Ten Gold Rankers

The two division of MoonElf Royal Army led by Commander Sicantik was decimated within a few minutes after the ogres received aid from the dragon army. The survivors were less than one hundred and none of them had any thought of running away. They stood mightily despite having injuries all over their body.

Sicantik herself was now badly injured. She was kneeling on the floor as she wiped the blood dripping from the corner of her mouth. Both her guardian were not faring that well either. They both stood not too far from Sicantik. They had bruises and injury all over their body. In their current state, it would be a miracle if they managed to survived this war.

"This is it, I guess."

Sicantik sighed dejectedly.

With how powerful their opponent were, there really was no way for them to fight back. Two gold ranked insane bosses was indeed way too much for their army which didn't even have one.

"I believe that it is best for you to escape and regroup with the king, commander."

"I second that."

Both Tampan and Hensem only had one job, to ensure the safety of Sicantik. With how the war had been proceeding, the only way for them to do so was to bring her away from the battlefield.

"I'm not going anywhere! I live and die with my soldiers."

Unfortunately, Sicantik was equally stubborn and proud as those other elven warriors. She would rather die bravely on the battlefield than fleeing by herself.

"But commander!"

"I am a commander of an army! I live and die together with my army! Stop trying to persuade me otherwise."

Commander Sicantik was a true soldier. Even if she was a female, her heart was stout and decisive. She wouldn't abandon her comrade in arms just to stay alive. But still, her determination meant nothing in front of absolute power. Their opponent was way too strong.

"Done with your pointless chatter?"

Approaching the three of them from the front was King Hitam Cair, the one responsible for the demise of their army. His black dragon army easily ravaged the elven army from the sky. It was hard enough for the elven army to face the ogre army, let alone the heavy reinforcement of dragon army.

Behind King Hitam Cair was Oggy who followed closely like a loyal lackey. As a low level gold ranker, he was indeed a lackey when compared to King Hitam Cair. Behind them stood four silver ranked insane bosses in tow. They were without doubt the commander of this army.

"..."

"Nothing to say? Hahaha. Any last word?"

With a mocking tone, King Hitam Cair grinned as he observed the three injured elves in front of him. The other elves were mostly killed by now. These three were spared because King Hitam Cair had things planned for them.

"..."

"You guys sure are uptight. Oggy, caged them."

As if he already knew that the elves wouldn't reply to him, he then asked Oggy to capture the three of them without killing them. He had been ordered to do so by his nephew, Dominic. This elven commander might held something important.

Right on top of the battlefield, a huge red drake was still hovering the area without any intention of descending. On the back of that dragon stood eight individuals. They looked humanoid but on closer look everyone would surely know that none of them were humans.

"What should we do now?"

A beautiful woman with smooth, shiny skin asked. Her skin was pale bluish, her hair was blue and her blue eyes looked dead. She was Cairan, a gold ranker sent by AncientHydra Dukedom. Behind her stood her younger sister Cairy who shared almost the same physical traits as her.

"As if I know. Those damn feeder goblins didn't report their progress for quite a time already. What else can we do?"

The one who replied was a brutish man with a lot of fur all over his tough body. His pitch black beard was long enough to touch his chest hair. He was Waliwa, the representative of AshenWolf Dukedom. Together with him was another furry guy named Dadan. Dadan was not the type to talk but he observed everyone present in silent.

"Of course you don't know. You never use your head. Isn't that right, Tomtom?"

"Haha that's right. Wolf guy are all muscle head."

Butting into the conversation was two fierce looking man with bodies way buffer than those two from the AshenWolf Dukedom. They were Tintin and Tomtom from AtomicTiger Dukedom.

"Says the guy who thinks using their knee."

Waliwa sneered. Everyone present knew that these people from AtomicTiger Dukedom was way more barbaric than those from AshenWolf Dukedom.

"What did you say? You want a piece of me? Huh?"

Tomtom was a the real muscle head indeed. He fumed right away after being mocked. Raising his fist in anger, he was ready to leapt forward and attack Waliwa who stood not too far from him.

"Enough."

Just one word. One word was enough to keep the angry Tomtom in check. Even Waliwa turned timid when this man said that word. This man was actually an old man with wrinkles all over his face. His long hair had turned white since ages but nobody present dared to look down on this old man. Despite how old he looks, he was not a hunched back. He was instead a suave and dashing old man.

This man was Red Dragon King Romeo, the second in command of DragonKeep Dukedom. He was ranked twentieth in the top gold ranked insane bosses in HeavensTale. Only the leader of the other dukedom could talk back in front of him. Others were just juniors in his eyes.

Romeo was sent here to deal with MoonElf King Sikacak. If one was a HeavensTale player, one would know right away that Romeo who ranked last in the top ranking was surely not Sikacak's match. But the thing was, none of these monsters knew.

