Whispered secrets: A forbidden love story

He is not like the boys I have met, his eyes, his hair, lips, a defined six pack abs and a narrow waistline. He is the type of handsome every girl dreams of. He was the last person I could have ever thought I would find at my best friend’s house. Never met anyone more charming,he moved his body gracefully as he gently arranged the washed plates in the racks. I stood there watching every movement from wiping his hand with a small towel to swinging the towel in a swirling motion. I gulped and stood still. “Nancy?” I finally heard my name being called, I turned to my friend Tara who gave me a weird look. As my eyes shifted from her to the half naked guy across the room, he was now staring back at me. We weren’t strangers but it felt like were at that moment. “That is my brother, Nolan”, Tara said. My jaw dropped and my eyes widened at what Tara had just said. “Your Brother???”, I repeated loudly.

Second embarrassment

"IT IS… MIND YOUR BUSINESS".

Tara scoffs and folds her arms, "No matter how much you hide your little girlfriend they will still come around…" She said and smirked at her brother before walking out.

"Oh, my f****ng lord! She is so annoying", Nolan nagged before dropping on his bed.

Westwood Highschool.

11:00 am

Nancy was just about to step out of the classroom when Jay joined her. They haven't spoken much since the fight between Jackson and Nolan.

He got a bit distant and none of his friends knew why including Nancy.

"Oh hey Jay, how have you been? I sent you a text on Instagram last night but you didn't see it, did you go on a short vacation?", Nancy asked as she walked next to him.

The idea of Nancy texting to check on him made him happy and even tho he had seen her texts and chose to ignore them, he still felt relief that Nancy texted him.

Jay had felt insecure the day Nolan stood up for Nancy while he stood there and did nothing, he knew if Nolan hadn't shown up in one minute he would have protected her from Jackson but the guilt that he didn't and the jealousy he felt made him went distant since that day.

"I just got busy with stuff… are you okay? Have you been alright? And how is Jada? How is she holding up with the whole Beth and Jackson drama?", Jay asked.

Nancy inhaled sharply and exhaled, she shook her head as she kept walking towards the cafeteria.

"They broke up… Jada ended it with her and me and Tara was there for her, I know she would still think about it cos heartbreak ain't a joke but I guess she is handling it better than I would", Nancy answered.

"Agreed", Jay said.

Nancy turned her head to him, she stopped and folded her arms.

"What do you mean agreed", she asked while raising her eyebrows at him.

Jay laughed and held her hands as he pulled her with him, "I was joking!!!", he said and walked into the cafeteria with Nancy.

"Yeah for real, when I get attached! Breaking up doesn't get easy for me, that is why I get so scared to fall for someone! Everyone is wilding out there! I mean look at Beth", Nancy said.

Jay stared at her for a few seconds before answering.

"I would never break your heart though".

Nancy looked up smiling at him, but the smile gradually faded away when she saw his serious expression. She had guessed Jay likes her but that just proves it.

"Stop joking", she masked her expression with a nervous chuckle.

Jay pressed his lips against each other and looked away, his eyes suddenly met Nolans' who had been staring at them from a distance for a while now, Jay noticed.

He turned his gaze at Nancy and figured she didn't see know Nolan was staring.

"Give me your hands", Jay said while smiling at Nancy.

"We should go grab some food, why do you want my hands", Nancy answered while stretching her hand towards him.

Jay took it and felt it with his other hand.

Nancy laughed while watching him, "you weirdo what are you even doing?", she said and took her hand from him.

"What! Your hands look so soft", he answered, smiling flirtatiously at her.

Nolan watched, paying all attention to them instead of his friends, he carefully watched how Jay touched Nancy and how much they were laughing. The eagerness to know what they were laughing about grew on him.

"What is so funny?", he scoffs and rolls his eyes.

Stacy was sitting at another table with her girls, ever since Nolan had embarrassed her because of the prom proposal, she had stayed to herself and didn't talk to him so he would chase after her or make him feel bad.

"I don't think it is working Stacy, he has not texted you or even looked at you once for two days now! Do you want to go meet him?", One of Stacy's friends suggested.

Stacy took a spoonful of salad and eat it while chewing it aggressively as she stared at Nolan from her table.

"Yes she is right Stacy, it doesn't seem like he is going to come to meet you, we don't want any other girl to take him from you" " another girl added.

Stacy knew her friends were right, almost every girl in Westwood wanted Nolan and she had stopped that from happening just by hanging with him every day in school, what would happen if she stopped being with him?

"You girls are right!", she said and put down her spoon.

Stacy suppressed her juice and stared at Nolan, she immediately figured he had been staring in a direction for a while now, so she followed his eyes and saw Nancy and Jay talking at their table.

"She again", Stacy whispered and returned her gaze to Nolan.

Filled with anger, Stacy stood up and walked towards Nolan, she immediately changed her expression from angry to smiling as soon as she stood in front of him, blocking his view of Nancy.

"Hey Nolan, it has been a while… you didn't even bother to text me on Instagram, did you see my recent post? I didn't tag you in it because you know of what happened the last time, I felt embarrassed", she said but Nolan's attention was still on why Nancy was smiling so much with Jay.

He tried tilting his head to see Nancy but Stacy kept getting in his way.

Nolan gave up and looked at Stacy.

"Hi Stacy…", He finally answered.

"Yes. But I am not angry anymore… my mom is out of town so you can come over, we can binge-watch the movie we could not watch the last time you came over".

Nolan's eyes caught Nancy and Jay walking out of the cafeteria, he jumped up and saw Stacy's surprised expression.

"I'm sorry Stacy, let us talk later…", he said and hurried away from her.

Stacy scoffed and watched him walk away, she turned and saw his friends looking at her.

"This is the second time he would embarrass me!", she muttered in annoyance and walked back to her seat.

"It's that girl! Nancy! Something is going on and I will figure it out", Stacy growled, while breathing heavily.
