"Yeah. It was actually nice to make some new friends here." I looked over at Mark who seemed happy. Am I not a friend to him? I though he said we were friends… A few minutes have passed, mainly of Iris giggling at everything Mark said and me forcing a smile. It was more than awkward for me, I wanted to go back.
"Iris, what would you like to have for dinner?" Is he going to cook for her too? I realized I have been biting my lower lip for a while now, that caused a bit of pain and maybe a little bit of blood too. "Are you going to cook?" Please say no.
"No. I'm going to order food." A heavy sigh escaped my lips, not loud enough for them to hear. "Then, how about some pizza?" Iris asked as she smiled at me. I nodded, smiling at her faintly.
Later, the time passed a bit quicker than before. We ate some pizza while we chatted a bit about university stuff and food preferences. Even though, I felt a bit sad seeing both of them acting close together, I had to make it through the night and act indifferent.
"Goodbye." Iris finally bid her goodbyes as she left. Mark and I were now standing at the building entrance. "Goodnight." I stated after Iris left, leaving Mark who was still standing there. He looked at me confused and followed me, but he kept his distance. Yeah, he found a better girl now. I am of no use beside him anymore.
"Everly" He called out my name, taking bigger steps this time. "Are you okay?" He asked, yet he wasn't looking at me. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" I kept with my pace and finally arrived to the entrance of my door. "You just seemed out of it today, I thought maybe you aren't feeling well. But it's good to hear you're okay."
"Are you now close friends with Iris?" He stopped as he looked at me, as if he was searching for the right answer. "Yeah." He breathed eyes lingering in mine. "Why?" I looked down licking my lips. I don't even know why I even asked this. "Nothing. Goodnight." With that, I entered my apartment, closing the door.
My heart aches.
Sighing heavily, I made my way to my bed and fell unto the cold mattress. A tear unwillingly running down my left cheek. It was this moment that I knew for real, this moment that hit me, this moment that made me realize for sure what I'm feeling.
My heart aches because I'm jealous, and I'm jealous because-
I like him.

MARK POV:
"I messed up." My hands ruffled my hair in anger. "Who said that?" Raoul, who was sitting on the head of my closet, asked as he was looking through his phone. "Well, she looked sad most of the time. I thought this was supposed to make her jealous, not depressed. "You're talking as if you have some experience. Leave this on us." Iris teasingly said as she was fixing her makeup. "I'm sure she now knows she likes you." Iris continued as she put down her lipstick. "There is no way she saw us this close with each other all happy and giggly and felt nothing. She's also smart enough to know that what she felt isn't something normal, its love."
"I agree with Iris." Raoul jumped down on the floor. "Knowing Everly, she's most probably on her bed lost in thoughts about her feelings towards you." He chuckled putting his phone in his back pocket. "So I won't come back here tomorrow right?"
"Yeah, you'll have to come back after tomorrow. We should give Everly time to think about her feelings. It's all new to her."
"Yeah, it's all new to her… and I'll end up making her hate these feelings. I don't want to hurt her."
"Don't think it that way. You're saving her from a much bigger pain that a heartbreak." "Raoul is right. It's better than seeing her turn into devil where we will have to kill her at some point." "We'll be leaving then. Take care." Iris said as she disappeared. "Stop them, you'll end up hurting both of you."
"What?" I looked at Raoul who was sternly looking at me. "Your feelings towards her. Stop them from growing." He then vanished from in front of me as my head laid back to my pillow.
I'm sorry Everly, I'm sorry I'm your first love.

"Wear some nice comfortable clothes and let's go." "Huh?" Now standing at the door of Everly's apartment I smiled at her lost figure. She must've just woken up. "We're going out."
"Why?" "Why not?"
"Go and ask Iris, I'm tired." I chuckled at her half asleep state that was pouting her lips cutely. "Come on. Be quick." She frowned at me before going in shutting the door.
I'm going to do it my way, making her heart glow gold. I don't want to hurt her now, and i'll leave the future for the future.
Few minutes later, she came back out. Wearing a yellow t-shirt that suited her skin very well, with an over-sized jeans that went well with the shirt. A pair of white snickers with a white bag that had some yellow flowers on it. Yellow really suited her.
"Why are you starring this much?" She annoyingly said . I chuckled leading the way to the taxi that I called a few minutes ago.
