Wonder When the Widow Wails

Tokyo Japan, the city is nice and i would love to tour it more but instead here i am hunting a spider hunting her prey. Sitting in a cafe with Laura and Selene we sit there sipping some Boba as we watch a red head bombshell saunter across the street after some Japanese business man.

Silly Natasha you're getting careless. I look over at Laura who slips away from the table and gets lost in the crowd. "Well its always amusing how you two speak without ever speaking" Selene chirped.

"Thats due to years of being stuck inside of cells across from each other. They loved us, the girl who would heal from anything and the guy who's cellular structure never deteriorated. They believed the two of us to be the key to true immortality. My cells that wont die coupled with her high speed regenerating abilities." Essex truly pulled every experiment he could with me and Laura to obtain his perfect immortality.

"I believe he's not wrong. The sheer vitality i feel from you...its almost as if you yourself will live hundred of thousands of years. The pure thought of it....excites me." Looking at the mischievous and lusty grin Selene is giving me, it takes some will power to turn my ahead and ignore her.

My watch buzzes three times which is Laura's cue that she has the widow base. Selene does a quick teleporting to Lauras location. We find ourselves in an unfurnished apartment room. The only signs of someone living her is the suitcase in the corner. Small and compact not a lot to her name. Which makes sense. The Black Widow can never stop or else she'd get caught.

Oh wait? "Laura good job, you truly are the greatest. How'd you find her base in this big ass city."

Laura looks over at Selene smugly when we hear a click click clicking sound coming down the hall. Selene covers us in an invisibility field while Laura stands in front of me a bit. She's so cute.

Natasha opens the door and comes inside taking off her jacket and peeling back her skin to reveal a completely different face. Thats the real Natasha the Scarlett Johansson look alike. She walks into her apartment locking the door behind her. She strides over to her suitcase and takes out a small black phone and sends over something via text. A minute later a message comes back that said Payment Recieved. She smiles wryly and tosses the phone back in her bag.

At this time Selene uncloaks us and Natasha spins on her heels with a gun trained on my face. "Who are you people? How'd you get in here?"

"Easy Natalia" she flinches at her real name "My name is Damien and these are my associates Laura and Selene. I have an offer for you." She lowers her gun but stays visibly tensed as if she's ready to run. "Aren't you tired of running Natalia? Or would you rather Widow? In the end does it even matter? Youre still the same girl still running from that room."

Her eyes widen at my comments "How do you know about the room? Who sent you?" She steels herself as she kept her sidearm trained on me.

"I've already explained Ms. Widow im not here to capture you. Im here to make you an offer. A name, a home, a free slate. No more running and hiding and staying in shabby apartments. What happened to you. Happened to us. Shouldn't happen to anyone, but that doesn't mean you should have to pay for it for the rest of your life."

She relaxed a bit of the tension but keeps her weapon ready "....And what if i say no?" I gesture to the door indicating she could leave. Which she does, she walks backwards grabbing her go bag and out the door constantly having her weapon on us.

"Now what? Surely we could have made her come with" Selene barked. But i just shake my head and let her go. Natalia isnt someone to be controlled like that. She always shined brightest when given space to run.

We begrudgingly leave the apartment in silence. Our first recruitment went very badly. Maybe i should rethink our process. Well if anything i can meet her again in Shield later on.

Exiting the apartment complex we're surprised to see the redhead sitting on the steps looking out at the street. I walk down and sit next to her as she starts speaking.

"When i was a little girl all i knew was fight or be punished. Kill or be punished. So thats what i did. I fought back. And i killed them. And in my heart i knew the punishment was coming. I spent years running and destroying any of their bases i came across. Years of constantly changing my name, hiding...its exhausting. Hearing you call me Natalia for the first time in years. I wanted to be a dancer." She stared back at me with tears in her eyes. "If you can promise me a fresh start. Ill take this chance."

I smile and stand up brushing off my pants and hands "Well Natalia lets get going then, we have much to talk about." Natalia grabs my hand and we all Teleport back to the OW base.

Black Widow Acquired .

Meanwhile.

A large elevator opens up into a grand office laced in white. A slender woman walks out of it down the hall to the double doors made out of a adamantium alloy and with a pearl trimming. The doors open as the woman steps into the private room and walks over to the chair thats facing the windows overlooking the city.

"Ma'am the new company Star Enterprises has agreed to a meeting to promote their new wave of 'Smart Appliances' this is next generation home software and even though the company is small i believe its worth making the partnership with them."

The chair remains unbudged as a clear british accent is heard in the room "Tell me Tessa, Do you believe in fate and miracles?"

The now known Tessa looks taken aback as she replies "Ma'am?"

"You see ive had a clear vision where Frost Internationals is an unmatched conglomerate. However whether or not that happens is yet to be seen. Very Well dearie, set up the meeting with this Star Enterprises, I shall meet the company which caugth your eye personally."

"Right away Ms. Frost ahouls i set it in the usual?" Recieving silence as her answer Tessa walks back outside of the room as Emma overlooks the city.

A few days later

"Warren this is the place?" I ask my Business angel

"Yea this is the best i could find. I have a team renovating it already and filling it up with equipment. Laura and Natalia are running security points and Amara and Domino are underground viewing the different facilities we're having set up. Tandy and Ty are with Selene back in the bunker."

I look back at StarLabs in construction. This will be my main Meta Facilities. Meta training rooms, Housing and of course the labs. I have a whole planet's worth of advance tech in my head. I just needed a place to make it all. Tomorrow i meet with Frost Internationals and then after that back to recruitment and training. Only 2 and a half years til Tony goes missing. Then it's all hell breaks loose. Inhumans, Aliens, Mutants, Robots, War, shit there's even that stupid Hand group running around not to mention Hydra.

I look back at the building being made. So much to do so little time.
