Day #6

Two days have passed but Rosà and Liza still aren't back from their little trip.

Darwin had informed us that they'll be returning this evening but that didn't stop me from waiting impatiently for their arrival.

It wasn't because of Rosà, no. Her leaving literally brought Cole back to his senses as he tried multiple times to strike a conversation with me.

But although it hurt so badly, I still managed to stay away from him no matter the effort he put.

I wasn't going to waste my time on a guy who wasn't sure what he wanted anymore.

Evening time was fast approaching, and my plan was to grab a beef sandwich before heading to my room and video chatting with Raven.

Although there was reason to believe that she could still be pissed with me.

Expecting her not to pick the call as it continues to ring, I'm taken by surprise when her whole body true on the screen, with a silver bottle in between her legs?

"Raven? It's three in the afternoon and your plan is to get drunk?" Picking up my laptop from my bedsheets, I take it up to my face.

"Ugh girl, you over exaggerate. But if it makes you feel better, this is just the first bottle," Looking around the room although I'm sure it was empty, her eyes widened as she whispers. "But don't you know, I'm celebrating," She takes another chuck.

"Okay first of all, drop the bottle and explain what makes you drink vodka like your life depends on it," Folding my arms, I try holding a serious look while she tests my patience with a sarcastic smirk on her face.

We stay like that for a while. Trying to figure out who will snap first and it ends up being both of us, as we burst into laughter at the same time.

"Okay Okay. But really, I wish I had a camera so you can see how although you tried to make it look serious, your face looked like you were constipated," Sh begins to chuckle when an actual frown forms on my face.

"When will you ever get matured?"

"Probably when you do," We have a short term staring contest before  bursting into laughter.

It lasts for sometime until we both get it out of our systems.

"Seriously, I need that laugh," She say, looking at what I presume was her window.

"Oh yeah? If I may ask, why is that?" I ask, trying to search her eyes but she doesn't give me the opportunity.

"It's my parents,"

"Yes?"

"They're currently in the Bahamas," Rolling my eyes, I patiently wait for her to look back at me before speaking my mind.

After a while of not getting a respond, she turns. "You're not saying anything,"

"What do you want me to say? That your parents deserve this summer without stress? Or that you're being selfish? I'm not sure, which one would you prefer me to go with?"

Sighing, she replies calmly. "I know I might have not been the best kid to them over the years,"

"Might?" I ask with a crooked smile but she ignores it.

"And yes I've done some idiotic and uncalled for things,"

"Idiotic? Uncalled for?"

"Valley!"

"Sorry," I mute myself, waiting for her to continue.

"And I'm okay with them having the time of their life and all, I just feel that they shouldn't forget the kid they left behind," Cuddling her legs, I smile as I see a Raven who rarely comes out.

"Hm. Well may I ask why you think that way?"

"It's obviously because they like never call,"

"Oh my God! This kid has been pampered like crazy," I take my hands to my head in disappointment, but proving not to care, she grins at me.

"Maybe I am. But what about you huh? Care to explain what Cole's friends are doing in your house?"

Biting my lip as I look around to see if anyone was eavesdropping, I turn back to her.

"Promise not to tell on me?"

"Cross my heart hope to die,"

And then I tell her. I explain to her how I was expecting him to come with a few bags since he's into hair products and all that stuff or even a guitar, but no he proves me wrong when he comes with a bunch of friends. And as you expect, she was pretty annoyed.

But I wasn't even at the worst part yet.

When I finally get to the part of him denying me in the mist of his friends, she rages.

"That bloody arse! Well how did he react when you know, when you threw him and his friends out?"

"Well, you see - "

"For the love of God Valley, you haven't sent him packing already?"

"Okay first of all, hear me out? My reasons start with Liza, if I send him out, she goes packing too," hearing this, her head shoots up like I predicted.

"Li - Liza is there with you?"

"Yep. And from the looks of things, they are best of friends,"

A smile slowly creeps before she manages to subside it with a frown.

"No Valley. That's not a valid reason and you know it. That just proves my worst suspicions. Cole is your witness and if you don't do something now about it, you might never move on,"

All of a sudden, I feel a chill go through my spin as her words register. I might not be the best at moving on, but I still believe that I can get through this if I put my heart into it.

"Well at least you haven't tried piercing your skin like before. Right?"

Seeing her facial expression, I nod my head.

"No of course not, I can be crazy but not that crazy,"It seemed that she bought cause a grin appeared on her face after that.

"Good Good. But since he's finally stopped leading you on into thinking you two could be an item again, I don't think you should send him packing anytime soon,"

"You know, I've been thinking about it. Why would he agree into living with me for two weeks if all he isn't thinking of getting back together, meaning - "

"That he has other motives," She completes the sentence.

