao is that what you want to choose, cause if so tell me now." Vayla said trying to not get annoyed at the boys apathetic attitude at the moment.

*CLICK*

Kurao then aims the weapon again at the weapon rack before pulling the small metal stick, only to get the sound of a click and no bang sound like unlike before.

"No, I was just curious I will continue searching." Kurao said placing the weapon back on the table.
