Chapter 8 First Quest

As I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the warm rays of the sun streaming through the windows of my chambers. I took a deep breath, feeling the sense of renewal that came with a new day. I felt grateful for the opportunity to start anew and to tackle whatever challenges lay ahead.

As I get out of my room, I was greeted by my maid, Celine. She had been with me since I was a child and was like a member of the family to me.

"Good morning, young master," Celine said, with a smile.

"Good morning, Celine," I replied, returning her smile with a faint smile."It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

"Indeed it is, young master," Celine said, as she handed me a freshly pressed suit. "I took the liberty of laying out your attire for the day."

"Thank you, Celine,"

"It's my pleasure, young master,"

As I put on the clothes, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Celine's presence in my life. She was much more than a maid, she was a confidant and a friend. I knew that I could always count on her to be there for me, and her help and support were invaluable to me. As I was walking to the training room to do my morning training, I saw my adopted sister, Abigail, coming towards me from the opposite direction.

"Good morning, Abigail," I greeted her with a faint smile.

"Good morning, Kaim," she replied with a smile.

"Where are you going?" I asked her to see if she needed help. After all, She just arrived here yesterday.

"I am going to find grandmother but I don't know where she might be."

"Have you been given a tour around this mansion?"

"Uhm...No"

"Haaah... Father must have forgotten to give you a tour."

Ding! (System sound),

[Quest]

Give Abigail a tour of this mansion.

Reward = [New Window] Affection Gauge

Oh? My first quest since getting this system. I guess I give her a tour.

"Why don't I give you a tour instead?"

"I can't bother you for the trivial thing"

"Nonsense, This is a very important thing. How can you not know your own home? It's not like I have important things to do currently. Now, allow me to give you a tour."

Seriously let me give you a tour. I need to finish the quest.

"Alright, I am grateful to you."

***

As I and Abigail walked through the grand halls of the family mansion, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. I had grown up in this home and knew it like the back of my hand, but I was excited to share it with my adopted sister, Abigail, who had only recently joined the family.

"Welcome to our family home," I said, as we entered the grand foyer. "This is where we receive guests and hold important events."

"It's beautiful," Abigail said, her eyes wide as she took in the ornate decor and the marble floors.

"Come, I'll show you the library next," I said, leading the way.

I led her through the formal living room and the library, pointing out various paintings and antiques that had been passed down through the generations. I showed her the ballroom, where they had celebrated many family milestones, and the dining room, where we had shared yesterday's meals.

As we made our way upstairs, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia as we walked through the halls. I remembered spending time with my grandparents and father, and the many nights I had to spend studying in the library to catch up with the others.

"And this is my room," I said, as we entered my room. "It's not as grand as the others, but it's my favourite place in the whole house."

"It's perfect," she said with a smile."

As we walked, I could see the wonder and excitement in my sister's eyes. I knew that she had grown up in a different home and that this was all new to her. I wanted her to feel like it was her home too and that she belonged there.

we ended the tour in the family's private gardens where I found the artefact, we sat on a bench and looked out over the lush greenery.

"Well, How are you feeling?"

"I can't thank you enough for showing me around," Abigail said, turning to me. "I feel like I finally understand a little more about where I come from and who I am."

"You're welcome, Abigail"

Then I stand up and extended my arm to her.

"We should be going inside now, It will be breakfast time soon."

"Alright, Brother" She responded as she take my hand.

Ding!

[Quest Complete]

They made their way to the breakfast room, where a table was set with a variety of dishes, from eggs and bacon to fresh fruits and pastries. A pot of steaming coffee and a pitcher of fresh juice sat at the centre of the table.

"You two finally arrived."

"What were you doing, Dears?"

Our grandparents are already there when we arrived. It seems like they are waiting for us.

"I was giving Abigail a grand tour of the mansion because Father had forgotten to do so."

"Ah, So that's why you guys are a little late."

"Tch, That son of mine. How can he be forgetful."

As I and Abigail sat down to breakfast, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and contentment. I had always loved these family meals, and having his adopted sister and grandparents all together made it even more special.

As they ate, the conversation flowed easily, with talk of current events and family news. My grandparents reminisced about their youth.
