Chapter Sixteen

The week went by slowly as usual. Rio and I kept it on the low at school, I wanted it that way so the girls he broke would have time to cool off before getting another shocker knowing he's now with me. I know those girls can be a bit crazy. When I'm sure I've gotten an upper hand with Rio then we'll go public. Wouldn't it be much fun to walk the hallways of school hand -in -hand with Rio through the piercing gaze of everyone? Shower their eyes with a lotta PDA - public display of affection - and then dump him on a platter of gold. The plan gets me pretty excited!

I sat quietly busying myself with my earphones during lunchtime on Friday. The class was really noisy so I just put in my favourite music and got drowned in my world. It wasn't long before I sighted him walking towards me. I rolled my eyes and pretended not to see him- as I always do when people are around. He got to me and sat on my desk. I had to take off my earphones else I'd look rude so I did.

" Hey!" Rio said

" Hey" I replied.

" Whatcha doing?" he asked lamely.

" Duh!! Listening to music, you blind or something" I said rudely. I expected him to get upset but he didn't, instead he laughed.

" Yes I am blind Anny. Blinded by these feelings that are overpowering my heart for you" he said. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

" I bet I could handle that. How 'bout I rip the heart outta chest, that would do, right?" I said with a wicked smile.

" Oh Anny! You already did, my heart ain't mine anymore. You ripped it off the first day you looked into my eyes"

" Oh please Rio, what do you want?" I said.

" To talk to my girlfriend, duhh!! You blind or something " he said mimicking my voice. I laughed involuntarily.

" That's not how I sound " I said

" Of course not. You sound better " Rio said and I rolled my eyes.

" I can't wait to be with you tomorrow " he said.

" You are with me"

" No, I mean just you and me. Nobody staring daggers at us" he said and narrowed his eyes to the left. I looked towards that direction and he was right. If looks could kill, Rio and I would probably be ten feet below the ground by now. With the way Samantha was staring at us, me in particular,I bet we wouldn't have lived another second.

" Yeah! I get it now. You should probably go talk to her" I said.

" What? No! She'll kill me babe, you hate me that much?" Rio said.

" Maybe" I shrugged.

" Nah! I know it's actually the opposite. It is for me" he said. I rolled my eyes and smiled. Well.. tell me bout it!!

His Pov

I couldn't miss the way her pupils rolled up and came back down and the way her lips curved up in a smile slowly , she's so perfect! I thought. I couldn't help staring at her and somehow I felt myself getting lost in her beauty. Those eyes, dunno what it is about them that makes my heart jump... Wait! Rio what are you doing?? I quickly took my eyes off her trying to collect myself. She seemed to notice this as the left side of her lips curved up in a smirk. Even her smirk is perfect! Jeez dude! What's wrong with you? Better get out of here else she'll get you bewitched in her eyes and lips. Two great features of her you can't avoid. Did I forget her hips! Gawd! You're such a fool Rio, you're definitely going to mess this game up if you don't stop thinking of her perfect features.

" What's on your mind, Rio?" her voice broke into my thoughts.

" Oh! Umm... thinking of your face when you see where I'm taking you tomorrow" I quickly said.

" I hate surprises Rio"

" Nahh! You'll love this one, trust me!"

" It's something that'll take forever, yunno" she mumbled. I guess I wasn't supposed to hear that so I acted like I didn't and she quickly covered it up with that charming smile of hers. I quickly looked away to avoid my stupid mind messing me up.

" Umm... I'd leave you now to your music" I said as I got down from her desk.

" Thanks" she said.

" Catch ya later" I said, winking at her. She smiled in return and I walked out.

I joined my friends where they were sitted. They hailed me as I joined them and I had to beg them to be quiet.

" I see you're taking on the beauty queen herself" David said punching me lightly on the shoulders.

" You banged her yet? How does she taste?" a guy named Kay said. Somehow his statement got me upset.

" What? No! Dude! We just started dating" I said. I immediately realized that that was a very stupid excuse. I've banged a girl in the first day of our relationship, not once though!

" Bruh, have you forgotten who you are?" Richard said.

" C'mon man! Tell us you're joking. That girl needs some good dick" Kay said again.

" Okay! That's enough guys, let Rio be" Canny said. I looked thankfully at him when I saw that smirk that I knew too well. Oh no!

" Our brother here has gotten whipped "Canny said and they all laughed. I felt awkward, can't possibly be whipped. I gotta prove them wrong.

" Okay, Okay! That isn't true! Definitely not true. I'm the royal heartbreaker, how can you say that about your king? You forgotten who you're talking about, I'm every girl's dream guy. No 1. Playboy" I said, praising myself.

" The king himself! " Richard said and made a prostrating gesture. They all laughed and started cheering me.

" Canny, I'm sure you've been whipped to say that I am" I said.

" Oh yeah! I won't deny that. I'm proudly whipped!" Canny said and they booed him. He didn't mind.

" You're always welcome brother. The world of love is free for all" Canny said.

" Nahh! Rio doesn't belong there. His work is get all them girls banged" David said and they cheered again. Canny reached out and slapped David playfully at the back of his head. We all laughed and continued with our banter. I looked around and caught sight of Anny. She was so lost in her music, her eyes were down on her phone and her head moving gently. Hope she didn't see or hear any of that. As if on cue, she looked up and her eyes met. She smiled beautifully at me and I swear my heart fluttered.

Gawd! Rio, what's wrong with you???

I quickly looked away and tried to steady my mind. I swear I don't know what's going with me. I might as well quit before it's too late. Nahh! I can't. I can do this. I'm the royal heartbreaker, I definitely can handle Anny...
