Solomon Academy of Magic (1)

Everything is better in blue, they say… Following Felicia in her gaudy blue robes, the rudimentary academy tour commenced. I can't help but yawn in boredom. Clearly, Miss Bluesong here is doing quite great in her job. It's just that I am too much of an ass to appreciate her efforts.

What I appreciate though is Miss Felicia's nice figure. That gait, charm, and front-load-assets… She gets full marks from me. Maybe aware of my lecherous gaze, the woman suddenly flinched.

Relax. I am a man of culture. I won't touch you. I didn't say that I won't look at you though. Still, she must be creeped out big time. It's my intention though. I believe her impression of me is that of a bigshot capable of subduing a high-level lich. I don't like that, I'd rather go small time.

Hmmm… I might as well be honest about my desires huh? Well, she's good eye candy.

"Hey Felicia, what do you think of me?" Though that sounds like a pick-up line, it is not.

"Dangerous?" She shortly replied askance. "Ah—ah—ah… Not in a bad way!!"

Not in a bad way? I am not sure about that. Being dangerous can go both ways you know? Maybe I am dangerous because I am strong. Not just anyone can subdue a lich. Or maybe, I am dangerous because I am a pervert? I regret looking at her perversely a while ago…

We continued on the tour— the cafeteria, lounge, garden… and so on…

"This is the main plaza… The Headmaster greets the first-year students here. Do you see that statue, it's the legendary archmage, Solomon…" Felicia explained, and I listened unenthusiastically.

With her blue robes accentuating her figure, I thought… She's really not bad at all. In my opinion, she's just a point below my 2d waifus. Then, I realized… I was also wearing blue.

I summoned a Dye Crystal from my Arcane Storage. While Miss Felicia wasn't looking, I immediately activated the item at hand. Dye Crystals have one function, to change the colors of items. Reconfiguring my robes, I went for the colors dark green and leathery brown.

Hehehe… I want the color that would remind people around me what shit looks like.

Finally, our tour reached the final destination— the Headmaster's office.

Is there any particular reason why this tour has to be done?

Yes, there is…

The thing is I want to apply for a job in this academy. 2 months from now, a world summit will be conducted in the Ruins of Yore. The lich clued me in, but most of the information I have comes from Felicia. After I harshly interrogated— no, kindly asked her— she provided me with information about the so-called summit.

Solomon Academy of Magic, one of the leading magic academies in the world has a slot for the summit. I want that slot. However, to be in that slot, becoming this academy's Head Professor is necessary.

I can negotiate, but judging from how Felicia describes the academy's headmaster, that would be difficult.

"Hmmm… Somehow, you looked different. Your robes? What happened to them?" Felicia turned to me, curious about my attire.

"Oh, I used a Dye Crystal."

"What? You are that rich?" Felicia was surprised, and to my surprise, I was surprised that she was surprised!! …surprise-surprise?

But…

Rich? Really? So in this world, having Dye Crystals means that you are rich. That doesn't sound so convincing at all. Looks like I have to update my common sense of this world on top of all things I have to do. In a sense, this world might look like Magic and Monstrosity, yet at the same time not.

"Sir Archmage, excuse me. I'll greet the Headmaster first."

"Okidoki."

Okidoki? What kind of dialect was that? Felicia was infinitely curious about this Archmage. In the Solomon Kingdom, they only have two— the Headmaster and the Court Wizard. Even though their kingdom is among the top 100 magic civilizations, they are only able to possess two Archmages.

Irileth Empire like them only has two. That's an empire!! Their government is totally on another level.

Archmage Wally? For Felicia who's always up to date on the latest news, it's incomprehensible to her that she doesn't know such a character.

On second thought, that might be reasonable. Their meeting in the Goblin Cave is nothing sort of terrifying for her. The legendary lich who was considered among the top 10 Archmages was subdued by this man. Perhaps, is Archmage Wally a hidden expert?

'Ancient Era… The myth class…' Chill rose from her spine. Felicia thought that she stumbled upon a secret that might cause her life! She recalls being checked by the Archmage when they were doing the tour. Though the gaze felt sticky and weird, she is almost certain… Archmage Wally is unto her.

"I'll put a good word for you!" Felicia said to Wally and immediately bolted for the Headmaster's office.

BANG!

The door was shut closed with a BAM.

Headmaster Bennet Mew Solomon III looked strangely in her way. Is it really necessary to get angry at the door?

"Headmaster, I am sorry for the intrusion."

"I think the door deserves the apology more than I do." Bennet jokingly remarked.

Felicia went red in shame. But as someone who's both an educator and a mage, she quickly gathered her thoughts. With a calm voice, she spoke.

"Headmaster, someone wants to apply for a Head Professor's position."

"Huh? Ok, same rules. He or she has to teach in the academy for ten years, and after…"

"Headmaster, he wants a spot for the world summit."

"What? Impossible!! That's preposterous. Only the most talented and influential can join the event. Many Solomon nobility is trying to butter me up fantasizing that maybe I'll bring them with me to the summit. Do you know just how much important that is? And also, there would be lots of…"

Aaaand the scolding started. Felicia offered one ear and let it pass to the other… That is just how important the World Summit is… But Felicia isn't backing down. Though she is disillusioned that Archmage Wally is breathing on her neck like a Red Dragon would, she is as much aware that the said Archmage's presence can bring them benefits in the coming summit.

"But, Headmaster… He's an archmage…"

"???"

"And he's as strong as the top 10 Archmages of the world…"

"!!!"

This time, Headmaster Bennet Mew Solomon III started questioning whether Felicia hasn't eaten any meal yet, or it was just that he heard wrongly.
