Vampire Diaries 19: Laugh Now, Cry Later

Valmer offers his hand which makes me hesitant to accept.

Until, I smell Jack's fragrance beside me and said, "On behalf of my half, let me do the handshake. Even you are my brother, you are not allowed to touch Thalia."

"Come on, Jack! You are too in love with her ah!"

Valmer and Aloha clap their hands while chuckling.

But, I feel uncomfortable when Jack stoops closer and whisper into my ears.

"Go with the flow, Thalia. Can you see your parents at the very end of the hall? They are happy and even smiling at us."

"But, I don't want to marry you Ja–"

I thought I can escape from him, but rather, he sealed me with a passionate kiss.

"Don't move, the crowd is watching over us. One wrong action can ruin my reputation."

Jack smile at me despite the warning and threats.

However, I can't believe all of these!

I can't believe that Thalia's parents are selfish like her twin sister, Thea.

Jack put my arm into him, and we walk forward. For the very first glimpse, I see before me hundreds of vampires.

Cheering and raving as the King's new announcement.

"Kiss!"

"Kiss!"

"Kiss!"

Even the crowd agrees and teases us as if we are still young.

But, I don't have another choice but to grant their wish.

"I did not know about this, Thalia. They are requesting for a kiss, do you grant it or disappoint them?"

He looks at me with his usual playful smile.

As they all await, the surroundings were too quiet and interested in what's going on.

I gave him an abrupt, yet sweet smile and put my arms around his neck.

Jack widened his eyes in his surprise until I stoop and kisses him.

A plain, quick kiss but he pulls me closer which urges the crowd to yell and applaud.

Thea raises her arms to the air and walks into the centre. She's smiling at me as the vampires give her the way.

She said, "Hi, everyone! I am Thea. The twin sister of the soon to be the wife of our greatest King. Let us celebrate and hope that they will live a happy marriage life together!"

Thea wink on me as she convinces the crowd.

I have no choice but give her a sweet and genuine smile. "Thank you for supporting me! Finally, I will become the King's wife."

I tell in front of hundreds of vampires that I beyond happy. But, deep inside, I wanted to vanish and goes to a place that no one knows me.

But, I know it is impossible to happen.

Thea looks at me as if she were telling me something. I know that she's not happy about what the King said.

I know that she wants to see me, crawling and begging for my life.

But, I will never hesitate to kill her if she has plans of hurting me.

A little girl suddenly appears from nowhere. She's standing right behind Thea and gives me a genuine smile

"You are so beautiful! You deserve to be the Queen of this land. And, I'll be going to sip anyone's blood who will try to steal the throne from you!"

She was staring at Thea as if she's warning her.

I said, "You are such a dauntless and fearless child. I will be going to invite you to one of my flower girls."

The little girl jumps high and replies, "Really? You will be going to invite me?"

She can't believe of what I've said, but, I feel the same way too. I am carried away by my emotion which brings me into a controversy.

Now that I invited the little girl, Jack will assume that I ready to marry him.

For a moment, I am speechless and voiceless. But, I feel erratic when the young lass frown while staring at me.

"Say yes, Thalia. She's waiting for your sweet yes."

I slowly open my jaws and said, "Yes, you are invited!"

The little girl claps her hands and searches for someone. She was smiling genuinely until she finds a little boy, who's taken then her.

Suddenly, I feel weak and fragile.

I didn't expect, that vampires can be this good looking like the little boy and girl before me.

I said, "Little boy, you will be one of the ring's bearer."

"Yes, My Queen."

He's too adorable and a shy type. But, I know as he grows up, he will be going to be a good and compassionate man.

Their parents can't stop from smiling widely and applauding.

I see real happiness through their glowing and transparent eyes. I said, "How I wish I've survived."

"What did you say?"

Little did I know, Jack hears me. But he keeps the composure and calmness despite the doubt that bothers him.

To distract him, I took his eyes and give him a genuine smile.

I know it is effective as I feel his hand squeezing my arm.

He said, "However, aside from the royal wedding. I have still one thing to announce." 

Jack becomes serious and he even let go of my hand.

I step back as I know that I am not needed anymore. "You really love the attention, huh."

Aloha is standing beside me. But, I am not certain if she's the one who speaks.

To confirm it, I look around and I realize that we are the only two standing behind. And, the only person she's talking to is... me.

"The next day after tomorrow, we will conquer the nearby small villages and hideouts of the vampires who are trying to bring me down! Gather all of them and if they resist surrendering, kill them!"

While listening to him, Aloha is murmuring something which I don't understand.

She even rolls her eyes when I look at her, but she will smile genuinely if Jack looks into our way.

"Jack is looking at me and I feel that he want to taste me tonight."

Aloha out her finger in her mouth and bite it. I don't know why she's too annoyed and irritated.

But, I don't want to fight with her. Aloha is only a slice of cake who doesn't deserve my time and efforts.

"You are too confident, Thalia. Don't worry, when the perfect moment comes where Jack realizes that you are not worthy to be his wife. I am the first person who will burst into laughter."

"And you are expecting that he will be going to love you? Come on, Aloha! Don't be a fool."

I tell her while looking at the torches on the wall.

I thought she will going to stop annoying me, but stoop and whispered into my ear.

"Laugh now, cry later."

Aloha giggles silently. I want to hit her but I choose to give her a sarcastic reply, "I am happy that you already speak of your fate."
