Chapter 11
Rene gets out of bed and strips off his sweaty clothes, then walks to the back of his house and to his yard, the light covering of black fur over his body protecting him from the cool night air. Places like the soles of his feet, his palms, his groin, are more human. He has no fur, just human pubic hair. Rene wants to run some of the frustration out of his body.
There had been a time after the attack and while he was serving as a research project when he’d stopped turning. Every time he turned into his cat form, he had thought of his father, that gun going off, and his dad hitting the ground. And he’d thought about all the times he’d been forced to turn in his cage so he could be studied.