The ranking they were familiar with was those exalted ranks. In their eyes, both Romeo and Sikacak passed the mortal ranked tribulation hence they should be on the same level.

"Keep your vigilance. Their reinforcement can appear anytime."

"Yes, elder."

Romeo once again proven his superiority when his casual word was replied heartily by everyone present. Smiling behind him was a beautiful woman who was also from DragonKeep Dukedom, Blue Dragon Empress Assym.

With the eight gold ranker led by Romeo present, thier might would surely threaten the ranked fourteenth Sikacak.

"When will we be able to join in? Mira is bored."

"With how weak the opponent is, i don't think master would bother asking us to join the fight."

"I... I think so too."

"..."

Without anything else to do, Mays's spirit could only chatted among themselves as they awaited the signal which might not even coming. Flamence was already snoring behind them as if it knew that it wouldn't be interrupted in the meantime.

"Those black things... Mira thought they were strong. Who knows they were too weak that Lady Ria and Lady Hallel could take them alone. Mira felt betrayed!"

Stomping her feet in anger, it was obvious that Mira was totally frustrated at the moment. She wanted to join in the fight but there was no valid reason for her to do so.

"Well... I think we might have to spend the whole night here I guess."

"No!!! Mira don't wanna! This is all your fault, Syaitona!"

As if she was a kid, throwing a tantrum had always been Mira's specialty. Syaitona and the others shook their head when they saw Mira like that. She would stay that way until her need was fulfilled.

"Silence."

Silvia who was silent all these time suddenly hushed with her finger placed on top of her lip. Her expression was stern. Her ears twitching a bit as she focused herself on listening to something.

"An army is approaching. We should notify master fast."

Her strict tone revealed how dire the situation was. The approaching army should be strong enough for Silvia to feel that restless. A mere weak army on the same scale as previous goblin army wouldn't make her this way.

"How strong are they?"

Syaitona who stood in front of Silvia asked. She was not in her playful tone anymore. She was now as strict as she could be as the leader of this group of spirits.

"Stronger than normal gold ranked insane bosses. I believe there might be top rankers within their ranks."

"In that case, Mira... Go notify master right away!"

"Right away. Mira knew that something like this gonna happen hehe."

In a flash, Mira disappeared from her current location. She was totally pumped up when she heard about the incoming army. If the enemy was strong enough, she would have her time to shine in the battlefield. It was boring for her to wait and watch without doing anything.

At the former battlefield between the elves and the goblins, three figure stood imposingly in the middle of the destroyed landscape. Countless craters covered the surface of the area proving that the battle which took place there moments ago was a great one.

The surviving goblins were all killed by the elves who braved themselves to came out from the castle led by Princess Manissa. With how down casted all those goblins were after the death of those demonic spawns, killing them were totally easy.

Princess Manissa was now standing in front of the goblin general, Gomen. Gomen had already lost all hope and now totally submissive. He didn't even put up a fight when Princess Manissa and her guards captured him.

"Should we approach them and convey our gratitude?"

The princess's aide asked in a low tone. They were after all not too far from Mays and his two companions.

"Let's stay out of their way for now. They seemed to be in the middle of something."

Princess Manissa replied as her gaze focused on Mays who stood unmoving since a while ago. He seemed to be lost in his own thought. She didn't want to interrupt him if he was really in the middle of something if possible.

The truth is, Mays was just observing the two carcass of the former demonic spawn which had been shriveled like a mummy without interest. He already knew that the moment those two demonic spawn used up all their magic power, the possessed body would immediately turned into their current state.

The former hobgoblin, the real owner of those two bodies were obviously already dead. The two demonic spawns soul were also dead as they used up all their magic powers during the fight. Mays then shifted his sight toward his companions before he started talking.

"So, what do you think about the fight earlier?"

With a grin, Mays asked both Ria and Hallel for their opinion.

"It feels weird. As if I am not controlling my own body."

"Oooh, and you?"

This time, Mays's gaze fixed on Hallel who stood close by.

"Nothing interesting. Its decent."

Brushing it off as if it was nothing, Hallel replied in a lazy manner.

"Just so you know, that is Drasca's skill. She can boost us up to five time our normal prowess. Cool isn't it?"

Coiling over Mays's neck was Drasca who was now able to move again. When she used that enhancement skill previously, her body was paralyzed for as long as that skill remained active. Normally, she wouldn't use that skill out in the open. But with Mays present, she had nothing to worry.

"Masteeeeeeeeeeeeer!!"

From not too far away, Mira's voiced echoed as she shouted excitedly.

"That girl, what trouble is she brewing this time."

Shaking his head helplessly, Mays's gaze followed the small girl as she approached him as fast as she could. Rather than braking midway, she apparently had no intention on stopping in front of Mays. She rushed forward as she hugged Mays in full velocity, resulting in the two of them rolling together for quite a distance.

"What are those two doing?"

"No idea."

