Taking Out The Trash (1)

Orion ran through the forest with extreme speed as he followed behind the Twin Tailed Wolf in front of him.

The forest was pitch black now that the sun had fully set and the light from the large full moon couldn't reach the forest floor due to the large trees.

Orion had his eyes closed as he ran and used his mana sense to see his surroundings. Everything within 30 meters was as clear as day in his mind.

They quickly reached a cave on the side of a small cliff but the wolf stopped abruptly before entering the cave. Orion frowned as he smelled the odour coming from the cave in front of him making the wolf whimper in disgust, it was worse than the smell from the castle full of undead.

It was a mixture of blood, decay and bodily waste. Due to Orion's senses being sharper than normal it made him sick but Orion still swallowed his urge to retch.

He removed his helmet from storage and equipped it as he began to walk forward. "Wait here, pup. I won't be long," Orion said.

The cave was too narrow for Orion to use his Nodachi and his Tachi comfortably. He stored the two large blades into his storage space and unsheathed his two shorter Wakizashi.

He still had his two double edged axes, his combat knife and his chefs knife attached to his armor. Orion stopped suddenly and reached for his chefs knife, "there's no way in hell I'm getting you dirty with this shit." Orion spoke as he stored his chefs knife into the storage space.

Orion wanted to take a deep breath but the wretched air in the cave didn't allow him to. He calmed his mind and released his full aura declaring his presence.

Orion thought that the situation would go just like it did in the rabbit village so he didn't bother sneaking in.

*SKKKREEEEE*

Suddenly, Orion stopped moving when he heard the cries of hundreds of goblins ahead of him. The walls began to tremble slightly as Orion felt the goblins approaching quickly.

'Strange... they're coming straight at me? Shouldn't they be pissing themselves in fear like last time?' Orion thought as he tried to understand this unexpected outcome.

Orion thought it would be a quick slaughter even if they had thousands of goblins but he could feel small vibrations of hundreds of footsteps rushing towards him.

Orion closed his eyes and used his mana sense but he was shocked as soon as the goblins reached the 30 meter mark.

There were about a hundred goblins rushing towards him but the expressions on their faces were as if they were on some kind of drug.

They ran towards him and even crawled on the walls and ceiling. They didn't hold any weapons but the nails on their hands and feet were long and deformed.

"KRREEEEEE KEKEKE!!!"

They spat large amounts of saliva as they yelled at Orion the closer they got. Orion was amazed they could ignore his aura and killing intent completely.

'Goblin king? Hmm, I hope it can put up a decent fight,' Orion thought. The goblins arrived quickly in front of Orion and were only a few meters away from him.

Orion suddenly threw his two Wakizashi into the air, he then quickly reached behind his back and threw the two axes by crossing his arms horizontally in front of him. Orion manipulated his mana into his arms and threw his two axes with tremendous force.

They flew towards the horde of goblins running on the ground as they spun like helicopter blades. The two axes sliced cleanly through almost all the goblins running on the ground.

They were all cut at the neck or chest and were blown back by the trailing wind. Orion caught his two Wakizashi as the first couple of goblins began to jump off the walls towards him.

Orion still had his eyes closed and mana sense activated as he began to cycle his breathing technique against his strong desire not to. At the moment, the putrid air was the least of his concerns.

Instead of cycling and manipulating his mana into a single part of his body, Orion allowed it to flow freely throughout his whole being. The mana began to invigorate his muscles and sharpen his senses drastically.

When the mana reached his brain, however, something miraculous began to occur. His mana sense felt a pulse of energy coming from Orion's head.

Suddenly, the goblins that were falling above Orion became slow and were basically suspended in mid air. Orion became stunned and realized that it wasn't time that had slowed down, but his brain processing his surroundings at an alarming speed.

Orion saw six goblins flying his way from both walls and the ceiling. Orion only swung both arms once as he cut through all six goblins cleanly. Orion exhaled steam and walked forward calmly.

Everything was moving incredibly slow but Orion could move freely as he used the full extent of his speed.

Before this, Orion's eyes could barely keep up with his speed and it was only slightly better when he used mana sense.

Now, however, everything slowed down allowing him to use his full speed, pushing past his previous limits as his brain processes his surroundings effortlessly.

It seemed as if Orion was running at a normal speed but as he used gale step and his legs reinforced themselves with mana, it was like a gust of wind passed through the unsuspecting goblins.

Orion reached the end of the horde and swung his two blades down as he exhaled steam, cleaning them of the green sticky blood.

When Orion stopped moving and cycling his mana, his surroundings returned to normal. All the remaining goblins became bloody and dismembered almost simultaneously.

Orion looked at his work through his mana sense and felt a sense of pride as he continued to grow in strength and ability. He never imagined that his brain could continue to develop and become such an important part of his battles.

"System, buy the mana manipulation upgrade," Orion said calmly.

Orion began to manipulate his mana once more and felt that it not only became much easier but every cell and fibre of his entire body was being enveloped and caressed by mana.

It was a euphoric feeling that made Orion feel invincible. As he held onto the blades in his hands, he suddenly had a feeling that his mana wanted to continue travelling onto the blades themselves.

Orion used his breathing technique again and calmed his mind as he carefully guided the mana from inside his body to the outside of his blades.

At first it was just a drop of mana that began to cover the hilts of the swords, but suddenly as if a faucet had been opened, his mana began to rush out of him and cover his two blades.

The more he concentrated, the more the mana followed his will. At first it looked clumsy and messy as the mana was like waves of jelly moving haphazardly on the surface of the blades.

But with only a couple of seconds of concentration, the mana became more and more condensed. It went from jelly moving uncontrollably, to sharp blue flames that laid snuggly on the blade just like skin.

Orion was amazed at how beautiful the blades looked covered in sharp blue flames. Orion used his breathing technique to its full extent as he began to absorb the mana in his surroundings.

He didn't know how powerful his new technique would be, but the amount of mana it took to maintain this state, made it clear to Orion that it wasn't anything to scoff at.

As the next wave arrived, of what seemed to be another hundred or so goblins, Orion became excited to see his new technique in action.

He had the idea that if he could send his mana onto his blades, then what if he could release it even further?

Orion brought his arm up as he manipulated more mana onto his blade. He then swung down as he released all the wild mana he condensed on the surface of his sword.

*VWOOM*

A sharp blue blade made of mana about four feet in length was sent flying forward towards the horde of goblins.

The line was thin and sharp but the air around it became chaotic and wild, as soon as it made contact with the first goblin, Orion opened his eyes from disbelief.

The blade went through the first goblin cutting it right down the middle, but what followed after that was what shocked Orion to his core.

It seemed as if the blade only cut through a single goblin but not even a second later, all the goblins at the front of the horde began to be shredded into strips.

The force carried by the thin blade was invisible but was way beyond Orion's expectations in terms of power.

The blade continued to fly down the narrow path shredding everything in its path. The blade only stopped when it crashed into the wall as the cave's path began to curve to the right.

The only survivors of this onslaught were the goblins that were on the ceiling. All the goblins on the floor and on the walls were shredded into a million pieces by the force following the mana blade.

Orion was surprised by the prompt saying he obtained two skills instead of just one. "System, why are the skills split into two?" Orion asked.

'Oh? I guess I still need to experiment with these skills' Orion began to think of how he could find the different results of the skills as he achieves better control.

'Interesting..' Orion thought as he showed a devilish smile and swung his blades mercilessly, ending the lives of the remaining goblins.
