Epilogue II

(William's P.O.V)

1 year later

It had been a year since Selene had sent me and the children back to the Lunar Realm with Charlotte and I could honestly say that I never would have guessed that any of this was real. Charlotte was, apparently, the granddaughter of the king of the sea dwellers and shifters. So, we lived in the palace in their kingdom, Oceri, and her grandfather was more than happy to have us there, surprisingly. Her grandfather is Lir, who was, technically, the Celtic God of the Sea, but he gave up his powers when he met Charlotte's grandmother, who was a sea nymph of the kingdom.

Lottie has come into her powers as a hybrid sea nymph, and it was amazing to see the bond that she had with her mother and her great-grandfather. It made me miss Nerina. Even though we only had a few days together and knowing who we were to each other, we created a bond that I never expected. It was a nice surprise to find out that Selene had gifted Nerina and John the mirror for us to communicate through, though it was a little awkward when they called and interrupted Charlotte and I "reuniting". Least to say we put a towel over the mirror when we "reunite" so it doesn't happen again. John told me a few days ago that he and Nerina were expecting, and I couldn't be more thrilled for them. He deserves all the happiness the Moon Goddess bestows upon them.

Charlotte and I got married shortly after we came to the Lunar Realm, and she insisted on marking me during the ceremony. I had no idea what that meant, but I said yes because I wanted to be hers in every way possible. A small part of me, the part that Lottie says is "toxic masculinity talking", wishes I hadn't, but the love I have for my Charlotte outweighs that. Her mark is a small blue seahorse on my neck as her and Lottie both share the same gift of sea creature manipulation. I would have preferred a shark, but oh well. William and Lottie have both found mates, having had both their spouses perish before learning of who they were. They no longer keep in touch with their children, since moving to the Lunar Realm, but they were okay with that. They did have Selene ferry a letter to their children letting them know that they were alright and that they would contact them as often as they could.

Tonight, we were going to the kingdom of Eferhile, the Fae kingdom here in the Lunar Realm, to celebrate the 20th birthday of Princess Morrigan. She is the adoptive daughter of the Fae King Leonard and his mate and wife, Queen Raya. Her story is most intriguing to me as she was left on their doorstep on the Winter Solstice. We are going as representatives of King Lir, as he said "I don't want to go, it's your turn" to myself, Charlotte, and the kids. So here we are, in the car on our way to the palace, but something has been off about Charlotte all day. She's been a little off color lately but has been passing it off as a cold. However, from what I understand of supernaturals—even hybrids—they don't get common human ailments.

"Charlotte, what is going on? Please talk to me." I beg her once again because I couldn't take it anymore.

"Ugh, I was going to wait to tell you, but I suppose now is better than later since you lot are here. I'm pregnant."

"Wait, what? How is that possible?" I murmur.

"Well, dad, when a man loves a woman—" William begins, chuckling.

"Shut up, you know that's not what I meant. Overgrown man child." I hiss.

"Love, there's no age cap on having children here in the Lunar Realm or with supernaturals in general." She giggles.

Oh, I guess that does make sense in some respects, since they are immortal.

"Congratulations mom and dad! Oh, I finally get to be a big sister!" Lottie squeals, hugging her mate.

"Please have a boy, I already have to put up with one baby sister, I don't need another." William says, his mate slapping his upper arm for his cheek.

"I can't wait to be there for you this time." I murmur, kissing her lips softly.

9 months later

"Push Charlotte! One more push!" I say, as I'm delivering our baby…in our bedroom…at the castle.

Charlotte chose to have a home birth and wanted me to deliver the baby, because why the hell not? I nearly fainted when her water broke, and I knew this was going to be a horrendous idea, but here I am, delivering my daughter. We did have one of the fin-folk nurses and a sea nymph doctor in the room with us to make sure that everything went accordingly and that she wasn't in distress. Charlotte pushes once more and out pops our daughter right into my hands, and if I wasn't holding her, I would have thrown up and fainted. Her cries pierce the air as the doctor and nurse take her from me and place her on Charlotte's chest after clearing her airways. I walk over to the top of Charlotte's bed and take a good look at my baby girl. She has her mother's hair and when she opens her eyes, she has her mother's eyes. Her mother's clone.

"What should we name her darling?" I whisper, stroking a finger gently down my daughter's cheek.

"We should name her Nerissa." She whispers back, looking me lovingly in the eyes.

"I love it. Nerissa is perfect." I murmur, kissing the top of her head.

My life is finally complete and if I were to die here and now, I would die a happy and well loved man.
