Chapter 8 (His soft side)

Alexandra had decided to visit Kate on a Saturday morning as a surprise, she planned to stay over the night and hang out with her sister then on Sunday which is the second day, she would return to school.

It didn't go as planned, she came out of the taxi and saw Jake putting bags into his car, Alexandra smiled as she walked towards Jake.

"Hi Jake", she said smiling, her eyes dropped down at the travel bags in the car.

He smiled excitedly and closed the car boot.

"Alex!!! Hi! How are you doing?", he said grinning widely at the girl.

Immediately, Kate came out of the house wearing a long red dress, she looked so sexy in it and with her straw hat, anyone could tell she was going on a vacation.

She locked the door and turned to see Alexandra standing next to Jake, her happy expression says it all. She was glad to see Alexandra.

"Hey...", she hurried to her sister. Hugged her and said, "you didn't tell me you were coming over, is everything okay? I hope no one is disturbing you at school?", she asked still smiling.

Unlike Alexandra she had dark brown eyes, she took almost everything from their dad, and anyone would tell she was his daughter.

Alexandra knew they were heading out, she missed Kate and felt they haven't spent so much time together, but seeing Kate looking so pretty in that red dress she knew she could always come back another time.

"No, they dare not", she replied with a soft grin.

Kate gave Jake a concerned look.

How will she tell her sister she would be going on a vacation knowing she wanted to stay over the night?

Alexandra who had noticed her sister’s expression smiled through the disappointment, she looked at Jake and then at Kate, "I just came to say hi to you guys. I would be heading back to school now, seems you two are going on vacation", she said smiling to her sister who doesn't look too happy.

"Yes... we didn't know you would be coming, we would have shifted it to another day", Jake responded sharply.

Alexandra shook her head, "No no... it is totally fine... I was also planning to return today, it is totally fine", she bluffed out.

She can always go back to her dormitory, Kate looked so good in that dress and she would never ruin their precious day.

"Are you sure?", Kate asked.

"Yes totally! So where are you guys going?" She asked, staring at the excited couple.

"Jeju", Kate answered.

Jake checked his wristwatch and hurried to start the car.

Alexandra noticed they were running late, she sighed and smiled at Kate, "I am so happy you are happy Kate, Jake is a really good guy", she whispered.

Kate smiled at her sister, she moved closer and give Alexandra a big hug, "Are you sure you don't want to stay over? We could cancel the trip for today", she suggested.

"I love this cologne you are wearing Kate... what's the name so I can buy mine or will you just give me yours?”.

Kate immediately stopped hugging Alexandra. She shook her head in disapproval before getting in the car.

"I will call you to come over when I am back and we will spend the whole day together, the whole week if you want, I am sorry we couldn't do that today", Kate sincerely said.

"We are sorry Alex.... forgive us", Jake added.

Alexandra heard the car roar, she smiled and waved to them, "Don't worry about me guys, have fun...", she said and watched Kate wave as her boyfriend drove away from the apartment.

She smiled to herself.

The thought of Kate being happy made her even happier, Kate deserves it.

She has been everything and more to Alexandra, and seeing her happy made Alexandra satisfied.

"Why... you... smile... yourself".

Alexandra heard the voice more like a stutter.

She flinched and turned back to see the neighbor's son she had seen the first day she arrived smiling up at her, she ignored his not-so-good English and smiled down at the cute boy while waving at him.

She looked around and noticed his dad was not with him this time.

She knew he might not understand her English so well, she decided to break it down.

"Your... ermmm your dad, where is he?", She asked looking at the boy who seemed a bit confused, trying to understand Alexandra.

His silence and his confused expression made Alexandra realize he didn't understand her, she bite her lips in regret for not understanding Korea, she would have perfectly communicated with the boy.

"Abeoji and eomma!", the boy said as he pointed his finger in the direction of his house.

Alexandra looked and nodded, "I think I understand father and mother.... alright let us go, don't let them be worried huh?", she said and held his hand, "come on", she smiled down at the boy as they walked towards his house.

He pulled her hand as they got closer and immediately she looked down at him, he shook his head, "No".

"Huh! Why?", she said, and immediately a loud thud was heard from the house, followed by a loud aggressive argument, she looked down at the boy and saw his sad eyes, she instantly understood and felt sorry for him.

Alexandra understood what the boy was going through, little does his parent know their argument could cause trauma for the boy.

She asked if the boy wanted ice cream and when he agreed they both went down the street to get a cone of ice cream, they were both laughing and returning when Alexandra saw his father standing by the door.

He saw his son and walked away from the door.

"Dong min", he called out and immediately the boy ran towards him, he smiled at his son and then looked up at Alexandra.

"Hi.. you are Kate's sister, right? I see you and my Dong-min are already getting along, it is strange because he doesn't socialize with people....", he said and saw her give Dong-min a warm smile, "how are you enjoying our country so far?", he warmly asked.

Alexandra ignored the fact that he had just gotten out of a heated argument, she smiled and answered calmly.

"Very good... I see why Kate decided to make Korea her home", she said and saw the man laugh softly, suddenly it hit her, instead of always staying in the dormitory doing nothing, why not do something productive like helping this cute boy.

"Sir, I have a proposal".

Bus Terminal, 4:51 pm

Alexandra sat down smiling to herself, excited about what she would be doing in her free time.

"Since you said he doesn't socialize with people and he gets along with me, how about I come every Saturday to tutor Dong Min, it is free and I just want us to communicate well in English and if he wants he can teach me some Korean too, I would need it, sir."

She had said to the man and he had agreed.

"I feel like some professor right now... The boy seems like he needs a friend", she said and chuckled softly.

Alexandra looked at her side and her eyes caught a familiar person staggering out of a tavern, she looked closely and saw who it was, she gasped and hid her face as he walked towards the terminal.

"What is Ha Joon doing here? Why must I run into him like this, jeeeez!", she muttered and took a glance at him, he was standing a few feet from her waiting for the bus.

After a short while the bus arrived, Alexandra hesitated and waited for him to get in before she entered, she saw him sit in the back seat.

She sat three rows away from him and looked back frequently, as much as she tried minding her business her thoughts and attention were fixed on Ha Joon, not realizing a guy in his late 20s has been trying to take a picture of her thighs from his seat.

"He looked so sad, I wonder what is going through his mind", she whispered to herself and turned her face to look at him again, this time she saw Ha Joon coming towards her direction.

Alexandra gasped and quickly hid her face.

Instantly a loud thump made her look up.

Alexandra's eyes brightened on seeing Ha Joon pulling the guy who was about to fall from the hard punch up to hit him again.

"What is he doing!".