"But what?"

"You know, I believe the best way into figuring that out is to get closer to his friends, especially that Louis guy,"

"Oh not even close. First of all, he's a total douche bag although we've just met, and also we literally have nothing in common,"

"Who said anything about dating," She grins more as I realise the mind trick.

"Yeah you know what? Enough about me for now,"

"Yeah let's talk about other things,"

"Okay," I wait for her to continue.

"Things like when you'll put in your end of the deal for me with Liza. I'm thinking of giving you these two weeks, especially now that she's literally living in your house," Sighing as she looks up to her roof.

"So lucky,"

"More like so unlucky. You know as much as I do that Liza doesn't like me," I point out.

"Yeah, but you promised,"

"Okay how about this. I'll hook you up with a different girl. Her name is Kiko and she is also one of Cole's friends,"

Hearing this, she looks down with an unbelievable expression.

"Seriously Valley, what do you take me for? A hopeless romantic? Well for you information, I can get anyone I want but I've never been into someone as much as Liza, "

Thinking over her next possible reaction, I reply.

"So No kiko?"

"No Kiko! But maybe I can - "

"Little Raven? Are you in your room?"

Widening her eyes, Raven takes her direction from the laptop before her face disappears as I watch her shut it abruptly.

I don't know why, but I feel like her grandmother just stopped her from saying something she would regret.

Yawning aggressively, I take my phone and type a text before pushing it and my laptop away before falling back into my pillow as sleep takes me.

Be a good little Raven and take care of Mrs Fokker, talk to you later.

Valley.

                      °°°°°°°

Waking up this evening from a long and appreciated nap, I wonder how long the sleep lasted since the sun was already setting.

My stomach begins to rumble while I get out of the bed and at the same time, try to remove signs of sleep from my face.

Feeling a bit dizzy, I walk out of my room, ready to raid the fridge for something to eat. Hopefully, none of my roomies got there first.

I'm halfway to the stairs when I began to hear tremendous clicking of a keyboard in one of the rooms.

Click Click.

Walking towards their door, I frown. Hey, we don't have any keyboard.

"Darwin?"

Looking up from his monitor screen, he flashes me a smile.

"Hey Val, finally you woke up. Didn't think I could finish what I'm doing with all that snoring,"

Narrowing my eyes at him, I smack the back of his head before occupying the seat next to him.

Since these two days, I and Darwin have been closer than I had expected. Wish I could say the same with his girlfriend Gwen.

"Well I did just got out of bed," I reply, noticing the place was packed with electronics.

"You're into computers right?"

"Doesn't take a genius to notice that. Come see this," He points at the screen.

"Sure. So what are you doing?" Adjusting my shorts, I lean closer.

"Nothing really. Just going through the pictures I took in the little party we threw,"

"What? Dude I literally have no idea what went down that night. Can I see them?"

"It's your house, so feel free,"

"No don't say it like that,"

"My bad," He takes his hands to the air, still able to maintain his smile. "Now let's see, the folder name is summer memories. I was gonna make them into a scrapbook for Gwen but - "

"Hey guys, Rosà and Liza are back!" Breathless, Gwen takes back to the stairs without moments to spare.

Holding each other's gazes for a moment, it doesn't take long as we join her to welcome back our little guests that I'm getting to know everyday.

Striding down the stairs, I try balancing my breathing routine when being the last, Louis brings Liza into a hug.

Wondering how they all know each other and from where, I feel everyone turn to me.

Now all eyes are on me.

"It's nice to see you two again. But em Liza?" I pause, touching my chin. "I believe we have a pending conversation to take care of,"

As no one bother to move, the place felt like a graveyard.

Somehow, everyone had already acknowledged that something was wrong but no one bothers to speak forward.

Not until she does.

"You wanna talk?" Liza throws my question back, leaning on a small suitcase.

"Yes I want to talk. Can we go somewhere private?"

"No! If you want to say something, then I suggest doing it here," She points at our audience.

"You know what? If saying this in front of everyone is the only way we can talk, then so be it," I took a deep breath as she begins to play with her nails, signifying that she truly didn't give a crap about what I was going to say next.

"I'm sorry Liza."

Just a three worded sentence but this must have come as a shock cause she literally starts choking on air.

"Wait did I hear you right? The famous Valley Navareth apologizes, yeah right. Comon just spill where you're going with this,"

"Why If you're truly curious, my offer for speaking in private still stands,"

Well as you might what they say, curiosity will be the fall of us humans.