Ria shrugged her shoulder when she was asked. Obviously she had no idea about it either.

---------------------------------------------------

"What the hell are you thinking?!!"

"Sorry! Please forgive Mira, it was unintentional."

Helplessly looking at the innocent face of Mira covered with mud, Mays's anger reduced by a lot. He indeed have a soft spot on those he cared for. After rolling on the floor for a bit, he himself was also covered with mud, making him looks quite silly. Both Ria and Hallel laughed when they saw Mays like that.

"Can't you at least slow down a little when you saw me not too far away?"

"Mira forgot how to hehe."

"Ugh, never mind. So, what brings you here?"

Face palming yet again, Mays then asked Mira the reason for her rushing toward him in haste.

"Ahhhh yea. Master! There is a huge army coming. There are strong people there too."

"Oh really?"

"Yep, yep."

Mira nodded excitedly. She was totally anticipating the fight which was about to commence. But again, not everything happened as one expected. As both Mays and Mira brushed off the mud and soil splattered all over their body, someone who they didn't know talked to them.

"Err, sorry. Are you guys perhaps the messenger of god?"

The one who suddenly spoke to them was Princess Manissa, the leader of all these elven guards. Behind her was her aide who held his head up high even when he was facing Mays. Mays then observed the two of them for a bit before he replied.

"I don't know who the god you talks about but I came here by my own free will. And also, we are godkins in case you don't know."

As usual, Mays's reply was in his noncommittal tone. It never mattered who he talked to be it the king nor a beggar, his tone way always the same.

"Ah, I see. Also, thanks for your help earlier. All of us elves would have died if you had not acted."

The princess even bowed as she expressed her gratitude. She was totally sincere. With her melodious voice, even Mays couldn't help but feel relaxed after hearing it. He even unconsciously thought that it was a pity this elf was not a singer.

"It's okay. We just happened to pass by."

With a gesture of his hand, Mays brushed it off as if it was nothing big for him.

"Are you guys perhaps the godkin who are supposed to help my brother in the fight against the ogres and goblins?"

"Help you people? We..."

Before Mays managed to finish his line, he was interrupted by Hallel who had been observing the two of them talking from the side. She appeared to be angry for some reason.

"Excuse me, young lady. We have urgent matter to do. In fact, there is an army heading this way so you people better prepare yourself."

With a haughty tone, Hallel blurted out her line. She wanted to make this natural enchanter troubled by mentioning the incoming army. In fact, she was indeed jealous at how this newcomer had been stealing Mays's attention ever since she started talking.

"Ah, you guys already knew about the approaching army. Formidable indeed."

"Wait, you also know about it?"

It was Hallel herself who was shocked. Her intention on making the princess flustered backfired and the one who was shocked right now was herself.

"Of course I know. It was the army led by my brother."

Princess Manissa replied with a charming smile on her face. Despite being a young princess at the age of twenty, her beautiful face was actually on par with the likes of Drasca and Shalala. A nation toppling beauty indeed.

After knowing that no trouble would come after them, Mays and the rest agreed to take a rest inside BrightMoon Palace for a bit. Since it was still midnight, they were all sent to a guest room while they awaited the arrival of the king.

The guest room was large enough to accommodate dozens of people, let alone Mays's party of nine. The room was moderately furnished, leaving an impression of those medieval age noble house vibe.

"Shouldn't we hurry over to Kasimon and the rest?"

"No need. I never was someone who rushed things. I think."

"You're not? Let me think... Urm... Maybe... I don't know either haha."

The mood inside the guest room was quite weird. On one side, there was Mays and Ria who chatted happily as if nothing important was happening around them.

"Stop sulking Mira. You gonna fight to your heart content soon."

"Yeah. I... I also think that way."

"..."

On the other side was a depressed Mira who was pumped up for nothing earlier. In the end, the other spirits tried their hardest to cheer her up. Standing close to the window was Hallel, observing the movement of elves outside the palace. Nobody knew what she was currently thinking.

They only waited for half an hour before the army led by King Sikacak stormed the palace. Waiting in front of the palace entrance was Princess Manissa escorted by dozen of guards. The main reason why she decided to wait there was to relieve the worry of her elder brother. She knew that her elder brother doted on her the most after their parents perished five years ago.

The army led by King Sikacak had few casualties as they only faced off against a weak army of ogre led by a silver ranked insane boss. It was as if that weak army was sent there as a diversion and their real intention lies elsewhere. That worried the king so much that the first thing the king do after they win was to confirm the safety of his sister.

"Manissa. Tell me in details about the attack from earlier."

"Right away, brother. Come, follow me."

Led by Princess Manissa, both King Sikacak and his fiancee Comel followed closely behind. All the guards escorting the princess earlier was now leading the tired army of the king toward their resting place.

"Also, there are several godkins currently resting inside this palace."

"What did you say??!!"
