#Chapter24
The six men move through the bush following the tracks made by Debi and Sandra the night before, the AK47 rifles held at the ready. The spoors left by the two are easy to follow and the men are able to move at a fast pace, slowly narrowing the gap between them and the escaping two.
They move from the dense bush down towards the riverbank, and there they find where the two had stopped, and then run, with the spoor of lion covering their track. They follow the track into the tall savannah and end up at the tree the two had taken refuge in the night before. The spoor of the lion covers the area, and they can see where the large cat had returned into the bush. Debi and Sandra’s trail is picked up again from the point where they climbed down and headed towards the road and there, as clear as daylight, the group of men can see the direction they had taken along the dirt track.
