After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. Smiling sweetly at her ex-husband, she said, "My dear, we're already divorced." Michael simply stared at her coldly, "Tell me, what will it take for us to reconcile?"
Jill was pretty annoyed that she hadn't managed to get any details out of Wendy. But Wendy wasn't the only main character in this whole story.
An idea hit her, and a smile slowly spread across her face.
She got into the elevator and pressed the button for the 88th floor. She was going to head straight for the office of the other main character, Michael Lucas.
Michael was indeed a little surprised to see that it was Jill who had knocked on his door. He hadn't talked much to her, but his impression of her was very deep.
After all, Jill had gotten Wendy to act as herself when she first returned to Lake City as Corrine.
"The smile on your face tells me you're still in a good mood." Jill didn't purposely speak deferentially just because she held a low position in the company. She continued to speak with her usual confidence.
