Its Your Turn

Nife's POV

I forced a smile and shifted my gaze from them to the rest of our friends.

For the love of God, everyone knows how intimate they were at school.

"Nifeoluwa, You can't be serious!"

I tilted my head sideways and dimmed my eyes playfully. Hearing Deji quibbles.

"As if you don't miss me?" He asked with his brows raised. I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Says, who??" I asked back.

He smirks and cuddles me into a warm hug.

"Come hug Daddy Joor…" He said, his voice sending tickles to my ear lobes down to my neck as l hugged him back.

Deji has changed so much in his physics. He was putting on white all through that matched his dreadlock hair.

After a few seconds, he broke the hug, he planted a kiss on my cheeks.

"Deji!"

I screamed his name. He laughed it off and started twirling me around.

"Babe, you have become more beautiful,"

"Ah, aaa… Deji…"

Ada came to my rescue and called out his name in a scolding tone.

"What missy, are you jealous?" He teases her.

Ada's jaw drops at his words, her expression missed with so many emotions, at the end she let out a loud laugh.

"Deji you no well,"

Deji in question, swings my hands back and forth laughing.

"Dey swear for the person wey do you this thing, chaii!" Ada cajoled him.

"Nope, Our Deji has always been like this,"

Jide commented as he joined us in the conversation and hugged Deji's shoulder with his right arm.

"Troubleshooter."

I added and we all burst into a fit of laughter. I glanced in the opposite direction Toyosi and Donald were standing and caught a glimpse of them holding hands and chatting.

The warm smiles on their faces prove how serious whatever they are saying is to them.

"Ah, kiloshele sofumi, Dd" Deji suddenly throws in his Yoruba direct, referring to Donald.

"You have all the time to rekindle your love with Tosi," he added,

"Abi ooh," Ada expressed and everyone laughed.

"Come on,"

Donald said, with a funny tone as he stepped close to the dining table with Toyosi who wrapped her arms around his arm.

We all settled down around the table and started helping ourselves with the meal.

The meals were handily made. I helped myself to fried rice, prawns, roasted chicken, and salads. Everyone helped themselves with what they wanted.

We all started digging into the meal and nodding our heads at the sweetness of the meal in our mouths.

"Mmmm,"

Deji moans between his meals and licks his lips with his eyes closed.

"Guy, you don gbes… hahaha" Jide teased him.

We all laugh again, making the atmosphere fun and vibely.

Ada clears her throat after she sips some water.

She grabbed a glass and slightly hit her spoon on it, to get everyone's attention.

All eyes went to her, and she began.

"It's been Ten good years since we graduated from college, and so much has changed for us."

She said as she flutters her lashes, her red lips still catchy,

"Yeah,"

"Yes,"

Everyone commented, either nodding their heads or wiping their mouth with wet napkins.

"We have been chilling, chatting, playing and we still have long days in the week to play.

Let's talk about what we have been up to after Ten years, starting with you Deji," she concluded.

Making everyone smile, Jide whistles and hype Deji.

"Here, you go man."

"Whoa! Why am I going first?" Deji complains?

"There's no way out for you. Start talking…" Toyosi demanded, with a cheesy smile.

"Ok,"

"Ok, here we go." Deji started.

We all look at him very interested in how he turned out so well. Deji was known as the party guy, cruise, name it, during our days in school.

"You all already knew my family is into the pharmaceutical industry?" We nodded at his question.

"So, after we graduated, I flew out of the country to study for my master's. After, set and done, l am the best pharmacist of my family's generation.

And apart from my parent's company l have my branch and am also working on my hospital project with a few of my friends from the States..."

Rounds of applause started sounding before he could finish his statements. Ada cheers so happily at the news, being that she's also a doctor.

"And, here l am guys, chilling with the best part of my life, which are you guys…"

"Sure man, we are proud of you. I am especially proud of you." Jide said with so much joy.

"Let's toast to your success," Donald said, and we all raised our glasses to cheer him on.

"I will go next…" Ada continued, her voice filled with so much excitement.

"After graduating, NYC and the rest. I got a letter to work in one of the best hospitals in Abuja and with luck will have it, I got promoted and am one of the senior doctors." She expressed with confidence.

"Wow, Ada you are doing great," Jide commented on her and Ada grins, blushing so hard.

Ada filled up her glass with wine and raised it, gingerly shaking her body both sideways.

"Shout out to the medicine crew… let's make some noise…" she hyped.

Deji joined her and they clicked their glass together and dawned the contents of their glass happily.

Everyone is just happy.

"So who's going next?" Deji asked while looking around the table.

He pointed his glass towards Donald who was sitting next to him.

 "Dd it's like you ooh,"

"Interesting,"

Toyosi said as she bites her lower lips seductively.

"Nope, there's nothing new to know. Who doesn't know Ademola's and their successor?"

"I tire oooh" Ada hyped before he could explain himself,

"True, but I would still love to hear about your adventures in England," Toyosi countered in her sweet voice. Donald smiles warmly at her as he sips his wine.

"Not today, Love, it's gonna be a story for another day." He replied.

"Whoa!!"

"What do I miss? What man?" Deji exclaims as he shakes his refusal to go with Donald's decision.

"Geez, Deji, fimile," Donald told him, making everyone laugh again.

"Even so, Ademola can never be an old story." Deji reasons.

"Yes,"

"True."

Jide and the rest responded with different opinions.

"All the same you should let me interact with my Beauties," Deji said as he looked from Toyosi to me. I swallowed hard, knowing what was coming next.

"Your beauties??" Ada asked in a mocking tone.

"Yeah, and you are part of it, so deal with it," Deji said.

"I will go first then," Toyosi started as she carried herself with her demeanor.

"After graduating, l found myself doing well as a host in my father's media company, and Donald you remember how passionate I am about modeling?" She said, directing the question to Donald.

"Yes, l do,"

Donald countered, making Deji gasps playfully.

Toyosi, not minding anyone, went on to explain everything to the end.

"So, I traveled to the UK to venture into my modeling career and am proud to be recognized as one of the best models in the world." She concludes.

"That's my beauty speaking." Deji clamors and refills the wine glass.

"Let's make a branded toast to your success. Beauty," Deji said.

We all raised our glasses and congratulated her.

The atmosphere went cool, and I returned to digging into my unfinished meal. I raise my head noticing the strange quietness.

The five of them had their eyes on me as if l owed them something.

'What?'

I throw using a body sign with my mouth open slightly.

"It's your turn,"
